Anyone else having issues with the screen staying on? I hit the power button on the side to turn off the screen and it pops right back on within seconds. Also how do you get the screen to lock? particularly during a call so i don't hang up on them.

I just downloaded the media hub update today and noticed that now when i get a text message my notification light stays solid instead of blinking...This is annoying because it could cause the battery to drain and it just looks weird...Is there any setting i can mess with, or has anyone else had this problem? I also notice that when i text i don't hear the typing anymore. It's just silent until i click send...Kind of weird...I'm thinking about uninstalling and re-installing handcent..

I hit the power button to turn the screen off & it lights right back up as soon as I hit it; I hit it again to cut it off, & again it turns right back on; then when I do get it to shut off, about a minute or 2 lata it turns on again & will stay on until I fight to turn it off. I'm jus checking before I hard reset it & see if there's an app causing this.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got my Samsung Epic two days ago and I've noticed that each time I reboot the phone the shortcuts I've placed on my desktop (could be apps or contacts) get lost, but my widgets remain.
Has any one else experienced this? Any fixes? I just installed the 2.1 Upgrade1 on Saturday right after first turning the phone on.
1) Is there a way to setup a password to open the phone (when you turn phone on)? If my phone gets lost or stolen, I'd like to have it password protected so they cannot get into my phone.
If not, maybe there's an app for this that someone can suggest?
2) How do I turn off Google Mail? When I am home, I don't need my phone to also be running in the background checking my email - as I can check my email from my laptop.
My Samung Epic 4g was working fine until I plugged in the charger and it WOULD NOT CHARGE. tried another charger, nothing. Tested outlet, yes, it provides electric. So I turned off the Epic and IT WILL NOT TURN ON. Took battery out for a while, put it back in nothing.

Has anyone had this problem at all because I'm about to lose my mind in 43.5 seconds.
I tried plugging it into different outlets, plugging it into my laptop, plugging it into my desktop, plugging it into my car....nothing works
I didn't see anything that seamed like it would work in the market that could do this. I want to use my phone as the web cam for my ps3. There was one that had to have accompanying software on my computer. Could a program do this? Maybe pick which camera to use.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn pitch darkness I want my screen to be really dim,in order not to get the glare etc. However even when adjusting the screen brightness level to its lowest it is still very bright for a dark light setting. Is there any way, maybe through an app, that I can make the Epic even dimmer?

View 5 Replies View RelatedEverytime i reboot my phone, I get bunch of problems with my phone. when I try to open the phone dialer I get a force close on com.google.process.acore. Sometimes it completely prevents me from using the phone.
Then on occasion the phone freaks out and shuts the screen off, but leaves the navigation lights on the bottom of the phone. At that point the phone is completely unusable for about 1-2minutes. Sometimes when it comes back on, it starts rerunning the media scanner.
I'm pretty sure my home screen would do landscape with keyboard closed the first couple of days I had the phone and now it wont do it unless the keyboard is out. Anyone else have the same issue?

View 17 Replies View RelatedToday I dropped my phone from about chest level. And when I picked it up the screen wouldn't turn back on. There are no any cracks on the screen and all of the touch stuff still works, what i mean is when the phone is on i can still unlock and scroll down i can feel it vibrate when I do so. I have tried pulling the battery and restarting and nothing will help. Does anyone else have any idea of whats wrong or how to fix it.?

Then today it did it when I set it down on a table, and when I turned it back on the battery went from 42 to 12 percent. I then reset the phone and it was at 24 percent. Is anyone else having this problem? Could the battery just be losing contact?

Also looked everywhere in the sounds menu and nothing - am I missing something? There is an option in my EVO but I find nothing in the Epic 4G - inside our house we get poor reception (Airave here I come!), so the Epic connects regularly to a Verizon tower and that sound is driving me crazy!

Sometimes, the screen will display if I keep clicking the power button one-hundred times, but other than that it won't budge. Everything thing else works when I press the power button, the keyboard lights up, the home button and other buttons light, just not the screen. Like I said, I have to repeatedly press the power button so that in a slight chance, the screen might display.

the onluy thing i got with data is USE APN toglle(if the dta connection toggle doesnt work you can try this) not sure what it means but i want to see if that will help me to get a better battery.
Whenever I get an email that has a photo attached to it and I hit preview, I get the photo. If I get another email and I hit the same preview button, I get this photo from the previous email even know it is saying it has downloaded it. The small icon shows the new photo but the larger preview always shows the old photo. Even when I download it to the device it is the same , older photo.
It seems like the photo stays in the cache and unless I reboot, I can't see the new attached photo. I don't want to load a cleaner because I want to keep all my passwords/cookies etc.

I've had my Epic for about a week and have noticed that from time to time that the screen flashes VERY briefly to the home screen/lock screen when inside an app.
It happens when I'm in the browser, email app, etc. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason behind it.
