Is there a maximum number of apps that can be installed on the Epic as long as you do not exceed the memory ?
Will the "app" icon show ALL the apps, no matter how many there are ?

Just tried to install swype and when I login to the swype installer I get "You have installed Swype Beta the maximum number of times." I am going to email them and see if I can get my account reset or not but if not that sucks. Edit I posted this in the root forum because no stock would be installing this over and over.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow can I find the serial number on my epic 4g? (it's a Sprint, Samsung Galaxy S, Epic 4G). The user guide says "the serial number is located on a nameplate inside the battery compartment". There's nothing under the compartment lid, but under the battery there is a "sticker" with many numbers but none of them say "serial number". The numbers I found under the battery and on the box are called "RS-SCK", "RS-KOI", "RS", "MEID - Hex", and "MEID - DEC". Are one of these the actual serial number?I purchased this 4 days ago direct from the Sprint store. All I want to do is get the serial number recorded for my records.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt's been a day and a half since we brought home our Epic and the number is still porting over from Verizon. I've called sprint twice and they said they couldn't do anything. When I ported my number to my Evo from ATT, it only took like 10 minutes.
Anyone having issues like that?

I can barely hear the ring tone much less the notifications and I downloaded songs but that doesn't increase the volume for them.
I am using a samsung capitvate on ATT. Android 2.1 I installed google voice and created a google voice account. I am able to send and rec sms through google voice and my new GV # but I can only send sms from my att number. I cannot receive any sms from my att number and people who are sending them do not get any kind of message they just get lost in the network somewhere. People in general and my boss are getting mad because they think I am just ignoring them.

With all the satisfaction with this phone I couldn't imagine that this would be the case.The Epic 4g can/will run apps just the same as the EVO (no rooting involved), no unexpected restrictions?

I have been looking at the multitouch capabilities of the SDK versions > 5, the MotionEvent.getPointerCount() appears to return the number of presses detected on the screen. *What is the maximum number of presses this function will ever return?*
I went digging through the android source code for the MotionEvent class, and couldn't deduce anything from that, I am wondering if the maximum number of presses is heavily hardware dependent? I modified the MultiTouchVis code by Robert Green (from Battery Powered Games) to report the number of presses reported by MotionEvent.getPointerCount() each frame and on my Milestone it consistently reports a maximum of 2 presses. Is this a hardware thing, or does the sdk limit it to 2 presses?
Is there any way to register more than 2 presses at a time? I'm making a musical application and would like the user, for example, to be able to play chords by pressing multiple keys at any one time.
I just received my new Epic and I cannot download anything from the Android Market.I have my GMail working; however, each time I try to download Google Voice or Maps (or any other app for that matter) I get "Download Unsuccessful" immediately.

View 2 Replies View RelatedGot the Samsung Desk Dock for easy re-charging and using phone on nightstand. If I use the Samsung Desk Home app from the market, that app automatically detects that the phone is in the dock and runs the app. However, no other app is able to detect that the phone is docked, even with the Desk/Home app uninstalled (i.e. not the default). My understanding is that the phone should send a signal to Android if the device is being docked. Then Android sends a broadcast to all apps that the device has been docked. I have tested with two different apps which are designed to run upon the phone being docked and neither detects the phone being docked. Without the Samsung dock app loaded, there is no change when the phone is docked. It seems like only the Samsung app is capable of detecting docking. Am I missing something? How can I get the Epic to send out the "normal" signal to other apps upon being docked?

Is there an easy way to export a list of all the free Apps I have installed so I can print them out? Too lazy to write them all down but will if I have too. ;<) Also, not quite as important to me but is there an easy to export all the text messages and import them into the replacement phone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I did a hard reset of my Vibrant a few days ago (delete user data). I was able to reinstall most of my apps very easily because the market still had them listed in the downloads section. The only problem is, the preinstalled apps were all reset to their original versions, and I can't update them. The two that I'm concerned with in particular are Google Maps and T-Mobile My Account. If I look at them in the market, the only control available is "Open". "Uninstall" is greyed out and disabled. Basically, the market thinks that I already have the latest version installed, even though I don't, so it doesn't give me the option to update. The My Account app is completely broken. If I try to run it, it just sends me to the market saying that I need to update it. Then of course, the market doesn't give me that option, so I can't use the app at all.

These are MY apps on my vibrant:
WHERE - a restaurant finder. Pretty good, I've had issues with the app pinpointing my location, but could have been a fluke.
YELP - another restaurant finder.
FACEBOOK - no introduction needed. This app really needs an update. Keeps switching me b/w the app and the mobile site. Some of my mail threads on fb stop halfway and I can't see new replies.
MOTRIS - a tetris style game. Kind of good but hard to move the pieces around.
TASK MANAGER - an app killer. Pretty good. Could be a lot better, though.
FANDANGO - an app that helps you find theaters near you. Good.
What do you have?
Relatively new to android so please bare with, A few weeks after purchasing i had to uhh update firmware etc etc ..which basically removed all apps/games i had previously purchased/installed off of the market .. Id just like to know if the new update's going to do the same .. not real keen on losing a great deal of paid apps
