If you'd like to have your voice mail log in automatically (instead of having to type your password in) go to settings>call settings>Voicemail>
enter *86,1234#
1234 = whatever your pin is.
the "," is a 2 second pause. you may have to play with this and add another "," if it enters the pin too quickly after you call.

Two simple questions:
How do you delete bookmarks of the browser? How do you create a pause in the speed dial for voice mail?
To program your voice mail code so you don't have to enter it every time you check your voice mail:
menu>settings>call>voicemail settings>voicemail number>
If your code is 7777, this is how you would program it: *86p7777#p1
The p stands for pause. Once you program this, all you have to do to check your voice mail is hold down the 1 button on the phone and the phone will do the rest.I'm pretty new to smartphones.This is one of my favorite tricks.

View 4 Replies View RelatedLong time Droid user, brand new to the Fascinate Forum. I just bought my wife a Samsung Fascinate and I have to say the thing is absolutely phenomenal! It makes my Motorola Droid look like a 1990's flip phone!! Except for one problem the darned thing has been automatically spontaneously performing a factory reset / hard reset on itself.And it is happening at completely random times. You're sitting there playing a game, you're reading your e-mail or you just pushed the screen ON / power button to wake the phone up and unlock it and then, all of a sudden The phone reboots to the black and white Samsung startup screen, then recovery pops up and yellow writing appears that says "Formatting FOTA:", "Formatting DATA:", "Formatting CACHE:". Then the phone reboots again and comes up like you just pulled it out of the box; a full factory reset / hard reset. The contents of the SD card are thankfully fine.Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to turn on some sort of logging so that maybe I can figure out what causes it? This is now the second phone that this is happening to. We took the first phone back to Verizon the very same day we got it and they swapped it out right there for another brand new one. The second phone behaved perfectly for three whole days before it went and wiped itself. We thought for sure that the problem was with the first phone, but now it is happening with the second phone.I am going to start from scratch again, adding one app at a time making sure the thing continues to work. But there weren't any apps on the device in the first place that were really out of the ordinary.- Gmail POP3 Yahoo- Corporate E-Mail to Microsoft Exchange Server (No, it wasn't the Exchange Admin sending a kill package, I'm the Exchange Admin)

I have all of those apps and more on my Motorola Droid (also connected to the same Exchange Server) and my device is behaving just fine.I'm trying to think of reasons this might happen and I'm drawing a complete blank.
I tried searching for the question I'm about to ask and didn't find any threads so here it goes. Can someone post the steps to setting up Google Voice as visual voice mail for the Captivate? I know it's probably something very simple but I just can't figure it out ( yes, I'm a bit slow ).

View 3 Replies View RelatedIm newbie android user and so far loving it. I had a blackberry previous to my new fascinate and was happy with it but am way happier with my fascinate. Although, I'm having a problem (maybe it's normal for the droids and this phone) with my email notifications and FB notifications. I have my aol (primary) and yahoo emails on my home page but don't get notified when I have a new email. I have to physically open up the email icon. Is that normal for this phone? or is there a way to have a notification on that top bar (where txt msg notif. are) when I do get and email? Facebook know it's not a necessary thing but I was used to with my BB that I'd get a notification star on my FB icon when I had a new message/notification. Is there a way to have that on my FB here. The only way I know I have any FB notifications is when I physically open my FB icon and see a star on the notification bar at the bottom of my screen. I don't even know if fascinate and FB offer this kind of notification but if it does I'd like so enable it. I'm also having a problem syncing my fb contacts with my phone contacts. I don't know if its because my FB acct is under a different email than the gmail acct you need for the fascinate.

I am using hotmail. I had to set up gmail account because it is required with this phone but I want to use hotmail as my main e-mail account on Fascinate. Does anyone know how to set up?
I accidentally hit the speaker on the keyboard while in text mode a few times and I just assumed it was for searching BING. Last night I hit it and decided to try to search with it.... but instead what I said got typed into the text that was open!!!! I was blown away! So then I started texting my Bro-In-Law via voice and although it's not perfect, it is very neat! I wish I could read to it and train it better on my Pittsburgh-ees, but if I pause at each word and announciate, it is almost perfect. I just cant talk totally normal. All in all, that is a super cool feature that WinMobilePro could not match.... no way no how. Me likes!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the Samsung Fascinate obviously but I'm annoyed with one Android feature. I managed to get only my contacts to sync what I want (not e-mails). However, when I send text messages, the message contacts seems to all the e-mail addresses I've previously sent e-mails to.
Is there any way to get rid of that? And why the heck isn't it the same as my contacts?
When I use Bing voice search, I always get the following message "due to a temporary connection or service issue, we can't get results. Please try again later." This has been an issue over the last 10 days or so. Anyone else have this problem? I brought it to Verizon tech and they couldn't figure it out. Google voice search works fine. I speak loudly and clearly in a quiet environment, using different search terms.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a pop e-mail account set up on my incredible to check every 10 minutes for new e-mail, but it never does. the only time it checks for new mail is when I manually launch the mail app. My Gmail account works fine. I will send myself a e-mail from my gmail account to my pop e-mail account (another email address) and that email will not hit my incredible until I manually launch the mail app.

I loved the feature in Sprint's V-mail, that allowed me to connect directly to another Sprint users V-mail. It was a great time saver, allowed me to just leave the message & get on w/ my day (ok I admit it, it was mainly used to avoid talking to my mother when I knew she was in a bad mood)Since I got the Moment, even when I call my v-mail directly, said option is no longer there. Borrowed my g'friends phone for a minute, and the options is still there for her. I checked Sprint's forums, and couldn't find anything about them changing the v-mail with the Moment.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is a big disappointment for me. As reported in the "known issues" leaked document, you cannot view a PDF from the standard e-mail client. You have to save the attachment to SD then use a file explorer to find the file and view it. A huge pain!
I was sure hoping yesterday's update would fix this issue, but it did not.
If VZW and Sammy hope to make this phone a contender in the business market, this must be fixed. Email 101 guys.
I know I can use Touchdown, but don't like how it integrates with the rest of the phone.
I was pleased to see pinch and zoom on the email client, unlike the Droid X/2, but this lack of PDF attachment viewing is just unacceptable!
Just got my Fascinate and want to know if there is a way to have my phone audible/vibrate alert me when a text message comes in while I am on a voice call. I left my daughter sitting at school for 30mins the other night since I didn't see the message until I hung up from my voice call! If I can't find a way to have this feature I might have to switch to the X!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI changed the voice mail number from *86 (version default) to my Google voice number. This works when I am not answering the phone and I the caller gets connected to my GV account. But when my phone is not in coverage the caller gets my version voice mail. Appreciate if someone can correct my settings or suggest any app that does it. I am from Windows mobile world and missing those settings when you can define several settings for voice mail (unanswered, rejected, unavailable etc...)

I believe I want the Fascinate but this issue with Google Maps navigation is an issue since turn-by-turn navigation is a big feature for me. Does Bing Maps also offer turn-by-turn navigation as well? Is it voice assisted? Personally I don't care if it's Bing or Google but I don't want the Verizon one since it will require a monthly fee. As long as Bing Maps offers the same functionality as Google Maps, I'm fine.

I am finding I have to physically go into my settings, data synronization, and manually sync my mail for anything new to show up.Whats up? Is there a specific time limit set somewhere for when it checks for new mail?
