Has anyone been able to play music from your phone on the music player using Google Voice Actions?
I find it alwasy wants to find streaming music and does not search my music that is onboard.

I was googling for "google voice actions eclair" in the hopes that a 2.1 version was in the works, and I found out that Vlingo (normally $9.99 in the market) is now free. It does some of the same things that the Google one apparently does (no setting alarms, though, too bad).
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was looking at all the nice music apps available with nice UIs and noticed that however good they may be, none allow connectivity to Google Music to access songs from the cloud.
I had read that someone released an unofficial Google Music API, however I haven't seen any apps take advantage of this. Also, not many apps seem to take advantage of Google Voice Actions to launch songs.
Any apps that have taken advantage of the API? What happened to the project?
So Google has finished their announcement and it's Chrome to Phone & Google's One-Button Voice Actions. Basically my question is are these features that would just need to be turned on in the ROMs or are these things going to be released in future Froyo updates? I understand for Chrome to Phone it's going to be a plugin in Chrome and a download from the market for the phones.

After doing some research I've found Chrome to Phone available in the Market and in the Chrome Extensions. Works perfectly
Initially got the package signed incorrectly error for the Voice Search, did a nand backup, used titanium to uninstall the default voice search, rebooted and installed voice search through the market. Worked perfectly. I'd assume this would work for any Froyo ROMs but haven't tested.
I came from a iphone and thier podcast app was ten fold better than anything Ive seen for a android to this date. Just a simple search in the app and it cant locate half the things I used to listen to on my iphone. I just tried to add this one Stuff They Don't Want You To Know and its (listen) claiming theres no audio files on this site. Maybe im using the wrong link, can someone give me some insight..

I've tried it using the speaker and the headphones. I have seen at some point the music player widget in the notifications bar so I know it can be done, but I just can't find the setting to make it work. Also, how do I access the equalizer?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI was trying to use the google voice actions app, when it didnt work i figured it was the app, when the next 3 phone calls didnt work i figured it was the phone. this will be number 3 or 4, i cant remember. though i have had this one for about three months. Just got me wondering, how long have you had your particular phone, and if you did get it replaced in the past, what was the reason?

