I have a captivate...awesome phone. I would like to know how to get the voice ringtones to link to my notification/email. I have tried several things to no avail. Anyone have any ideas.

I always create calendar appointments with an alarm. A few days ago I went to Settings/Sound and Display/Notification Ring tone and set it to "on time". Maybe a day or two later I created my own notification ring tone and set it in settings. The ring tone works fine in Astrid and Nudist. However, the calendar notifications still use the "on time" ring tone. I even tried changing the notification ring tone to "tweeters" but calendar still uses "on time", even after multiple reboots.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI saw a similar problem in the HTC Hero forums, without a concrete answer, but I wondering if it were a problem for Galaxy S users as well. Basically, I want to use the Gmail app that comes pre-installed. I have my Accounts set up to sync everything Google related: contacts, gmail, calendar, and picasa [which I don't use, but whatever]. I Don't want to use the Email app [the one with the @ symbol on the icon]. The problem I'm facing is there appears to be a fairly large delay between receive the email on my computer, and receiving it on my phone. I have Wifi Sleep set to Never, and enabled Notifications on the Gmail app as well.

I keep reading that each app has a setting that allows one to select a unique sound, but I am not able to find this setting for the stock email app, or the voicemail app. The only options under email settings are:
Email notifications - ON or OFF
Notification sound - ON or OFF
Notification vibrate - ON or OFF
Under Voicemail settings, I see NO choices for notifications.
Does anyone have a download link for the new SRE 1.3? I'm waiting to flash the new JH7 until I can download it, but since XDA has been down all morning, I was hoping someone else can re-upload it, or provide the download link.

Otherwise, its a stock phone. I text a lot while walking. I DONT recommend anyone try this while driving, but for walking while texting its quite handy..

I have no issue syncing my FB contacts to my phone. They are all on my phone and in Contacts list. My issue is I can not link them to contacts I have already on my Phone. I click on FB name and it says "link contact" but it only lets me Link it to other FB contacts! It doesn't let me link them to phone entries I already have stored on my phone.

Is there a common app that may be causing this? Only thing I thought of was either the app Battery Booster, which selectively shuts down running processes to conserve battery, or Lookout, which is an antivirus and back up. Any thoughts?
My friend texted me his ringtone that is in mp3 format. I saved the MMS to my phone. Now where do I move that file in order for it to come up as an option to be a ringtone?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to JH7, and realized that I can no longer use my own specific audio files as ringtones anymore...its only letting me use the stock ringtones. When I go to Settings > Sound and Display > Voice call ringtone , the only ringtones I can choose from are the ones that came with the phone. It's the only thing that pops up. Theres nothing for me to click anymore that lets me search my android system for audio files.

When I navigate to the MP3 that I want as my ringtone, I tap the menu button to find the "Set as" option, but that option seems to have been removed altogether! Am I missing something here, or have AT&T and/or Samsung decided that we're not allowed to set our personal MP3's as ringtones and therefore are forced to either do without, or buy them from wherever? I have tried but with no success. I am able to play them in the player just not assign them as. My only guess is it is because I have no SD card yet. View 10 Replies View RelatedThe reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. I do have an abundance of navigation (gps, turn by turn, ect), some news, a widget for quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, ringer on/off, gps), Music (shazam, pandora tunee music, The house FM christian radio) Astro file manager, Emulators, facebook integration.I have noticed some coming on by themselves. Ill try to note when I have done nothing to activate them.
