i did that 1 click lag fix and now when i plug in my captivate in my laptop it doesnt show the mount option....doesnt show the little symbol on the top left showing its connected. i tried turning on debugging and nothing....i turned my phone off and on still nothing....

I just got the samsung captivate and i have all my ringtone on my SD card, but when i put the card in it doesnt show my ringtones when i wanna use them. I cant even find them to move them..also what is the talk app on our phone..i know its for chatting but how do u use it?

And my second question, my phone doesnt connect to my computer right. I plugged it in, it said it didnt have the right software or something, so i went and downloaded the the Vista 64 bit thing thats stickied on here. I plug it in, and the "you have the wrong software" thing was gone, but nothing else happpened. The screen says its connected and it vibrates and i hear the noise thru the computer, so what am i doing wrong. I read somewhere that you pull down the little bar at the top and hit dock or something like that. I cant do that. If i can pull it down theres no buttons to hit. Can someone walk me thru this process? FIXED
I have tried and tried. Got it to mount once with USB debugging turned on. but that was just once and I haven't got it to work again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ATT Samsung Captivate i897. I can get it into download mode and recovery mode. When it boots up it goes through the ATT splash screen, 3G splash screen and then screen goes black. nothing brings up the screen. home buttons are green. In recovery mode error message states can't mount dbdata error. I really just need to get my data (pics) off of the phone. Is there a way to recover this data either forensically or hacking without deleting the data on the internal drive? When I connect it to my computer it does not recognize it? I tried installing the drivers, tried Kies, Recuva, etc. with no luck. I am using a Windows 7 machine 32bit. I have access to a Macbook Pro?

So I thought logically I can place my dialog show at the beginning before processing begins, and cancel it at the end. My device HTC desire doesnt show SMS sender name upon recieving sms(local sms), instead showing the sender number.I am having this sender in my contact list. There is no issues while recieving international SMS, only having problem with local sms. But when the same person calls me, its displaying the caller name correctly.
What would be the reason?
I am in QATAR where country code is +974.
I tried the following.Contacts saved with the country code(+974)
- then its showing the name when sms is recieved, but call recieving
stopped showing caller name - only number is shown.
One thing i noticed is, while recieving SMS, the sender number is preceeded by country code(+974) while recieving a call only caller number is there.
Its working when u click it but doest show that i downloaded it. no way to unistall.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEarlier today, I go to mount my evo as a disk drive to copy some files over and I'm no longer able to. When I plug in the usb to the pc (win7 ultimate x64), it starts to charge the phone, but I don't get the option in the notification panel to choose what I want it to do when I plug it in. I've check the phone settings and it's still supposed to ask each time it's plugged in. The sd card is recognized in astro, I even put it back in the hero just to make sure, and everything is there and working. I've tried on my pc (16 different usb slots) and my laptop (4 usb) and neither one will allow me to mount.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI was able to successfully configure the stock email app on my android phone (Samsung Captivate). However when I went to "Email check frequency" in the settings to enable push, it did not allow me to do so. According to Android, there is an option in this setting called "Automatic (push)" other than polling options. In my case I just had polling options like "5 mts", "10 mts", "Never", and so on. But I don't have the "automatic push" option!
I checked in with my system admin. He said that they have enabled push from their end. In fact, we are on the corporate email of Google apps. So it is like a gmail except that it has my corporate email address. So this should have been a piece of cake, no?
So awhile back I changed my google account password by logging onto my home computer. Now when I try and check emails from my captivate it says invalid user name or password. When I try to go to setting it doesn't giver me the option to change password for the phone. Has anyone else had this problem?

Under settings, applications, USB settings, there is an option for PC Internet that wasnt there originally. When I try to go to software update, it says Communication Failed. Unable to connect to ATT servers.
Coincidence that this started now, or is there something wrong? I reset the phone twice, and reloaded Odin twice. Everything else seems to work fine.
I have an ATT Captivate Galaxy S...when using Astro to install my APK files...it tells me its not from the market and to protect me blah blah blah...is there a workaround option to force it to install? I heard ATT removed that option

And when i close the phone, like lock it .. the Led keeps blinking green ? It stayed like this for almost two days .. and then just then I signed up for this forum it sent me and email to my phone .. surprisingly .. my Led blinks , the phone vibrates and GMAIL shows on the status bar ..What can I do to prevent the GMAIL &continuously Led blinking .. to happen again ? View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an issues and hopefully somebody can help. Ok I have an Evo and it wont read SD cards. Whne I put in an SD card the option to mount or format the card are grayed out and it shows not available space as if there is no card in there.
So I figure its a bad slot so I take it to a close by repair center and the guy lets me try a card he had in another android phone (hero I think) and it it was recognized by my phone. So I go it must be that my card bad.
I go home and put the card in my laptop and format it and it formats fine. When I put it in the Evo still not recognized. I put the card in my PS3, it's recognized so I format it there too. I put it in the Evo still not recognized.
I can't be the slot in my evo cause I put the guys card in myself, turned it on myself and saw for myself that it recognized the card. Anybody know whats up with this? I have official 2.2 but this was going on BEFORE I updated to froyo. Can anybody help?
I recently purchased an 8gb sdmicro card for my samsung moment, which i put in my phone, then got home tried to hook it up to my pc with the usb cable...nothning happened, but i got this error warning or so talking about usb malfunction or something, heres a screen shot of what i saw popped up. do i need to install new usb drivers for the phone? also i can hear the pc making that dun dun,... dun dun sound when u plug in a usb device, but it keeps doing it over and over... while the phones charing thru it.

Where is the setup of the default email application so I can remove/delete the application? Gmail application - HOW / WHERE can you make it default to show pictures in an email? Not liking all the black setup applications and menus? If I get a different theme does that change all menus and color of default applications like messaging and setup menus/everything?