Try Vlingo, which, since the GVA announcement, is now free. It's pretty amazing. Not perfect, but very useful.
Vlingo can also be set to read your texts/emails to you (good for driving).
Whats everyones take on both these applications? I've just started using the new google voice actions and think its amazing, and actually interprets my speech quite well! Voice actions I think provide a bit more robust actions over vlingo, as they can be used to get directions, navigate you somewhere, call certain businesses etc.
I do like the idea of Vlingo's, text to speech, reading who's calling you or a new email or message. I use handcent and that has text to speech although its extremely quiet even if i turn it up completely. I also can't understand it most of the time as it speaks too fast in its funny computer voice!
Another plus, Vlingo is now FREE! I haven't downloaded it yet as I'm just enjoying Googles new voice actions, but I would be interested in a comparison with accuracy and speed in both these applications!
Okay this has me really stumped. I'm trying to listen to mp3s on my Captivate while it charges via the USB charging. When I try to use either Doubletwist I get the message "connected to computer and please eject the phone". When I try with the music player I get the message "SD card is being used as a mass storage device". I get these message if I have my phone hooked to a PC to charge, in my car or even plugged into a wall socket. Any idea why I can't charge it and listen to my mp3s at the same time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have searched around for an answer to these two issues, but haven't been able to find anything. After doing the manual upgrade to 2.1 OTA, most everything is fine. However, Google Voice and Google Listen are having issues. Google Voice is giving me a Force Close message every time I receive a text message in Hand cent SMS (to my non-GV number). I don't actually use GV on my voice all that often. Google Listen seems to have lost all trace of any of my pod casts, including new ones that have come in since the update. Every episode on every pod cast has, just under the title: "Error (sd card/com.goggle.android.apps.listen/downloads/e55bee71)" The string of letters and numbers on each one is different. I used Astor File Manager to look in this folder and each of those files is not there. Some of these folders were downloaded a month ago (I'm a little slow in getting to some pod casts) and some I have listened to already pre update but still getting the error now. Some that I have listened to are not giving the error. And any that were downloaded after the update are giving the error.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just noticed yesterday accidentally that you can press and hold the search button on the lock screen and perform anything Google Voice Actions is capable of. I am using a Droid 2 unrooted. This may affect the Droid X as well. This is a huge security flaw in Motorola's modified pattern/PIN lock screen. Hopefully this thread garnishes enough attention so that this can be patched soon! Steps to reproduce:
1. Lock your screen
2. Press and hold the search button "magnifying glass"
3. Speak any voice action and the phone will respond. Note: you will not get any visual or audible cues (in Google Voice Actions) that it is working, but it is!
I am using Captivate on the AT&T network and looking into goggle voice. Since the main feature I am interested in (for now) is the visual voice mail, I was thinking of getting the option without the GV number and therefore, keeping my cell phone number. I have several questions:
1. Does this work well with the Captivate phone?
2. Is there any delay in getting the voice mails by going through GV?
3. Does this eat into my data plan at all? Currently, I am only on the 200 mb plan per month.
4. If I try to get text messages through GV, would that not use up my data plan and instead come through my Internet connection ( which could at times be free if I am in a WiFi zone)?
I am curious in what it is. They say it is a great app, but can somebody explain to me what it is and what it does?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAlright, so its day 3 of my time with the captivate... so far so good. coming from my iPhone 2g, I will say the device is amazingly fast by comparison... Also, I have been able to make and receive calls from my office and my in-laws house. two places that had been frustrating dead-zones before. So I am happy. Now, I'm switching over to Google Voice for my SMS, since its free, usable on desktop, etc.I am also using LauncherPro as my Launcher.I am not rooted and don't really plan on rooting.A couple Questions:
- I LOVE the puzzle-piece unlock when there is a Text waiting, is there any way to have this become the standard unlock screen?
- Or, alternatively, can I at least get it to work for texts waiting on google voice? Any way to expand the puzzle functions to include email?
- Is there a good Google Talk widget?
- Is there something I can change to improve facebook notifications? It seems I don't get any, unless I open the app. I tried the widget, but that seems to be just a news feed. Am I missing some setting for push notifications?
I am seeing a very annoying problem with Google Listen on Android (I think this behavior has started since the most recent update a couple of weeks back, but I am not sure)I am using the Nexus One (Android v 2.1)
1. Start Google Listen, using the wired headset.
2. Start listening to some podcast
3. Press the play/pause button from the headset
4. With the old version of Listen, the podcast would be paused.
When you pressed the button again, the podcast playback would resume. This was very nice. However, now - when I press play/pause from the headset the music player starts up. Sometimes, the podcast stops when music player starts up, sometimes it continues to play. Sometimes I get weird error messages on listen. This is really annoying.
I finally got GV visual voicemail working using my carrier number as my GV number. it took 2 days of frustration.now, from what I understand, i should be able to use GV to send text/SMS messages.is that true?when i launch GV app, i don't have any options to compose messages. how is that supposed to work?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI foolishly installed google voice on my Captivate before listening to all my AT&T voice mails.After I did this I realized that I had a bunch of voice mails on AT&T voice mail, and now I can't figure out how to get to the AT&T voice mails.Any suggestions? Do I need to de-activate google voice on my voice mail then get the AT&T messages, then re-activate the google voice on my voice mail?

I am able to send and rec sms through google voice and my new GV # but I can only send sms from my att number. I cannot receive any sms from my att number and people who are sending them do not get any kind of message they just get lost in the network somewhere. People in general and my boss are getting mad because they think I am just ignoring them.

If I press the microphone button S-Voice immediately says "I didn't hear that. Please say it again" with literally NO time for me to ever say a single thing. Also, saying "Hi Galaxy" never gets it to pick up on me either.

I am a newbie and this is my first smart phone.I love the Epic everything works perfectly after I exchanged the first one for the back button issue.My question is I am listening to streaming radio in the car, through a cassette adapter that is plugged into the headphone jack on the epic and everything is cool. when I get a phone call - The radio goes off and I can accept the call, however here is the problem.When I answer the call I can hear the caller through the car speakers (makes sense) but they cannot hear me, I try pressing the speaker button and still they cannot hear me. I think the Samsung programmers have assumed that I have headphones plugged in with an attached mic and not a straight output jack.How do I answer calls in this situation?I am not willing to unplug the cassette adapter when cruising down the interstate at great speed.Is there a setting or a device (bluetooth or other?) that will enable what I need to accomplish.CLOSED - I just bought a $10 cable with a built in mic from Best Buy.

I have alot of mps files that I want to know if I can transfer to my LG phone. It's an LGMS769 and Android Version is 4.1.2. Okay so I'm trying to listen to music from my phone (HTC inspire) to my Xbox 360. Both are running on same internet one is wired(Xbox) and my phone is wireless.. I'm getting two bars Max 1 mostly. And everytime I'm listening to music using both airsync and even imediashare about 3 songs it music just stops. I figured it was my screen turning off so I kept it on and in the middle of my song it stops... then whenever I go to change the song on the 360 my Xbox freezes due to the app -.+ I can't seem to get any of these apps to work and its really frustrating because I just wanna listen to music. (Do not troll and tell me to buy a new router, Xbox, go to ps3 or any of those lame things.)
