Samsung Moment :: Best Smart Dialer
Nov 20, 2009After I rooted my DX a week or two ago, I've noticed that whenever I try to use speaker phone, my callers can't hear me at all. They definitely could hear me before rooting?

View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there a way, app or otherwise, to keep the dialer pad on the screen.
It becomes a pain in the butt when I have to use it for choosing options in a call menu.
Does anyone know of a way to change the dialer from the ugly gray?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIve been searching for this for a few days and Ive got nothing so hopefully someone knows. Is there any way to call a number that's been sent via sms? Ex: My wife sent me a text containing the phone number of a client. On previous phones, that number would be a hyperlink and when I clicked it the dialer would open with that number pre-inserted. It seems on the moment I have to memorize the number, go to the dialer and input it in. This isn't so easy when your driving or doing much of anything.
Is there any app or setting that allows me to automatically input the number into the dialer? I tried copy and paste but you cant paste into the dialer.
This may have been asked but I can't find what I am looking for in search.Anyway, we have 2 droid phones, we want to use them in the house in a hands-free phone mode, with some sort of external speakers.I found some blueant speakers for cars, and was recommended this one S1 Sun Visor model.

I have found out the RAM is 354 MB, and the CPU is a Qualcomm Single-Core 1.4 GHz processor with the Adreno 205 GPU.
How to figure out which Qualcomm processor it is? Pretty sure it is an S2, but which one? I'm thinking maybe the same one in the G2, but I want to know for sure.
The Samsung Gravity Smart has extremely limited internal memory. The new Playstore App automatically installs itself every time I download another app. Then, I have to remove the Playstore app before I do anything else, because the Playstore app has consumed all of the memory.
Isn't there something that I can do to stop the Playstore app from installing itself?
why my Android's internal storage is full. I don't think I have anything on there except for the 18 stock apps I have (including apps like titanium backup, and Link2SD that came with my ROM). I've gotten rid of all the bloatware on the phone, deleted most of my cache, and moved all of my downloaded apps to the SD card. I've even gone as far as to replace the web browser with Opera mini (and put it on the SD card), and prevented the device from installing a 10 MB update for the google play store. Even though the phone only has 14 MB (138/152 MB), I would think that would be more than enough to receive text messages. The phone doesn't even want me to do that.
I do have a few thoughts as to what could be causing this problem. First off, even after I've deleted an app via titanium backup, the app still appears in titanium backup with a line through it. This leads me to believe that the app still has data left on the phone. Second, I'm thinking Link2SD isn't actually moving all of the app to the SD card. In that case, I guess I don't have any choice but to remove all of my extra apps.
I actually have one solution that may or may not work. If I could somehow make the device treat my extra (32 GB) SD card into thinking it's the phone's external storage, then I wouldn't have to worry about overloading it at all. Would this work flawlessly?
Here's some extra information that may or may not be useful.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHere I am with 2 HTC Hero phones, with only one on an active account. I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account. Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. Maybe we can work out a swap. Now for the additional 1 to 2 feet of snow that is forecast for this afternoon and tomorrow, on top of the 2.5 feet still on the ground.

View 38 Replies View RelatedI currently own a Palm Pre and I'm ready to ditch it for an Android device. Don't get me wrong, webOS is clean and has a lot of potential, but for now...lacking would be a good (albeit understated) word to describe it. I want to jump the Pre ship for the Samsung Moment, but one thing I keep reading about the Moment is bothering me - everyone says it doesn't have multi-touch. However, I recently read that multi-touch is something Android doesn't yet support. This knowledge was previously unbeknownst to me since I haven't used an Android device since the G1 first launched. Since the Moment uses a standard Android build, the OS wouldn't allow multi-touch even if the phone were capable of it. So my question is: Does anyone know whether or not the Moment is capable of multi-touch? If it's simple a shortcoming of Android, I can deal with it since I know Android 2.0 should finally support it.

We want to know how we can disable the default dialer so that it doesn't listen for missed calls, incoming calls and also it doesn't gets launched by other application for making calls instead our application gets launched. Only our dialer application should be listening on it. We want to use same format as existing content URIs supported by default dialer in our own dialer application. Is this possible? If yes then how we can achieve it? We don't want to delete the call log application code or we don't want to remove it from build. We want to have default dialer in device. Our dialer application will be installed later may be by downloading from Internet by end user.

I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?

I currently have a voice plan, with sprint, for my dying LG Musik and my father's Palm Centro and am seeking to replace my Musik with a Samsung Moment. I have an upgrade available on my account, however I don't want to get locked into a data plan, since I rarely spend any time away from Wifi.
Does anyone know if there is a way for me to use my upgrade to aquire the Moment without commiting to the data plan?
set up the wifes new moment her gmail still says 109 unread I went intp gmail on the pc and marked all as read then refreshed on the phone, no luck, tried going to manage apps and clearing all gmail and refreshing, still no luck short of one by one deleting all 109 any way to fix the count?

A lot of the apps are on the I phone and I touch which is pretty cool. But can anyone tell me if it is possible to maybe change the phone kinda like jail breaking? Is there anyway of making the Moment a wireless tether for internee?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMost every other "issue" to this phone has been a non-issue for me to this point. However, the one feature Samsung really screwed us on is the voice capabilities of the phone.I think they are tied to the Nuance system and therefore unusable by other apps like google voice search and where.I hope samsung or sprint writes a live search app for this phone.I bought the phone with the expectations of this phone being capable of voice commands without being limited by nuance.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI know nothing about rooting phones, so i thought Id ask here. Im in the process of choosing between the moment and the hero, and I cant decide. The biggest concern I have is how fast will the Moment be rooted. Its sounding like they are close with the Hero, and once that is done will that make it easier for someone to figure out how to root the moment? Or is it like starting from scratch from phone to phone? Im also a bit concerned that no one at XDA will be helping with the process since the moment is not an HTC phone. I had a Treo800 when it first cameout, and it seemed like it took FOREVER for roms to make it way to that device. Any thoughts?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am a Sprint customer looking for an Android phone for basic functions. I am trying to choose between the Hero and the Moment. I have 1 of each right now from Sprint, on the 30 day trial. Here are the challenges I find with each. Does anyone know of any fixes for these?
Hero
1) Phone hangs up during calls because of lack of proximity sensor
2) Speaker phone wont turn off once activated, unless I end the call
3) Vibration mode is very weak and basically useless. Cant feel it in my pocket
4) Sprint Navigation does not work
Moment
1) Battery runs out before end of day
2) Bluetooth is spotty and wont always connect
3) Web navigation not as smooth as Hero.
If I want to call "Work," which I have 3 #s programmed for, and I press 9675, the # that pops up is the the first # that shows up for in the contact details, but it is not the one that I have programmed as the default. Are we stuck with this, there a way to change it and I'm overlooking it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a question that I'm not sure if it's even possible since they are two completely different ROMS. I have been running BH-man's Galaxy 1.6 Rom R8 and have been loving it but the two things that have not been working is starting to become a factor and Im really needing Vibrate and the default BH2 camera features. So with that being said, I went ahead and made the switch to the Behold 2 1.6 with No Twiz, and is very fast and nice, minus a few features from the Galaxy rom. Now, I have been wondering if its even possible to have the Dialer & Contact interface from BH Mans Galaxy 1.6 added to this default ROM without it messing anything up. If that is possible, would a pullpush the two files over to the 1.6 no Twiz Rom work? I know that at one point BH_Man has done this in the past but it was based off 1.5 I believe.
