Anyone had issues trying to upload large files to YouTube over 200MB? (and yes, this was tested over home wifi)
It tells me that it attempts to upload, fails right away and then attempts again in 1 min, etc and so the cycle goes.

So what is the problem? (it was recorded in 720) I had to download some crappy 3pg to avi converter so that I could upload it.
2. My second question, is why is it so choppy? Here is video of my 14 month old son eating a lime for the first time. Sadly, the video cuts in and out. Played like this right after the recording on the phone.
I'm writing an Android app where users can upload video to Youtube. I'd like the Youtube tag field to be pre-filled with a tag that I set. I'd also like the UI to work like this: user clicks on an Upload button, user goes straight to Youtube upload intent (rather than picking from a Chooser), tag field is pre-filled for them.
Is this possible using ACTION_SENDTO?
Currently I have this code, which just launches a Chooser, which really isn't what I want:

Why won't a video upload to YouTube via 3g? It tells me it will only work by wifi. Is there a setting that needs to be changed?
View 11 Replies View RelatedFamily gathering yesterday. I took a 3 minute video on the full settings and tried to upload it to YouTube from the phone and every time I try and upload it, even after reboots, I get a message popping up telling me that the file must be under 1GB. It is only 130MB.

I'm logged in my youtube account and m connected to my wifi at my house. But the problem that m having is that everytime i go to upload the video, It continues to say Waiting to Retry.. It keeps saying that for like 15 minutes until eventually it says Failed Network Error.. The wifi is working fine when trying to browse Internet. I deleted the cache and data in youtube as well.. I just cant understand what would be causing this, but its really annoying.. I really wish someone could help me please.. I don't know what else to do. I even created a new youtube account to sync with my gmail, and that didn't work either

So every so often I go into Settings and then go to Software Update, click "Check for Update", click OK and for the past couple weeks it has ALWAYS told me that it failed to connect to AT&T's servers. If I try and check again it tells me that 24 hours has not elapsed since I made my last request. (Even though that request failed).
I've tried it in Airplane mode with Wi-Fi enabled and I've tried it in normal mode but using Wi-Fi and in 3G mode (not connected to any Wi-Fi network).
The day I got my phone I was able to retrieve an update (so it used to work) and I have not rooted my phone or "mucked with it" in any fashion.
I don't know if this is TouchWiz/OEM software getting in the way, or a limitation of Android 2.1, or what. But when I try to upload a video I've taken, it's forcing me to upload using WiFi. My 3G connection is not too bad (approx. 75 kilobytes/sec), so I wouldn't mind waiting a couple minutes for a video to upload, versus buying a WiFi AP for home, setting it up, taking up space and electricity, etc.

View 14 Replies View RelatedAfter using both the EVO and SGS for weeks, I find the SGS inferior to the EVO in very few ways. The most major one that it being a 3G phone, the Internet speed is of course slower than the EVO's (I have 4G in my area, Los Angeles). I enjoy watch Youtube and SprintTV on the EVO as both the resolution and streaming experience very good, however after watch the low res Youtube on the SGS a few times, I can't make myself watch it under 3G anymore (wifi is better but still not as good as EVO on 4G). But since we can consistently get over 1 meg on 3G, why can't the SGS do better in Youtube video playback? Is there any program that can trick the phone in thinking it is on wifi and playback in higher resolution?

So I'm an Android Newb. Just get my captivate yesterday. I got my wife one and myself one. Among the many questions I have, the most concerning is, why does my youtube app freeze, and have to be force closed, when I try to log into my account? I used my wife's and I'm able to log in no problem. The only difference is I have a few different apps then her, but the problem has occurred since I purchased the phone. Is there anyway to uninstall and reinstall this native application? I've even tried logging into someone elses app and the same thing happens!

Well today, I noticed different resolutions. Is 1280x720 the 720p resolution? If so, then I may have figured it out myself.
In the Youtube App on Captivate:I tried to search for this song "being a dickhead's cool" , and it just won't show the search results. When I try to change the SafeSearch settings, the option is grayed out. WTF, I feel like I have an Apple phone. PS, funny song by the way.

When I touch it, either on 3g or wifi, it tries to refresh and comes back with the same message. All of my other data-related things work. It is just this widget. I have tried removing it from the desktop and then placing it there again, and this does nothing to help either. I have rebooted the phone numerous times as well. Again, this didn't help.
is anybody else having a problem with their youtube app widget after the "gps fix" update? after the update i noticed it only had the search option (little magnifying glass) and no longer the upload video (little camcorder) button on the widget. after i add the widget and use with the phone for a little bit (sometimes for less than 5 minutes) the widget will change itself back to having the upload button option but at that point the search and upload buttons just highlight orange when i press them and then it does nothing. sometimes im able to click on the video being promoted on the widget and it will open and play but for the most part the widget is un-clickable. im not sure if it has anything to do with me downloading launcher pro but i had that on my last captivate before i exchanged it and currently my phone is all stock haven't rooted it or anything yet.

Anyone knows if a 1000mA car if enough?? Tonight, I was watching a Youtube HD video on 4G network (2/3 bars on 4G) with the phone connected to a 1000mA USB wall charger. After 10min, the battery dropped 2%...Well, even 1000mA cannot compensate the consumption of the battery. The power consumption of this phone is ridiculous. Something must be wrong with the system/circuit design.
