HTC EVO 4G :: Can't Make Whole Picture Your Wall Paper
Jul 18, 2010Is it me or is it impossible to make a picture from the gallery your wall paper in its full glory? they let you crop it but i cant figure out a way to make the full picture my wall paper. When you do crop it, it then zooms in on the section you cropped to make it fit the screen. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

Jun 19, 2010What do you guys prefer? i have found some amazing home screen set ups, mine stinks i have the live aquarium which is cool but hten the standard clock/weather and a few widgets. i have beautiful widgets but i dont find it to be that great. anyways, what wallpaper do u guys generally prefer. i havent found many great live wps but i also havent found a site with good normal wps either, relative to the stuff people who have sick home screens have. also, for my normal wps that i download, they come out super expanded on my home screen. i got the joker/dark knight wp and it comes up expanded on my home screen, same with other wps i pick despite the 640x480 set up.

Sep 23, 2010Anyone have this problem where when they are on a call the screen locks and you can't hang up the call until you unlock the screen or the other end hangs up? Is there a setting to not lock the screen when on a call. This is driving me nuts to always have to unlock the screen just to get to hangup the phone. From what I can tell I think it happens only when I make the call. But if a call comes in when the screen is locked it allows me to hang up after the call. I check most of the settings and i don't see any options for that...

Jan 10, 2010Is there a way to make a wall paper that spans all 6 pages of the SenseUI desktop rather than having the same image Copied to all 6 pages?
I was in the IRC room the other day, and was told by a couple of users that they had tried a few things and it wasn't possible.
Then today I was playing around the forums and Disabled SenseUI to check out the Android Home, for shits and giggles no attempt to keep it.
I set a background in Home, which spanned all 3 Home pages... when scrolling thru it actually looked like you were moving along a Image 3x the width of one screen.
When I went back to SenseUI.... that same background was there on all 6 pages no copies at all.....
Any1 kno how to make our on like this and install it on the phone? What would the resolution be on one page or multiple pages?
Samsung Fascinate :: Remove Verizon Wireless From Pattern Lock Screen
Oct 4, 2010I rooted my Samsung Fascinate. Installed Titanium Backup and managed to uninstall some bloatware.
I would like to remove the text "Verizon Wireless" from my pattern lock screen and replace it with my name.
When I rooted my HTC Eris and loaded KoasFroyo I encountered a similar situation where that ROM made it say Team AndIRC. I was able to do what I wanted by replacing eri.xml.
When I try to use ADB to push that same eri.xml file to my Fascinate I get an access denied error. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Any guidance would be appreciated. Since the phone is locked I want my name available on the front in case it is ever lost.

Nov 25, 2010Has anyone experienced this? I searched the forums and the common answer was that 3 hours was normal but it takes my phone around 8 hours to charge on both USB and wall charging.
I just got the fascinate a few days ago. Defective battery or handset? I called Verizon and they said that it can't be troubleshot.
I really like the phone but 8 hours is excessive.

Jun 22, 2010i have completed my app for the 320x480 size and i don't give two cents about dpi or density, but i want this to work on the larger formats to and i have new artwork for those resolutions for my entire app. Is there an elegant way to set up my xml layouts and artwork around resolution only? In other words a "normal" screen size could be 320x480 or it could also be 400x800 or 400x856 depending on the dpi.
where it specifically applies to only small normal screens with medium density?
how to i account for the 800 vs 854 height difference when clearly xml identifiers won't tell these two apart? My app does not use a lot of relative layout components as it is very heavy on the sprites which obviously have fixed 2D dimensions
Samsung Fascinate : Eliminating Puzzle Lock
Oct 30, 2010On my D1, I downloaded My Auto Lock App that allowed me to hit the power button and the phone would open to the last screen that was open without having to slide the green unlock which is a PITA if you are going without a lock pattern. Is there an app to allow skipping the puzzle slide. I have not yet found one.

Nov 21, 2010After being a dedicated bb user, I recently switched to a droid. I'm completely satisfied, however, I have had a small issue with my lock/power button. I've only had the phone for two weeks, but my power/lock button seems to be "stuck". I can still push it, but it's not as "click able" as when I first purchased it. I wish I could explain it better. I actually went to verizon a few days ago, and they weren't much help. The tech actually sprayed some of that air in a can stuff, which temporarily made it better. However, it now seems stuck again. Has anyone had this problem? Sorry for being such a new b!

Sep 30, 2010A few of the times that I have played a video using Video Player, I get a lock icon in the top righthand corner. At that point, the buttons do not work. Touching the screen does nothing. Nov 21, 2010I have a samsung vibrant. Every time i plug it in its charger, the lock screen will not lock amd if m doing something, the sensitivity of the screen will be thrown of. It doesn't do that if i plug,it,in a computer usb, it doesn't,do that and charges normally. Is that a wide spread issue.

(it is in the early stages) How would I go about determining the dimensions of a screen and resizing the images, etc., that this class is drawing to the screen on the fly before actually drawing them to the screen?
What I'm trying to accomplish is support for devices that have varying screen dimensions and resolutions from the same code base, with each device being scaled properly.
Android :: Apps In Relation To Different Screen Sizes - Resolutions
Jun 1, 2010I am a current iPhone 3gs user migrating over to Android this Friday and getting the Evo 4g. Now, all iPhone/iPod touch screen sizes are the same and all the hardware specs are the same for the most part, but with Android you all kinds of resolutions, screen sizes, processors, etc etc...
Are all apps made for Android stretched to accomodate bigger screen sizes? For instance, I have played with my friend's Droid on Verizon and the screen is 3.7" at a resolution of 854x480 and he has showed me games on it like Gameloft's NOVA which is a full 3D first person shooter. So his phone essentially has a bigger resolution slightly than the HTC EVO 4G but smaller screen size (3.7" vs. 4.3"). So would the same game be stretched to fit my phone?
I'm wondering with different apps, are there any conflicts in relation to different spec phones?

Aug 30, 2010My 7 year old, 5year old & 3 & 1/2 year old are able to do terrible things to my phone & computers! I hope I am one of many frustrated & forlorn parents who have great kids that are obviously a rung or 3 up the evolutionary ladder! Perhaps we should start a support group! LMAO I am new to android & so far I love it, so much that you can do on this platform & as i am a lateral thinker it is so much fun being able to get apps that seem to allow my though processes & not miss a beat, what a delight. NOt too impressed with the pattern lock at the moment though but I am hopeful of finding a solution there or admiring my Very expensive paper weight that might have been so much fun!! I am currently very tentative about all the programming stuff but I guess in time & with help from all the learned folk out there I will be able to have the best & most productive tool completely customized for me that I could imagine. Do let me know if I am deluded as it would save me much heart ache, Hope to be educated well here so thanks in advance for your patience & assistance!
