My auto timeout is set to 15 seconds yet the past day it just stays on until I manually turn it off....anyone had this problem?
I have tried switching the auto timeout amount multiple times...still just sits here until I manually turn it off.

View 5 Replies View Relatedso you know when you use this phone , it turns off like every 30 -40 sec when we not using it , we have to turn on the screen by press the power button on the side. THEN I HAVE TO unlock by slide.is there anyway i can click on the screen to show up the screen to unlock .

Every so often (at least once a day) the Screen Timeout setting will change so that it's not set to anything (no bubble filled) and screen will not turn off spontaneously. It, in fact, seems to turn the screen on when this happens. I find the screen on when I had physically turned it off. This is wreaking havoc with my battery life.

How do I get the screen on my Captivate to turn off (and stay off) while I have it plugged in? As it stands, my screen dims, but does not turn off. If I hit the power button, it will turn off, but as soon as I get a notification it will turn back on and stay on. I have the screen settings set to turn my screen off after being idle for 30 seconds. This works, but only when it is not plugged in.

View 10 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having a problem of not having the screen turn on when you press the power button from sleep? It doesn't happen often but it does happen. This is my second Captivate as my last one would shut itself off randomly and that phone also had this problem.Yes, I make sure I pressed the power button and waited a couple seconds to make sure it just wasn't lag but I can guarantee you it is not. Like I said, it doesn't happen all the time but maybe once every 2 days. I'm guessing it's a slight problem with other users as it happened on my last phone but I'm not sure. Hopefully it's a software issue.

I've tried restarting the phone which helps but eventually it starts acting up again. As i type this, I haven't touched the phone in about 3 mins and the screen is still on. Any help? I;m wondering if it's an app I installed?

When I plug my phone in to charge, once it reaches full charge, I'm used to seeing the screen come on for a few seconds showing "Fully Charged." But since the update, the screen never turns back off. I can plug it in overnight, and in the morning, the screen is on, sitting there displaying "Fully Charged."

1) My husband's Moment is paired with the bluetooth in our car. I know its paired because it shows up on the list of devices on the Moment but it fails to automatically connect to the car when bluetooth is on and he starts the car. This worked fine with his Treo previously and I'm pretty sure, worked with the Moment for the first coupld of times after pairing. It will connect if I do it manually but that's a pain! I have reviewed all the settings and can't find anything wrong . . .
2) Again, on my husband's Moment there seems to be a program that's running which turns on his screen and leaves it on! We hit the "end" button to turn it off but it will come back on later (I "ended" twice during the course of the night last night, a few hours apart). I have the screen timeout set to 15 secs and no other notifications/alerts in any program that would (I think) cause the screen to illuminate and not time out. Its obviously a concern for battery life and just plain annoying.
Every time the screen blanks after timeout it locks the phone - this is inconvenient because every time I pick the phone up to use I have to unlock it. is there any way to stop this - I would prefer it to never lock unless I use the power/lock button.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI had the weird issue of my screen staying on after texts, missed calls, etc.to the point that it would continue to drain the battery if I let it.The only way to remedy this was seemingly to activate the puzzle lock piece.On a missed text, call, etc., the screen would turn on to notify me with a visible puzzle lock screen, but then shut off after literally 1 second.Now I feel like I'm in a race against my own phone to detect a text and rip it out of my pocket to swipe the screen before it goes black and I have to hit the sleep/power button to turn it back on and swipe it that way.It's stupid.Yes, I want the screen to not be on all day, but damn.1 second? Is there any happy medium?

Now this problem. the phone will not stay asleep after timeout or end button . I have to restart the phone when it does this to make it work normal for a a short while... then usually every day... just a few hours after a restart, it does it again.
So its very consistent, very annoying. Does it with apps or no apps, nothing running or everything running, with service, or with out service.... doesn't matter.
As you can see in the vid, extremely occasionally "shaking" the phone will make it stop. but as im typing this now, its back on again. most of the time shaking doesn't do anything. Next time i may try chunking it at my fireplace
Anyone who's GPS that may be working know how turn by turn with google maps or whatever works in egde or even non service areas? I used to be on verizon and never had this issue on their much better network, but I was just curious how good it is on AT&T, I have yet to find out because of the GPS issue on this phone.

While trying to set it up for someone I noticed that hitting the power button doesn't lock the phone and you have to wait for the screen to timeout, and then it still is iffy when it locks. How do I manually lock the screen with out the time out? Hopefully someone can help me.
