What is keeping my phone awake through the night and hence draining my battery rapidly. I am going to post screenshots and BetterBatteryStats dump file to make it as clear as possible.
Basically, what I see is that the phone was mostly awake at night and was in deep sleep only for about 1 hour. I don't think it is normal.

yesterday i noticed that my GS3 battery drained too quickly ,checked Battery in settings and noticed that my phone is most of the time AWAKE ...
installed GSamBatteryStats , checked what app caused the most Cpu-WakeUp , and it was Maps & Google Services
tried unchecking The google Location Services but didn't change anything ( the screenshot is after unchecking it )
Before everybody redirects me to the standard "ways to extend your battery life" threads, I believe I've tried all the usual tricks, which is why I'm posting another thread.This is really starting to drive me nuts. Up until a few weeks ago, I was getting good battery life. A couple of days worth with normal usage, which I think is reasonable with all considered.But now, it lasts about half a day, which is obviously not much use when you can only charge it at night.I've been checking the "awake time" and sometimes it just keeps staying high. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. When the awake time is high, it is also warm to the touch, as if it is doing a lot of processing or something.
I've also been using "spare parts" to see what appears under "partial awake". I have never seen anything under this which accounts for the awake time. For example, the awake time might say "15 hrs", but "partial awake" in spare parts shows the biggest thing as being "Android system", but only taking "2 mins".I have (as far as I can tell) disabled the standard HTC messages app, and am now using Handcent SMS.I have turned off bluetooth and GPS, but leave wifi and mobile data on. I know switching these off saves power, but I've always had them on without as much drain as I do now.I have done a factory reset, and reinstalled all my usual apps, and left off any which I don't really need. All seemed well for a few days, but then the drain started again.
I have a feeling my battery drain is due to an update to an app, but as it's not consistent, I can't figure out which app or update it could be.As it is, with the battery lasting for less time than I am out in the day, it makes it a really rubbish phone, and just not fit for purpose.Is there any other way, other than using "spare parts", that I can tell what is using my power?
my uptime is 117:27 and awake time is 114:11. This is the first time Ive seen the numbers so high and that close together. They are usually much far apart. and i noticed my battery has been draining alot faster than usual the past few days so im assuming something is keeping my phone awake. How can i tell whats causing it? I havent downloaded any new apps in the last few days so I dont know what it could be.

I have the pop-up set to not turn on the screen or even appear over the lock screen. I uninstalled for a while used chomp and stock, along with sms popup and neither caused similar behavior?

View 4 Replies View Relatedwe already got a battery meter in android 4.2.2, and it can tell if something is keeping the phone awake.For example, it shows that the "Android OS" is keep the system awake for 10 hours, but it can not tell me which app is holding some wake locks or wakes the phone frequently.I also installed Better BatteryStats, under Kernel Wakelock, it shows that the gps_lock is holding for 10 hours, but also not related to any app.

wtf? Check spare parts partial wake usage since last unplugged and the Calander is up there at the top above the Android system.
Maybe this has been talked about before but im going to ask this anyway. A couple of nights ago my battery was at about 30% (yellow) so i decided to turn my phone off and go to sleep, well when i woke up my i turned my hero back on, and the battery was at 9%. So last night the battery was low again and i decided to take the battery out and when i woke up i put it back on and my hero had the same battery life as last night
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince I got my Captivate just a couple of weeks after it hit the market, I experienced really good battery life. I could plug the charger in at 6:00 when I get up, take it off the charger at 7:30 when I leave for work, and make it til the next morning most days.A couple of weeks ago, I left for work with a full charge, and around 11:00 I took out my phone to test WiFi coverage for some new access points we had installed in the office. The phone felt very warm, and the battery indicator was yellow. For the next couple of days it went like this. I had a spare Samsung battery from when AT&T sent us a new one for my wife's Captivate when she was having random shutdown issues, so I swapped batteries. Things were fine for 10-11 days. Then suddenly last evening about 7:30, when I went to look something up online with my phone, it was very warm again, and the battery indicator was red. Had to put it on the car charger when I left church.When I got home, I put it on the charger all night. By midday today, it was in the yellow, and it finally died about an hour ago. again the handset felt very warm. I don't have a spare USB cable here at work, so will have to wait to get home to charge it. Anything particular I should look for on the phone (running apps, etc.)? Or do I just need to go ahead and place a call to AT&T support?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi bought the full version of systempanel last night, because i installed setcpu and tasker over the weekend and started overclocking - i wanted to try the monitoring service and try to see if there was a drastic effect on my battery... well, the battery DEFINITELY seems to be draining faster than it did yesterday, and the phone seemed to be very choppy when switching between home screens. i disabled monitoring and it seems to be more responsive again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been getting pretty good battery life (about 14-16 hours on average) when I use the airplane mode trick and kill the Media Hub service. However, my phone has not been able to sleep since the past 2 days and the battery is draining quickly.
The up time indicates that the phone cannot go to sleep. I'm just surprised because I haven't changed any of my phone settings so I don't know why this is happening. I uninstalled the last app that I downloaded and that didn't help.
Should I try doing a hard reset? Are there any apps that will specifically tell me what is keeping the phone awake?
My phone suddenly switches off and battery goes down from 70 - 80 % to 2 - 3%. this usually happens when mobile network is switched on. is there a problem with battery or some app is causing this??

