View 3 Replies View RelatedI own a Samsung Galaxy S3 and am trying to write a shell script that will simulate screen presses in a very rapid fashion. To do so, I stumbled across the "input tap" function from /system/bin/input and my script looks like this:
Code:
x=1
while [ $x -lt 10 ]
do
input tap 640 110
(( x++ ))
done
Anyway, the code works great in that it will tap the screen at location 640,100. However, each call to "input tap" takes almost a second to return. My script takes around 10 seconds to complete. However, I was hoping to find a way to speed up the call to "input tap". I am not sure if this is a limitation of my phone.
Epic users are all reporting slow speeds on 3G.Our upload speeds seem to be capped at 200KBPS. Can you Galaxy owners check your speeds with speedtest.net app ?
I'm curious if this is just a Sprint issue. Evo on Sprint is much faster ,so its not a network issue.
I am having problem with performance of SQLite database in Android application in Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000 device. The database contains 10 tables with 3 - 8 columns each.
As soon as a database file gains about 400 KB update/instert queries need much more time to execute - 2 seconds! In comparision to other devices (HTC Magic, HTC Desire) update/insert queries take about 40 msec !
The database file is located in application data directory. Moving database file to sd card increases the speed significantly.
Periodic ANALYZE and VACUUM commands do not affect the speed. As well as PRAGMA cache_size command.
Do you have any ideas how to improve the performance? for keeping the database in sd card or splitting the database into many files containing one table each.
Im thinking about buying the samsung galaxy s soon. But I would like to know wha the bugs are? I know theres a problem with the gps im sure. Ive also heard things like the general opening and closing of apps is slow? is this true?

View 35 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Samsung Galaxy s4 mini and have realized that my contacts seem to appear on the screen very slow. It sometimes takes upto 2 minutes to appear. Some thing you all should know is that I have 2000+ contacts (mainly clients).
At first I was using google contacts and i assumed this was causing it to lag due to using data to refresh... but I transferred all the contacts to the device itself... so it shouldn't lag anymore!
When people even call... there name doesnt appear, and only the phone number shows, even though I have the number installed in my contacts. This is also the case with text messages. When I want to compose a new text, and search for a contact... it doesnt do anything for about a minute or two.
I have opened the developer mode, and changed the animations to off, but this hasnt solved the problem.
I've just bought a brand-new Galaxy Fame GT-S6810L and I've been trying to optimize its RAM usage. I know it's naturally low, since it's only 512, but I've been uninstalling unnecessary apps using Titanium Backup (I'm rooted) and the phone still doesn't work very smoothly. It sometimes freezes for a while and then restarts on its own.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am running 2.1 on galaxy S and its one month old phone. I have installed 16Gb Sd card. I have installed lots of applications on the phone and i think coz of which the phone has become really slow. If i go to task-manager---> Summary, under program it shows 456MB/516MB. Is there a workaround to keep all the current apps on the phone and also increase the spee of the phone. For eg;- when i hit the phone key, it takes 5 sec to open the keypad/calllog window.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Google Latitude and my location updates are very infrequently.
My update reach from half and hour to 7 hours. Often it only updates every 3 hours. My battery is full to 3/4 at this time.
According to Google the updates depend on how often you move and how strong your battery is, but the update will never take longer than 1 hour.
Do you guys experience the same problem?
I have upgraded my Galaxy Grand Duos I-9082 from Jelly bean 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 and the phone hangs randomly. on 4.1.2 it was working truly commendable.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI got a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. 2014 Edition. I love the Tablet, great for watching Youtube videos, and mostly for playing my retro games. But lately now I have a serious problem. I have Verizon Fios at home and whenever I try to connect my Wireless tablet to it It lags, it slows down, many times the connection comes up for a couple of seconds, then connection drops. I told Verizon about and they are going to send me a new router. it is a software connection issue with the Samsung Tablet? On my computer, I am getting 7 mbps download speed and 6 mbps when I am supposed to be getting 50 Mbps on my comupter.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I've recently transferred from iPhone to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and one of the first things that I noticed was the fact that whenever I press the button on my headphones to either change tracks or just pause the song, the time taken for it to do so is at least 5 seconds, once it took 20 seconds just to pause! I've been using spotify to listen to my music by the way.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Samsung Galaxy Ace (S5830) running under a custom ROM The Ultimatum (I've been using this custom firmware for a few weeks now, with no real problems up until now), is bootlooping with no apparent reason. On a rare occasion, most apps on the phone stopped responding and would crash upon opening, and would require a restart before they worked again. Well this happened to me a few hours ago, so I decided to reboot my phone. After coming back to check my phone, I had found it was still booting. This has gone on for several hours now, and I've tried turning it on and off, removing batteries and everything. It's stuck in boot loop. I found this was odd, as I have had no dramas with the firmware I've been using. I have not made ANY recent changes to the phone whatsoever, so I can hardly believe it would be my fault.
how do I fix this without wiping all data and installing a clean ROM? I have a lot of stuff in the internal storage I can't afford to lose, and it's really important to me.
My phone freezes for no reason. i try to scroll down or something and it freezes!! so i have to take out the battery like 5 times a day. i dont know what to do. 1.6 tweaked v3.

