I rooted my Samsung galaxy grand duos and installed clockworkmod recovery and cyanogen but now my mobile won't switch on. It's stuck on the loading screen.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm on a family plan with my wife and 13yr old son. We purchased a Galaxy S4 for our son as a Birthday present in October. However, as of recent his grades have taken a dive. We notice he eats, sleeps and breathes on the phone. He primarily uses it for surfing the net, instagram or youtube. We were thinking of grounding him and removing his phone but we need him to have his phone as a point of contact. However, is there anyway to stop his data usage. I realize there is a setting on the phone to disable data usage but it is fairly easy to re-enable it.
Is there anyway to lock or password protect the phones settings or data usage?
I tried googling but the results kept yielding information relative to the "lock screen" which isnt what im looking for.
I recently got a Gionee ELife e6 phone running Android 4.2.1. It seems to be missing the "Password" option to unlock the screen. Is this related to this particular device? Or is there a way to enable / bring back the "Password" option? Screen Lock setting.

View 5 Replies View RelatedRecently i received a unbranded 7" tablet with ICS firmware which was locked permanently because of too many wrong attempts to unlock device. I used adb to break the lock and successfully booted it again for regular use.
First you require the following things:
1. usb debugging active on your device(if debugging is not on then you cannot use this method)
2. adb shell on your computer (follow this thread for adb [URL] .....)
3. usb cable to connect your device to your pc or laptop.
4. Usb debugging drivers if not installed from here [URL] .....
How to unlock:
1. connect your device to pc and install drivers.
2. open the folder where you installed the adb for dummies and search for adb.exe
3. right click holding shift on the free space in folder containing adb.exe and select open command window here.
4. typre following commands separately by pressing enter after each line:
adb shell
cd /data
rm -r data
reboot
Your device will reboot and you will not have any password to enter and a free unlocked device again.
NOTE- this will not work on all devices but it will work on unbranded , chinese and local tablets . i confirmed this method on CHAMPION WTAB 7.2 AND KROSS tablet ics. Be careful not to delete the /data folder, you have to delete data folder under data folder(/data/data). so just enter the commands as they appear and it will be fine.
I've tried googling and searching for applications, but ironically, all I've found is people with the opposite problem - who are lucky enough to be asked for a password, but don't want it? Just got my HTC Desire, it is really amazing, but I HATE the stupid lock screen 'pattern' - I am amazed there doesn't seem to be any actually secure option considering the amount of important data the phone may hold (access to email in 2 clicks from home screen + no password = epic fail), especially as when I had a quick go to see what would happen, the pattern seems to allow unlimited attempts - just have to wait 30 seconds between every 5 .Turning my phone off whenever it has to be unattended is just ridiculous, even though I doubt I'll ever let there be a need to, I still want to make sure things are secure.Is there any way to replace the pattern with a PIN or password? Preferably free but I won't mind paying for an application if it's the only way.

Also the volume level doesn't affect my text message notification. long story:A week ago sprint told me to factory reset my phone to get rid of the error 67 problem, ever since then i've had this problem. So they told me to factory reset it again and the problem continued. then they sent a replacement and now i'm still getting the problem before i installed any apps. the SD card is the same though. So i'm confused and don't want to delete everything from the sd card.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for this topic but I couldnt find it. I just upgraded my htc hero to android 2.1. I never set a password for the lock screen. So it ended up putting a password on its own. I called sprint tech support and talked to them for about an hour and finally figured out that the password is my google account password. Thats all well and good but I am not a big fan of password protecting my phone because I really dont have any information of value on it, but I do like having the lock screen so I dont pocket diel. I found a few programs that will disable the lock screen that will get around this problem, kind of. Does anyone have a clue how to disable the password protection and still keep the lock screen. Its just really irritating because I dont usually lock my phone and every time I try to wake it I have to unlock it.
Sorry if this has been asked, I did a search and came up empty.Am I missing something or is there no way to password protect the lock screen with Android (without some app)?I can live without it, but considering how much personal info we store on our phones these days, I'd at least like to know if I have the option.

However on the other one it is automatically set to immediately, how can i change this to 4 mins for example, it doesnt give me the options? It locks straight away and its annoying to have to put the pin in every time i pick up the phone as i am on it alot. Is there different versions of this S3?

All I see on my lock screen is text messages, I don't receive any notifications from instagram, games, etc..

Either by ROM, App, or Rooting/Otherwise, is there a way to make the lock button have multiple functions on my Galaxy Nexus? My goal is to be able to use Voice Actions from a locked phone (like in the car, for example).I noticed some posts on editing hardware buttons, but that was neither for the Galaxy Nexus nor for a lock button.
Ideally, 2 quick clicks would pull up Voice Actions from a locked phone.I guess if I could permanently have Voice Actions in the notifications section, I could drag down from a locked phone and accomplish the same thing. I use slide to unlock, so dragging down on notifications bar is still available.
I have not rooted yet but would do so just for this functionality (I'm now a corporate tool so I try to hack as little as possible these days)...
I am a bit new to Android Environment and i am trying to make a snooper application. that is when ever some one enter wrong password on lock screen the front camera will automatically take a picture in invisible mode. I turned Lockpicker off by accident and now it wants me to put my old password in. I have no idea what it is. I'm on attempt #10/10, and I don't want the device to erase my data.I can't turn Lockpicker back on without getting back into the menu system. Is there any way to recover my original password? I would've thought it'd automatically be the same as my Exchange password, but that's not working. Is there any way to refresh the number of attempts I have?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy grand Duos, it had Android 4.1.2 (stock) and I wanted to upgrade it to Android KitKat (4.4) so I rooted it and I upgraded first to 4.2.2 using RR (Resurrection ROM) and it worked flawlessly then I used CM 11.0, I flashed CM 11.0 (the ROM) and gapps, but now it just won't boot, it's stuck at the Galaxy Grand Duos logo and it just won't go to the main screen or anything, did I brick it or what?
