Samsung Captivate :: Phone Book Software?
Nov 7, 2010What software do all of you use on your computer to manage your phones phonebook? I am looking for something to back it up and update information. Is there anything like this?

Samsung Captivate :: Sync Phone Book All The Time?
Oct 28, 2010For some reason, while I'm at home, on wifi, everytime I wake my phone up (not sure if it's doing it while it sleeps or not, but battery has gotten worse, so probably) the 3g comes on for about 15 seconds. I see the grey sync arrows come on in the top left. When I pull down the window shade, it pops up a little notification saying something like "phone book contacts are up to date..." or something like that. But it always activates 3g even when I'm on wifi. I even disabled background data and auto-sync and it still did it after I woke it up. Didn't receive my gmail while those were disabled but still tried to sync my phone book with something. Sometimes I can watch it sync the phone book 5 or 6 times in a couple of minute time frame and sometimes I can watch for 10 minutes and it won't sync once...

Oct 15, 2010Switched over from iphone 3GS today, rooted, installed Cognition 2.2 BETA7 Now, it's time to put my personal data into the phone! So, what should I do to upload my contacts? Apparently this did not come over from the SIM, but I have the data in the Address Book program on my mac.Should I input this stuff into my google account, directly enter the data into the phone, or something else?

Sep 21, 2010so I've looked around but don't see any threads on this....but newho, onto the question. has anybody been able to sync their contacts via ATT online Address Book? I've seen like 5 completed syncs in the log, out of prolly 30 total attempts. Either way, i cant log in to check the contacts online. I get this:
LOGIN FAILED

So is the Captivate the only phone on AT&T that can officially have swype? We all know that Apple won't let Swype in their market

Aug 3, 2010So I got my phone a week ago or so and it just now started having problems with the GPS and randomly shutting off as well as the battery life being drained within a couple of hours from fully charged. Im guessing I should exchange my phone for a new one within my warranty period. Do I need to bring the original box and everything along with it to exchange it?

Aug 11, 2010I have my HTC Desire and the Facebook application is the worst thing it should happen. It sync all my friends phone numbers and mixes with all my other phone numbers. Can some one in clear state of mind ask Android/Facebook to give us the option to select what friends we want in our phone list? I like the Facebook app but deleted it once it messes my phone!

Oct 1, 2009I've a snazzy bluetooth thang in my car. On my old phone (TyTN II) and work phone (Nokia somethingorother), when you pair the phone, it uploads the phonebook so that it's browseable from the car kit.On the Sammy, all I see is a list of phone numbers, no names. Which is less than useful.

Jul 19, 2010So, got my Captivate yesterday.. first Android device (and loving it). Noticed something weird, when i went to bed last night it was at 50% battery, turned the phone off and plugged it in figuring it would charge overnight. however when I turned it on this morning the battery was at 10%. Not sure if this was just a fluke or not (i'm assuming fluke since I don't see any other posts on it). Can't see why it wouldn't of charged, let alone drain the battery.. any ideas? I can assure you it was off all night.So does this phone only charge when on? Something specific to Android or just a fluke maybe something i should think about a return trip to at&t for? Gona see what happens tonight when I do the same thing.

For the specs of Captivate (1.0Ghz Processor, 512MB ram), Most of the games out there are just pitiful I don't know whether that's the result of lack game developers on Android or programmers today don't know how to optimize, I used to play way better games on a Pentium MX 166Mhz computer with 32MB ram (Quakes, Red Alert, C&C, Diablo just name a few so you know I am not bull shiting).

I am following instructions from this page Captivate Root I renamed the file update.zip and everything.