It's not because I'm going in and out of service, as the phone is not moving, just sitting on my desk. No alerts or notifications are sounding, no noise at all, just the lights. Any idea why it does this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter I had problem with earplugs like others (which still isn't solved, it's just less annoying with some headset widget I found on this forum) now my phone restarts by itself. I mean, it's like it was turned off and I turn it on. It play Samsung song and I need to enter the pin. I don't think it's battery stuff, cause the it would just shut down, or maybe I'm wrong. Have official firmware, I didn't change anything, it's like from the store.

If 'weeks' is at least 2, that blows an Aug 11th, and Aug 20th release out of the water, and seriously endangers an August release at all.That's extremely disappointing, especially since I was hoping to switch from my Evo to the Epic in time for my 30 day trial.
I just got the Behold 2 last night and I wake up this morning to a phone thats stuck on the Android SCreen? WTF is that? Anyway, I have already tried reseting it and taking out the battery, Format SD card, Taken out both cards. Maybe this phone Really is a piece of shit. If it has, I am taking it back in the morning to Tmobile and getting my money back. Then I am Going to Sue Samsung for making such a piece of shit phone.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI've been using Take5 for quite awhile now; however, recently, I decided to flash to the official 1.6 OTA release just out of curiosity. After playing around with it for a little while, I decided to flash back to Take5 (because I missed having root and I really don't like TouchWiz). After flashing back to Take5, I noticed that my baseband was still the new one (T939UVJE2) and I thought to myself, alright I got the new baseband out of this. Anyways, on to Swype... The official 1.6 OTA release includes a newer version of Swype than Take5. Upon testing it, I found it to work a little better than the one in Take5 (slightly more accurate and a little faster). Could someone please send me the new version of the swype apk that's included in 1.6 OTA release?
View 3 Replies View RelatedLet me begin by saying that I will be purchasing an EPIC 4G on release day (whenever that may be) no matter when it is Now to my point, the lack of information and outright secrecy being employed by Sprint regarding the release of the EPIC 4G is downright moronic and piss-poor marketing. I know that some mindless idiots will say "oh see, see.... the fact that you are talking about the EPIC proves their strategy is working!" Well, I say BOLLOCKS! his isn't creating hype or excitement, all this is doing is pissing people off and causing Sprint to lose more and more potential new customers to VZW and ATT. I mean, there are some powerhouse devices (Droid 2, BB Torch, iPhone 4) that are going to be readily available apparently before we will even know for sure when the EPIC will even be released! If Sprint wants/expects people to wait for an EPIC, then they need to tell us when it will actually be available.
