Samsung Captivate : Way To Put Music From ITunes To Phone?
Jul 26, 2010I'm new to Android and am coming from an iPhone. I would love to put music on my phone and just use that as a music player, however all of my music is on iTunes. Is there any way or a program that can put music from iTunes on to the Captivate?

I keep seeing that I should use isyncr if I want to continue to use itunes but do I need an SD card before I starting syncing my podcasts/music to my captivate? Samsung Captivate :: Music Player Use Phone Speaker While Headphones Plugged In
Aug 26, 2010My captivate external speaker plays music while I'm listening to the headphones, am I missing a setting to turn this off? Shouldn't the phone's external speaker not be playing music while I'm using my headphones? Sometimes the external speaker will remain silent while my headphones are working (as I would imagine should be the case) until I receive a text message, and then the external speaker will play music along with the headphones. Anyone think this could be a problem with my device? My 30 day period expires on Sept.5 so I am wondering if I should return it for an exchange?

Aug 10, 2010I discovered that I can get all sorts of music playing within multiple apps at once. I had Pandora playing and then I clicked the headset button and got the music player going along with Pandora and dropped a call. I would consider that some serious software rule conflicts.

Oct 25, 2010what music players does everyone use and how do you sync them? i think i've got a pretty good set up with my mac. I used to use the Double twist player with double twist installed on my mac to sync with iTunes. works pretty well, just wish it had landscape on the device. then i heard about WinAmp being on the android so i switched to that. better device playlist management, plus it still works with the double twist files so i can still sync with double twist on my mac.

Sep 7, 2010I'm afraid to root my phone and I understand that's the only way to get rid of the default music app on my captivate. If I can't get rid of it, is there a way to make it a lame duck and set another player as my default player.
Here's why:
I recently installed Playerpro which has all the features I need in a music player but when I press the headset buttons (which I need for my daily walks) it automatically starts my default music player, which I never use. Granted this may be in an issue with the app as Mixzing and others don't have this issue but is there anyway to set defaults on my droid.
Samsung Captivate :: Album Art Looks Bad In Music Player
Jul 26, 2010I am using WMP to sync pics, vids and music to the phone and noticed that the album art looks horrible (low definition). I always added my own album art to iTunes and on the iPhone it looks clear and crisp. I figure that iTunes optimizes the photo for the iPhone but i'm trying to now optimize it for the Captivate and am running into a wall.Has anyone else experienced this and fixed the problem?

Jul 25, 2010This is my first Android phone. Coming from the iPhone 3Gs, I am expecting a lot. So far this phone is great, it has some bugs on it but I am willing to work with it. One of the best thing about the iPhone was that it was an ipod, a really great music player. Since I am new to Android, I am still learning how to use it.
I am using DoubleTwist to sync my music to the phone. I was able to import all my info from Itunes over to DT, but the problem was syncing it to the phone. I am not able to sync my playlist to the phone. I am able to sync the music itself but when I try to play it on my phone it is a mess. Is it possible to get my playlist to sync with this phone?

Sep 19, 2010I know that this has already come up but I am new to the forum and I just bought my captivate. I had problems with my PC (Vista) recognizing the phone but now it seems to be working but I don't know if I should just drag and drop my music files to the droid or if I need to use a program to sync it. I have media money but it doesn't seem to be syncing up with my phone. I also would like to know if there is an app that would work better then the AT&T music player which I have read sucks.

Sep 26, 2010i just got a samsung captivate love the phone but am having a couple problems my daughter sent me some ringtones via bluetooth and the rt came in a folder from her samsung impression i moved the music into my music folder out of the bluetooth folder however the empty folders that the music came in are still there. i have attempted the long hold on them to delete them but after about 2 minutes nothing happens. does anyone know how to delete these empty folders?

Oct 27, 2010I cant get my music player to shut down. This happens periodically and it gets really annoying (and embarrassing when Im in class). I searched and read the only way to shut it down is to use the exit/return at the full screen music player and then go to your app killer. Even if I follow these steps and then unplug my headphones the music player will usually 'turn back on' and start playing music at full blast out of my speaker..How can I kill this thing once and for good? btw im using advanced task killer.

Samsung Captivate :: Song Titles In Music Player
Aug 7, 2010returned my first Cappy today, for a plethora of reasons (Battery, GPS incredibly unsnappy 1ghz processor that my previous iphone 4 crushed) among others. But this one seems to be a happy and healthy cappy so far. Anyway, running in to an issue. I have all of my music in itunes, but converted it and just housed it in windows media player when i took my iphone back and got the captivate. When I put my music on the captivate, I get all kinds of crazy file names, numbers, squiggles and the like. It's showing me the actual file and not what I've tagged it as, so I have very few artwork, cd names, and track names there. I've tried to sync music 2 ways:
1) Hook cappy up to pc under media player mode and sync through windows media player
2) sync with itunes agent
Both methods got the same results. I like my music libary to be smooth and organized, but i can't figure out how to change the files names to what I want! Should i get mp3 tagging software? if so, which kind? Can I just change the name in windows? It's kind of making miss my iphone!
Samsung Captivate :: Music Jitter And Skipping Revisited
Jul 29, 2010I thought I had this figured out when I took Weather and Toggle off the phone, but now I'm still having trouble with some stutter and skip with the music players I've tried. I've been using Mixzing recently and I've upped the buffer as high as it can go and still some skipping.
Anyone else having this problem/find a solution/have an idea what's causing it. I use the phone more for music than I do as a phone and this is really bugging me. Never had this problem with my *ahem* iPhone.

Jul 21, 2010I was having a bunch of trouble when listening to the music player where every so often the thing would stutter while in playback. I was getting pissed and thinking I was going to have to take the Captivate back, but tonight as I was fooling around with launcher pro and listening to tunes i noticed that the hiccup came every time the clock widget changed minutes (Weather and Toggle). I deleted the widget and low and behold, stuttering gone.

Sep 30, 2010I spent quite some time de-deduping my PC's music library using Media Monkey and going through all albums to grab info from Amazon. Then I connect my phone and got MM to recognize the G: drive. Then I synced all my music and discovered some issues while trying to play the music using cubed (aka 3):
(a) album art was not showing up. I had previously used cubed to grab art, then cleared the cache before uploading my music. After upload, no art is showing in cubed app
(b) the music on my sd card was stored directly to the G: drive instead of the music folder. How do I get MM to sync directly to the music folder?
