I've been trying to use the phone as an MP3 player in the car, however, when I connect it to my USB port it juts sits there saying "USB Load". Has anyone had similar experience? Seen the issue with Honda Civic and CrossTour. Have tried using Media Player or Storage USB setting on the phone.

Mortplayer really stutters and lags (a lot to the point I thought the program completely stopped) while browsing for folders; once inside the folder, the player is fine though. Also tried Meridian and the program took too long to load; it is also not responsive enough for my taste. Basically, I'm looking for an app that can play music by folder - that is as responsive and smooth as FolderPlay on Symbian S60, or the stock player on SE UIQ. Off topic: Really like the Galaxy S' gorgeous screen but also regret getting it at the same time. I guess I have too much expectation for it. I mean with its high end CPU and GPU, I expect it to be like super fluid but it takes longer to start up and to make a phone call than the 5800. Will hard resetting the phone and installing less apps help? I didn't really install that many apps, only about 9 pages filled.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a little over 20GB of music. I installed half on the players memory itself and the other half on an external micro sd card that has been inserted into the phone. Before transferring my music onto the phone and memory card, it was all under folders on my hard drived base MP3 player. I really like plug-and-play type MP3 players, non-Apple, and just simply had all my music in folders from A-Z and then the each different Band in a different sub-folder. I am not concerned with tags or album art. Since the phone comes with 16GB, I have to divide all my music half and half.
My questions are:
1. Is it possible to have all the music lumped into one like it was on my old MP3 player?
2. I cant seem to browse the music by folders. I want to have my music set up as 26 different folders from A-Z, then have the Bands seperated by folder WITHIN that folder
I tried downloading MortPlayer and Astro Player, but it doesnt seem to work right. Are there any settings on the phone to manage my music this way?
I have already searched the forums. I saw some vague answers and not were particular to the vibrant. Anyways, I was very excited I got the 32gb memory card. Now, the downside is that I still have to use the AUX input to play music. It's very inefficient to lose the concurrent charging capability by ignoring the USB output right next the the 1/8.This seems like a major negative on the part of this phone.There really has to be a way to get the head unit to communicate with a phone with such incredible technologies.Ideas guys? How can I do it?

The phone rings and the speaker works but it will not play Pandora, will not play MP3 files stored in the SD card, it will not play voice mail and it will not play stored ring tones? Any way to troubleshoot or should I jut get a new phone? Even with the insurance they want $100, thieves. First they don't release 2.2 and now this.

It'll also start playing a song skip to another , then another then back to the original and then call my voicemail. Other times when I dont even have a music app open and try to send a text it'll start playing a song. Anyone have any clue what is going on?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently copied all the files on the sd card that came with my moment and put them on an 8gig card. Also created a music folder and stuffed it full of my favorite tunes. Now when I get a text in Handcent it plays 2pac (the first song in the folder) The whole song~! I also downloaded mixzing to listen to my music. After this happened I uninstalled mixzing but that didnt help. I can change the notification sound in handcent but that dont work. Any idea why handcent is firing up my music player or folder? Im back to using the stock player but it still happens.

I cant find any way to disable it short of turning off BT and I dont want to do that as I play Slacker through BT. Is there an option Ive missed to disable autoplaying of music?

The Swype Keyboard on my wife's Captivate is not working correctly. The SYM button and the one to the left of it are blanked out - meaning they are just black boxes and clicking/pressing them does nothing. She has had to switch to the default keyboard and she hates it.Any idea what is going on and how to fix this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIf all you're trying to do is transfer files from/to your Captivate, and you're having trouble with the USB drivers, just download an app called SwiFTP. I got it and it took me half a minute to gain access to my files and MP3s on the phone, wirelessly, over WiFi, using Windows file explorer. Then just drag, drop, delete, copy, whatever.
No jailbreaking, rooting, sideloading or hacking required. I think this should be a sticky since so many people are having trouble with USB.
I discovered that I can get all sorts of music playing within multiple apps at once. I had Pandora playing and then I clicked the headset button and got the music player going along with Pandora and dropped a call. I would consider that some serious software rule conflicts.

I used to use the Double twist player with double twist installed on my mac to sync with iTunes. works pretty well, just wish it had landscape on the device. then i heard about WinAmp being on the android so i switched to that. better device playlist management, plus it still works with the double twist files so i can still sync with double twist on my mac.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI'm afraid to root my phone and I understand that's the only way to get rid of the default music app on my captivate. If I can't get rid of it, is there a way to make it a lame duck and set another player as my default player.
Here's why:
I recently installed Playerpro which has all the features I need in a music player but when I press the headset buttons (which I need for my daily walks) it automatically starts my default music player, which I never use. Granted this may be in an issue with the app as Mixzing and others don't have this issue but is there anyway to set defaults on my droid.
I am using WMP to sync pics, vids and music to the phone and noticed that the album art looks horrible (low definition). I always added my own album art to iTunes and on the iPhone it looks clear and crisp. I figure that iTunes optimizes the photo for the iPhone but i'm trying to now optimize it for the Captivate and am running into a wall.Has anyone else experienced this and fixed the problem?

One of the best thing about the iPhone was that it was an ipod, a really great music player. Since I am new to Android, I am still learning how to use it.
I am using DoubleTwist to sync my music to the phone. I was able to import all my info from Itunes over to DT, but the problem was syncing it to the phone. I am not able to sync my playlist to the phone. I am able to sync the music itself but when I try to play it on my phone it is a mess. Is it possible to get my playlist to sync with this phone?
I know that this has already come up but I am new to the forum and I just bought my captivate. I had problems with my PC (Vista) recognizing the phone but now it seems to be working but I don't know if I should just drag and drop my music files to the droid or if I need to use a program to sync it. I have media money but it doesn't seem to be syncing up with my phone. I also would like to know if there is an app that would work better then the AT&T music player which I have read sucks.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi just got a samsung captivate love the phone but am having a couple problems my daughter sent me some ringtones via bluetooth and the rt came in a folder from her samsung impression i moved the music into my music folder out of the bluetooth folder however the empty folders that the music came in are still there. i have attempted the long hold on them to delete them but after about 2 minutes nothing happens. does anyone know how to delete these empty folders?

I searched and read the only way to shut it down is to use the exit/return at the full screen music player and then go to your app killer. Even if I follow these steps and then unplug my headphones the music player will usually 'turn back on' and start playing music at full blast out of my speaker..How can I kill this thing once and for good? btw im using advanced task killer.
