Samsung Galaxy I7500 :: Does Anyone Have Original Recovery Image Backed Up
Oct 28, 2010
Does anyone have the original recovery image backed up somewhere? The external speaker on my i7500 crapped out and when I take it to get serviced I'd rather them not say "custom recovery, custom rom...your warranty is void."

I have flashed the GT-P1000 tab with clockworkmod version 6 (i am not sure the exact version) using Odin. Now after flashing the recovery, I have successfully installed Cyanogenmod 11 (nightly build) and everything was successful and everything is great.
A friend of mine borrowed the tab and he put a pattern to lock the phone, instead of asking him what is the pattern I just decided to wipe the tab again to make a clean install. So what I did was I went to recovery and selected "format /system" which I shouldn't have, then after rebooting it is not booting up to Cyanogen anymore, so what i did was I just wiped everything (format /data, cache and factory reset)
Now this is the weird part, the devices has kept on booting up to clockwork recovery and it says the device is not yet rooted, it is asking me if it is ok to root it, I always selected yes
After another boot up, the clockwork recovery is now version 3.0.0.5??? it is really weird? I never installed any clockwork mod with a lower version... How did that happen?
Now whenever I try to install from sd card or restore it or mount it nothing happens, it just says:
E:Can't mount
E:unknown volume
E:unable process volume! skipping
I tried to flash the recovery again using Odin many times but still the clockwork mod is stuck in version 3.0.0.5.
Right now, I am not sure if my understanding of the entire system is correct:
1. Should I install a new recovery, if yes, how and why is it whenever I am installing it again it is not being installed, it gets stuck to version 3.0.0.5?
2. Are there any other recovery I should use and how should I install it? is it the same as using the Odin?
3. Is there a way to install the original recovery of this tab and then from there I will start over again.

I asked in a couple of places but nobody answered so i just tried making compcache work by myself. what i did was:
- use recovery to format external sd fat32+swap
- use galaxoconf to activate compcache setting it on default which is 25600 i think.
Now the thing is - how do i know if it works and did i even do it right?

I am trying to get my hands on the Original Optus Firmware for Australia - my phone has stopped reading SIM cards (it is definitely hardware as I have flashed multiple different ROMS) and I need to get back to stock for warranty's sake. I have done some research but have been unable to find it. I believe that the number for it should be i7500DTII5 (according to this site).

Does GAOSP Froyo support live wallpapers for i7500? If yes, can you recommend some that seem to run fine without (major) slowdown? I would suspect that the CPU is too slow to run most live wallpapers, but there might be some neat ones that are good to go?

I've had my Galaxy i7500 for about a year , but I'll be getting a HTC Android (not sure which) later on. But that's another story.
I need to do a factory reset on my phone because I had that lock screen block where it asks for your GMail, but nothing was working. I tried the "null" password trick, and that got me through. Then I (have had this problem for ages) decided to do something about that download error problem, where nothing downloaded, and the suggestions where 1. Factory reset or 2. delete some data and cache from apps. Did that. Now it won't accept my GMail login because it erased my GMail from the phone, hence the need for a factory reset. Now that you've heard my life story (sorry ), I'll get onto what I need.
Can anyone tell me the control for the recovery mode? I need them because reseting the phone through recovery mode keeps all of your pictures, videos and music but resets the rest. I like my media .

I have a user who has a Samsung Galaxy S3 and is using the GMail app to read her emails. This all works fine except for when she goes to reply to one. When she replies, everything looks ok and she can even send without a problem. The problem comes when the message is received the original message (below what she typed) just reads "Original sender wrote : " and that's it. That actual original message isn't there.
I've checked all the settings and even recreated the account and it still does it. I also checked the sent messages and it's like it there too so it's definatley something to do with the phone. The only thing we've found is that if you edit the original message in any way - even just by adding a space - it goes through correctly.

I don't have a rooted phone. I've been running the IK5 firmware for a while with no problems. I had to travel to the states and put my phone on airplane mode and then decided to shut it off. When I tried to turn it on, it would get to the Samsung "glowing" logo and stay there for awhile. Then the screen would flash and the Samsung logo would appear again. My phone was stuck in a loop after that. It never booted up. I decided to try and reload the firmware and that didn't help. Then I tried recovery mode. That's when I got the infamous triangle with and exclamation point in it. After that nothing. I guess I may have somehow bricked an unrooted phone. Although this isn't my specialty.

I was originally going to get either the HTC Hero or Motorola Droid but found out they are both CMDA. and the Milestone is out of my budget. People have been suggesting to get the Samsung Galaxy S, that's also out of my budget and looks too much like an iPhone. So i stumbled upon these two phones.I'm leaning more towards the Spica because it has superior battery life, and 800mhz compared to the 528mhz the i7500 has. and it can also play DivX.What's making it a difficult decision is the i7500 has an AMOLED Screen. It can display 16,777,216 Colors while the Spica can only display 65,536 Colors I'm not too sure if that will make a difference. Also it has 5mp w/LED Flash while Spica is only 3.2.One phone has a little of both. This will be my first Android phone I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson W995.

I know this is not a new thread. But i couldnt found a answer on the old thread. " With the phone plugged in via USB and the phone off go to command prompt by typing in cmd in search or run box in windows and cd to the tools directory then Type: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img It will say... < Waiting for device > Long-press the two Call buttons on the phone and you will see it load in fast boot and confirm file transfer was successful. The new recovery image will be flashed " I read the above from other thread but i could not understand. For info, i am having window vista home premium. could anyone explain again the same above in blue colour ?

I know Samsung Galaxy is coming out on monday or tuesday on O2 UK,so now when its so close to uk customers i want all of you help me and us decide which Android phone shoul I or WE go for?im very confused at this moment as for me its still unclear how much RAM Galaxy has and whether or not it would be slower or faster than HTC Hero? other thing is Sense UI that Hero has which looks amazing so question for developers or general programmers will it be possible to port it to Galaxy as i think the only differences are presence of Flash LED on Galaxy camera and D-Pad instead of Track ball on Hero. and one more thing how much future proof will both phones are in your opinion as im going to get 18month contract anyway so i dont want to regret in couple of weeks.
