View 4 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that the battery meter on my captivate (SRE + lagfix installed) is very inaccurate. For instance, I got the low battery notification and plugged my phone in when it got to 8%. However, the second I plug my phone in the battery meter jumps to 34. I unplugged it and sure enough, the battery stayed at 34%. Anyone having this problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there is an app to change the battery indicator to a true percentage? I know of apps that you can put on the homescreen, but the indicator in the status bar is never right. Yesterday I had 25% left and it was still showing 50%.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI added BatteryTime to one of my home screens and it asked if I wanted to display the % in the notifications to which I said OK to (it displays in the ongoing notifications and stays displayed in the top left corner of the phone). But now I'd like to remove it from there. I cant find this in the settings? I tried removing the program from the home screen, then re-adding it, but it didn't give me the options like I was displayed initially. Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just saw my first review on the Epic for Sprint and saw that it has an LED flash and an LED indicator for missing calls, etc. Why would Samsung give Sprint users a better phone than us? I sure would have liked the LED's on my captivate. Man that makes me upset. Why wouldn't they have all the same features on every phone in the Galaxy series.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've come up with an idea for a battery status indicator application. On my old Windows Mobile phone I had an application(abcPowerMeter) which could show the current power consumption of the phone. Like this: If we can get this on the Galaxy, then it can be coupled with the existing battery status information to give a pretty good estimate of how long the battery is going to last under current load.Instead of showing a notoriously unreliable and counterintuitive green bar the phone would show something like this in the tray.
View 6 Replies View RelatedStock battery indicator in the status bar was bugging me, since it was constantly showing more charge than all other battery apps (widgets, Spare Parts). After looking in
/system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable/stat_sys_battery.xml
I could see that Samsung changed battery level thresholds compared to other Android releases (sources found on net). I have made a mod which changes the levels to the ones in the right column (source). Tested only on this 1.6 firmware: Baseband version I7500XXJB2, Build number Donut.XXJB6. Do not change /system/framework/framework-res.apk directly, the phone might not boot if it is not signed again after changing! Make all necessary backups!
You will need Metamorph to apply it, but since we have only 1.21 MB available on /system partition with this firmware, we will have to move Maps.apk to /data/app. The procedure (if you are not sure what each step does, do not proceed):
1. root the phone
2. copy busybox to /data/local/bin and give it execute permissions
3. install Metamorph from the Market
4. mount /system as RW (via "Root explorer", for example)
5. Run Metamorph. It will check for necessary files, and copy zip to /system/bin/zip. You can move it to /data/local/bin/zip to save some space on /system, and create symlink with this: ln -s /data/local/bin/zip /system/bin/zip
6. copy attached Galaxy-BatteryFix-v1.0.zip to /sdcard/AndroidThemes
7. move /system/app/Maps.apk to /data/app. It seems that Maps work fine from that location, after reboot.
8. apply theme from Metamorph
9. reboot
If you have problems with Metamorph and copying zip app, run this command:
ln -s /data/local/bin/busybox /system/bin/cp (after renaming /system/bin/cp to cp.old).
To restore the original, use Galaxy-BatteryFixRestore-v1.0.zip.
I seem to have disabled the battery percentage indicator that was previously displayed while the phone was charging. It used to say '95%. Charging' and now it says only 'Charging'. Does anyone know how to bring the percentage back? I have the H7 firmware.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I have about 50% battery left, the indicator in the notification bar makes it seem like I have 70-80% left. Does this happen to anyone else? Just wandering if anyone else noticed this or maybe it's just me. I've had it happen to my rooted G1 before and it was a software issue.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Milestone with Android 2.1. I'd like an app which shows the battery level in the notification bar. Nothing fancy, no estimation of remaining battery life nor fancy eye candy. If it can show a more precise reading than the Milestone built-in one, which only decreases in 10% intervals, fine, but only if this isn't a drain on the battery. I know there are several such apps, but which do you think is the best for my needs? There are so many it's hard to try them all and choose. I just want something basic and simple which doesn't drain the battery. I tried "battery indicator" and "battery status pro"; they both do what I need, but I'm afraid they might be an additional drain on the battery.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a Droid X2 for almost 2 years, and as phones usually do, the battery life became pretty bad. It would get to 5% and then quickly die halfway through the day.
I purchased a new battery, and found it to be just as bad (supposedly). It would be down to 5% by noon without much usage, so I thought maybe the problem was with my phone and not an old battery. I'd just turn it off or try to find a charger...
It took me a few days to realize that it lasts hours past when it gets to 5%. HOURS. It reached 5% at about 1pm EST today, I used it my whole commute home on the train, made a two 5-10 minute phone calls this evening, and now past 9pm it still hasn't died.
So, it's not the battery. It's not the worst problem to have... but it would be really nice to know how much battery I have left.
Note: I rooted my phone about 1 week before I got the new battery.
So I painfully watched my Cappy's battery door crushed under my friend's car as one of their "harmless" joke. Now there's not a single site on the internet selling these doors, and I'm desperate. I found dummy/display Captivates though, so I was just wondering if anyone knows if the dummy battery door can replace the REAL door by any chance?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my primary computer crashed and I had to reinstall all my programs and restore files from a backup. I had been syncing my Outlook calendar with my Gmail account using Google Calendar Sync which would then sync with my Captivate. When I reinstalled Outlook and synced with Gmail, it created duplicates of all my appointments. The only way to fix this was to delete all my appointments in Gmail and resync. Unfortunately, it didn't remove the duplicates from my phone. In fact, I have triplicates of many appointments. I thought I could just remove the Gmail account from my phone and add it back. Nope, my phone says that it's required by some programs and can only be removed through a factory reset. I thought that maybe I had to have a Gmail account on the phone for it to work so I added another one. I then attempted to delete the original. Nope, still wouldn't let me. Since that wasn't the problem I tried to delete the newly added account. Nope, no can do. So am I understanding correctly that there is no way to remove an account once it's been added without doing a factory reset?