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems (After i updated to 4.3) with my battery (I have an s4 gt I9500), so i did a little research about wakelocks and i found that there are 2 that were making that my phone didnt go to deep sleep, the wakelocks were "exynos5-fb.1" and "l2_hsic" in the description of battery, it appears that "Android OS" is almost always working . I have restore my cell phone to factory settings and the problem hasn't gone yet.

So against my will, I've downloaded ATK.
I noticed that upon killing ANY application that was loaded by the system at start up (besides ATK) would allow the phone to sleep.
So FM Radio, Footprints, Docs to Go....
Killing just one of those or I imagine just about anything else that loaded from the start, stopped my wakelock.
Also I noticed by putting the phone into airplane mode, and then taking it out, seemed to work as well.
Just yesterday my phone was getting more than 14+ hours of battery. Now it's draining really quickly even when I'm not using it (I left it on while I was asleep). It's not facebook because I already downloading the fix and rebooted. My "time without signal" is 0% so I don't think that's the problem. I did download Quickpedia yesterday but a quick search tells me that's not the problem either.
The only other thing I did differently was switch from ADW to LauncherPro yesterday, but if that was draining the battery wouldn't it be under Android System and not standby or idle? Regardless, I switched back to ADW just to see if that works
I've recently downloaded the Tubemate Slide app, an update of the Tubemate, but uninstalled it soon after as it didn't work fully (audio was not downloaded).However, when I checked my battery performance later today (on my Nexus 10), I saw the app is still draining 50% of my battery!!
I don't know how it can still be on my tablet when I've uninstalled it. I've also ran a search through File Manager, but nothing came up.. I've also turned my tablet on and off, but to no avail. Finally, I tried clicking on the icon/message in the battery 'window' (to get more info about the app), but the buttons 'force stop' and 'report' are greyed out for some reason.
The app was also not listed under Settings > Apps > All apps.
With mobile data on, the batter drains like anything.The 3G coverage in my area is not so good and hence it switches continuously between H, 3G & 2G.
Is there any app that measures battey drain, mentioning the usage when data is on?
Am using Galaxy S3, GT-I9300.
It is now with Jellybean 4.1.2.
I have a very big problem, as my Nexus One is draining heavily. My Nexus One drains 1% every 4 minutes, no matter which ROM I install Sense, AOKP ICS, MIUI (ICS) and even Stock. The battery remains the same, I have tried various options: from calibrating the battery, wiping battery stats to purchasing a new battery. Neither of those options worked out. The battery still remains the same. My guess is that it's a hardware error.I have no guarantee, as my bootloader is unlocked and I opened the phone once.

Starting yesterday I noticed that my battery was draining faster than usual, the phone having died after being used for half the day, when it typically makes it the full day. Nothing was being used more or less, and all of the application managers and battery life charts indicated that everything was running as normal. Then this morning after having the phone charged for the entire night, it tells me that on the remaining battery life the phone will only last about 7 minutes, and the percentage is dropping rapidly (about a percent every 30 seconds) .
View 2 Replies View Relatedi bought x10 mini in february 2012. after some days i rooted the phone. and after some days it starts auto turn off while sim is inserted. and sometimes it restarts automatically. when charger is connected, there is no problem, but when disconnected, it shuts down immediately. and sometimes it turns off while sim is not inserted but the "on time period" is about 2/3 hours. but when sim is inserted, it turns off immediately just aftrer switched on the phone. and there is a battery draining problem too. sometimes, as example, 90% charge becomes 23% after autorestart. i send it to sony ericsson service centre, but nothing has improved. and now i can see the phone is not rooted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI think I've found the battery culprit on my wife's new Incredible. We both got new Incredibles and pretty much set them up the same, except she has to use Good for Enterprise to manage her company email/calender. My phone sleeps like it should, but her phone has been awake 100% of the time since she downloaded Good. After a week of trying to figure out what is keeping her phone from sleeping, I think I have found the answer (and developed a mild case of OCD).
My question is: does anyone know how to set the sync interval for Good? The problem seems to be that it is constantly syncing, which never allows the phone to go to sleep (Up time = Awake time).
I am using xperia p with stock JB (unrooted). I have to charge it twice a day without even any significant use.
Sometimes battery just drains out by 10% or so with just an eye blink! Battery details showed that it's staying awake (or something is making it stay awake) while in sleep. Tried using BetterBatteryStats to find the draining app. But just 'kworker' and 'admsrv (or something like this)' seemed to be the only problems. Tried flashing and/or factory resetting 5 or 6 times and still no improvement.
Last night I noticed that there is an update to Slacker, so I downloaded it to my Incredible. Opened it to see if there were any visible differences, went to a station and played a song for 2 seconds, selected quit via the menu, and then "shutdown slacker" at the end. This morning I open up Spare Parts, check the battery history/partial wake usage, and Slacker is at the top, bar all the way to the right.

I deleted a few of the last apps I installed but it could be an update, wish it was easier to solve, but now Media is my number one battery usage, even after I uninstalled a couple new apps.
