View 5 RepliesIs there anyway to delete this and just have the samsung logo on startup? i already deleted all the preinstalled ATT crap that comes with the phone with titanium backup (i just deleted them did not even backup will never use them anyway. after i did that phone seems to be better for me. also i did delete that annoying swish sound at startup but it also took away the samsung startup sound and i like that one. why is it that everyphone for att has there logo or some other att crap on it but the damn iPhone is the only phone clean without any att crap on it -_- i switched over from iPhone 4 could not be more happy. also is there a way to remove the att logo on the top of the phone im talking about the logo next to the speaker.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my Captivate, sometimes when I boot up (turn on phone) it does not make any sound. I prefer it that way, but must have turned it "off" inadvertently. Not sure what I did - is it an app I downloaded maybe, or perhaps a certain keystroke?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI know some of you have been wanting to get rid of that annoying startup sound on your phone. Here's what you'll need....(some instructions copied from Maerlim to save time)
You'll need the Android SDK (guide to download and install is here)
You'll need the USB drivers (Stickied post in this forum)
You'll need root access (look for the Captivate Root thread by chaoscentral)
You'll need Busybox (available on the market after you root the phone)
Connect USB to phone with USB Debugging ON
Open a Windows Command prompt in the SDK install directory
cd tools
adb shell
su
cd etc
*******************
I suggest backing up the file before deleting
cp PowerOn.wav /sdcard/
*******************
rm PowerOn.wav
exit
exit
THAT'S IT! I renamed the Windows 7 logon .wav file to PowerOn.wav and copied it to the /etc directory on the phone played it on startup, so you should be able to put whatever you like in there!
If you want to copy a file there.....
Open a Windows Command prompt in the SDK install directory
cd tools
adb push "the location and name of the file on your pc" /sdcard (example adb push %userprofile%DesktopPowerOn.wav /sdcard)
adb shell
su
cp /sdcard/PowerOn.wav /etc
exit
exit
Other than making a Goldcard from an SD / installing a generic rom / rooting, is there a simpler way to remove O2 branded splash screens from startup?

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust had a quick question. I'm new here and new to Android in general, so hopefully this isn't asked often. How do I get the screen on my Captivate to turn off (and stay off) while I have it plugged in? As it stands, my screen dims, but does not turn off. If I hit the power button, it will turn off, but as soon as I get a notification it will turn back on and stay on. I have the screen settings set to turn my screen off after being idle for 30 seconds. This works, but only when it is not plugged in.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy auto timeout is set to 15 seconds yet the past day it just stays on until I manually turn it off....anyone had this problem?
I have tried switching the auto timeout amount multiple times...still just sits here until I manually turn it off.
Anyone else having a problem of not having the screen turn on when you press the power button from sleep? It doesn't happen often but it does happen. This is my second Captivate as my last one would shut itself off randomly and that phone also had this problem.Yes, I make sure I pressed the power button and waited a couple seconds to make sure it just wasn't lag but I can guarantee you it is not. Like I said, it doesn't happen all the time but maybe once every 2 days. I'm guessing it's a slight problem with other users as it happened on my last phone but I'm not sure. Hopefully it's a software issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is an app that can do that, turning off notification sound when the screen is on, for example when I have the screen on and I received a whatsapp message and I'm already in whatsapp app and I don't want it to sound because I see the notification.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to know whether this is actually possible in Android?
When Android phone receives an incoming call from a specific number the phone's ringing should stop and also the screen should not blink. What I mean is the user should not be able to know that there was incoming call, but actually there was.
I do not want to delete any call logs, just to stop sound on incoming call from a specific number and that too at a specific time.
I bought a bricked Bruneau tablet and wanted to stock flash it. But the "script" named folder that i put it on the sdcard was for other kind of wonder media processor. I have a WM8505+ procesor and the software was for WM8605. Now the tablet does not turn on, black screen, no sound nothing. I saw on other forums and youtube that i can shortcircuit 2 pins from a Samsung chip on tablet motherboard but it`s not working.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got the Moment and I like it so far, but for the love of God I can't figure out how to turn the sound off when my phone goes out of service. Where can I find this!?
I live in an area with poor cell service (I knew this and I hate talking on my phone) and just want the noise shut off. I don't need a stupid beep to tell me that it's outta service. It's driving me nuts.
I go to the settings>wireless & networks>mobile networks and didn't find any option to turn this off. Also looked everywhere in the sounds menu and nothing - am I missing something? There is an option in my EVO but I find nothing in the Epic 4G - inside our house we get poor reception (Airave here I come!), so the Epic connects regularly to a Verizon tower and that sound is driving me crazy!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing a weird problem. On startu,p while the notification bar is displaying "preparing sd card" and "preparing phone storage" a strange tone is played. It sounds like a ringtone preview...but it doesn't sound pleasant. It makes you believe that there is an error somewhere, but there is no verbal notification. I recently updated several apps at once and installed a new one. I thought this may be the problem, but I still have the sound after uninstalling new app.
