Can you add "Pause" and "#" to a Contact's phone number so u can auto dial an extension/password ... I've tried "p" and "," ... no go, sounds like the phone is not dialing the additional numbers (Samsung Moment/Sprint).

I just realized the lack of this feature (or incompatibility) when I tried to call someone and kept getting "your call cannot be completed" message from Verizon.
If Google is trying to target business users they need to get their act straight. The problem is not putting semi column or comma or upside down questionmark to dial extensions, but the issue is the compatibility.
Outlook and most contact management/e-mail systems use X as a divider between main number and extension.
It also makes sense "x" "eXtension". Anyway, I was able to sync all my contact beautifully, only to find out that I cannot call my clients, friends or the companies where I have to dial extensions. I don't remember all their extensions, and I cannot change hundreds of them one by one.
Any way to replace the default "x" for extension in Outlook 2010. Otherwise Android is useless for those calls.

I have been checking for recent threads about cronic issues of dial screen problems with mute/speaker activated accidentally. I just got my phone in last 2 months and am not technically advanced enough so fear rooting my phone...dealer said it will invalidate my warrantee. My phone is already 2.1, and this issue was SUPPOSED to be resolved . Are there any work arounds for the Moments crappy dial screen? I hate that I have to hit back button to disable buttons that I never use anyway. And when the screen is gone...it is a pain to bring back the dial screen if I need to use dial tones, since the keypad letters do not work on phone system prompts because they don't activate keytones. Is there any good (not buggy) work around dial screen applications for this other than rooting my phone?

There is a speed dial button on the #1 keypad for the voicemail, but we have visual voicemail. So why give us an unneeded speed dial and not let us have access to the rest of them. View 6 Replies View RelatedSo a colleague of mine picked up the Droid Eris and while I find the Sense UI a bit heavy - I did love the look of the desktop widget that manages favorites from dialer on screen as a speed dial. Have been searching in Market for a couple of days and don't find! Searched here and only find instructions for adding shortcuts to contacts onto the desktop (which I guess could work, but doesn't look anywhere near as cool!). Anyone heard of anything good?

But just to point it out again the moment can be turned off or put on airplane mode even while its locked. This may be a bad thing if someone steals your phone and you want to use someones phone to either call or text it so that it will ring to find out who has it. All the thief has to do is put it on airplane mode or turn it off to deactivate ringers, sound, and gps.
Is there an app or option where I can use a passcode to unlock the phone rather than the pattern?And is there a way to track my phone through gps just in case it's lost or stolen?Any ideas or suggestions if a device someone rely relies on a lot is lost or stolen? I read a lot on my phone and it was so cool it did that auto fit thing, even iphone doesn�t do that but I have tried restarted the phone, all the settings but can�t find anything.

View 8 Replies View RelatedOriginally, when I got my Moment, I had it set up to Auto-Sync my Gmail, Contacts and Calendar. I noticed (especially when managing contacts on my phone) that when I made any changes to a contact, the auto-sync would begin, in turn, freezing up the whole contact app/module. It would freeze for about 30 seconds until the sync was complete.
This would also happen with the Gmail app. So I turned off auto-sync a couple weeks ago, and every time I go into Gmail, I just go to Menu, Refresh. But it's a pain when I get a call saying, "Hey, did you get my email?". So I'm thinking of using IMAP for Gmail now, but I'd rather find out if anyone else is having this issue, or if there's a workaround.

Have been facing a problem with my LG Optimus Net for quite some time now. As soon as I end an incoming call or and outgoing call I seem to get the auto dial option wherein the phone starts dialling the last number which I had called. This has been happening for quite some time now. Also some times when someone calls me before I can answer the call within few secs the call gets disconnected and they get the auto text indicating I'm busy. I tried to do a factory reset which didn't work.

Most of them are pretty obvious but there are a few I'm not sure of. Does anyone have a comprehensive list of services/processes/etc. that we can safely kill off and/or set for auto-kill/disable at startup? Edit: One I was curious about is Google Partner Setup. I have killed it off without any issues through Task Panel. But would having it on the auto-kill list be OK?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Samsung Stratosphere turned itself off sometime and now is rebooting to the Samsung logo, and then turning back off, and rebooting (a couple times earlier it booted to the main android menu, but turned back off immediately afterwards) and when I plugged it into the charger it acts like it's charging and then turns off and acts like it's charging and over and over again, even when the battery indicates that it's at more than half full.
(No custom ROMs or anything, it's all standard btw). I took the battery out and everything and it still does the same thing when I put it back. I tried to do a factory reset, but the recovery mode screen always jumps away when I try to activate it (I press both Vol+ and Vol-, recovery mode screen comes up but goes instantly, then the phone goes into a boot loop again).
I'm using the packaged headphones with my Samsung Epic. One thing I've noticed is that I am unable to pause or skip tracks with the headphones. This was something I could do with my G1 and Palm Pre. Can the EPIC do this as well? Or it just the headphones? Can someone confirm?

Either making it louder and the music playing quieter, or even pausing the music and notifcation sounds or ringtone playing would be good. I cant seem to find a fix. I am missing many calls like this.

Here I am with 2 HTC Hero phones, with only one on an active account. I just splurged on an Epic and I am loving the phone so far but I noticed a small glitch and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if there is a solution. I noticed that the dialpad sometimes has a lag when entering numbers into the dial pad. To clarify:
Yesterday I was calling my cable service provider. I was prompted by the automated customer service sytem to enter in my phone number. At this point I had the phone to my ear and and in order to enter my phone number I then proceeded to remove the phone from my ear and started punching in the numbers. The phone screen awoke from sleep and as I started to punch in the numbers I noticed that the screen did not register my touch enteries right away. In fact I had to press the screen a couple of times before the screen press was registered and the correct selection was made. It only seems to occur under these circumstances: The phone screen is off due to the light sensor being covered while the phone is next to your ear. If you remove the phone from your ear and then proceed to enter numbers on the dialpad some lag does occur and the numbers do not show up immediately. In fact the screen will not even resgister the few one or two attempts at making a selection.
