Samsung Epic 4G :: Mounting It To Apple Computer Via USB
Oct 29, 2010Has anyone successfully mounted the Epic to an Apple computer? If so, what were the steps? Can you pull video off the sdcard or just music and pics?

Samsung Epic 4G :: Mounting Phone With Pc And SD Card
Nov 15, 2010I have been mounting my phone with my pc for quite awhile, then one day, it decided to be difficult. At first it took a couple, replugs to get it to recognize the SD card. Then, It stopped recognizing it at all. Depending on what USB port I use, I get different results from I/O error, to device not recognized.
Things I have tried:
-Every driver known to mankind.
-Plugging in every single usb port on the computer (including mobo)
-Disconnecting every usb device except for the phone
-Formatting the SD card (lost my photos forgot they were on there)
-Only used STOCK cable.
I'm out of ideas, and sprint claims this is not a problem with the phone on all the forum posts I've seen with similar problems. Has anyone actually found a solution for this other than thinking plugging it in the back of the computer actually fixes anything?
HTC EVO 4G :: Mounting It To Computer - Should It Show 2 Volumes?
Nov 13, 2010Wasn't sure if this should be in the troubleshooting section, since there might not be anything wrong. When I mount my EVO, all I see is my 8 gig micro SD card and no other volume. I was assuming that if I wanted to root, I'd need to actually see the EVO its self and not just the SD card.

Sep 21, 2010I have read the previous threads, but still having no luck getting my Samsung Epic to show in My Computer. So I decided to post a new thread. After connecting the phone to my PC, I select Mount and turn on USB storage on the phone then windows shows "Found New Hardware" then asks me to install the new hardware. When I install the hardware, new device shows under "Other Devices" in Device Manager with a yellow icon (?) in front of it as if it is still unrecognized device. I am not allowed to install the drivers on my PC since it is a company PC. My coworkers did not have to install drivers to get the EPIC show in My Computer.

Aug 31, 2010Okay, so if you are freaking out, or can't figure out why your new Epic isn't being recognized by your computer, calm down. Some of you are probably already searching for drivers. Ya I already went through that freak out when I got my Vibrant. Okay, to mount your phone, and have your computer recognize the internal/external memory, do this:Connect your phone to your computer via USB. Give it a few seconds.Next, PULL DOWN your notification bar. Next, tap your finger on "USB CONNECTED"You then get a message asking if you would like to mount. Tap "mount" confirming you would like to do so.Enjoy, your computer should now recognize the internal/external memory.BTW, reverse this process before pulling the usb cable out. Always remove a cable safely, otherwise the data can get corrupt. Don't just yank your cable out.Edit: some of you may also find the following useful. Hopefully the Epic is similar to the Vibrant in these setting

Aug 23, 2010I was trying to install the latest Froyo update on my new galaxy i9000 and ran into problems. The update was JP3. First the phone kept on flashing i.e. screen off and on. and then i had to reboot the phone and same problem. I tried to flash it again with odin but this time I got an error message:
Update Media please wait
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0) (No such file or directory) E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount SDCARD:"
Your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions
copy default media content failed.
When I boot it moves past the Galaxy I9000m screen shows me the galaxy screen with animation and sound, the screen then goes of leaving me with a black screen and the buttons lit.
Now, no matter what I do I kept on getting this message. I have a feeling that somehow it messed up the internal sd card of my device.
Is there a way I could repartition my card (if that would solve it) and then reinstall a froyo 2.2 update.

Oct 8, 2009I've been reading these forums for a while now, and some of these posts are the reason I got a Galaxy myself, imported from Germany
So far I totally love it, but there's this small issue that made me register and finally make a post here.
My previous phone was an Apple iPhone, but I dropped it so the screen broke, and I didn't bother with trying to fix it, so I decided to try something new.
Now, what I loved about the iPhone was the headset/handsfree that came with it. It's the best I've tried so far, and that's why I really wanna use it instead of the crap one Samsung bundled with the Galaxy.
Now here's the problem:
When I use the Apple headset with my Galaxy, the vocals on music doesn't play, unless I press and hold the answer/hang up/shuffle button on the handsfree. And because of this, it does ofcourse not work as a answer/hang up button. The bundled handsfree works as it should, with normal sound, and buttons.
I have no idea if this is a hardware 3.5mm issue, or a software issue, but all I know is the Apple headset works fine on my brother's HTC Hero, which makes me believe it's less likely to be a software issue.
I'm also reluctant of buying another handsfree, incase the Galaxy only works with the bundled one.
Oh, almost forgot, if it's of any use, I'm running the II5 firmware, updated through NPS.

Sep 9, 2010Has anyone figured out how to do this? When I hold my finger on a text and choose forward, I only get the box where I have to type in each contact individually. Is there a way to show a list of my contacts when forwarding or at least a way to forward to a group? I have groups set up, but there doesnt seem to be a way to access them when forwarding. I have tried every option and every menu and cant find out how to do this on the Epic?
