View 1 RepliesI saw an Android tip that said "Use the power button to end a call", but it needed to be turned on in the Accessibility menu. When I got to Settings->Accessibility, it is grayed out and it says "Downloaded accessibility application is required to activate". What app do I need to download to enable this accessibility setting?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wife has the Moment and uses a Jabra BT250v.
She has only had two major issues with the phone ever.
Other than the usual bluetooth just not connecting and needing repair every once in a while, her biggest issue has been when she turns on the headset, the phone automatically dials the last person she called. She has to catch it and stop the dialing.
Do all headsets do this? I did not see anyone else posting this problem.
Anyone have a rec for a good one for the Moment? Perhaps a Jabra or Blue Ant?
(Her second problem is sometimes her face activates the mute while on a call)
Other than that, she loves the phone and I am very impressed with it myself.
I have a Samsung captivate and was trying to do an update on it. The screen turned black and then turned off. I tried taking the battery out and restarting it, but now it wont even turn on. I have never done an update until tonight.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using my captivate last night and the 3g and browser suddenly turned off. I restarted the phone several times and let is sit all last night and all of today. I recently tried again but its still not up. I have no 3g or 2g (edge) I can still receive texts and call but nothing to do with the browser. I've tried flight mode and everything else I could think of but nothing is working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI didn't have this situation until Twix and now, DOTS. When I check "Battery use", I see a bunch of programs in there, without turning them on or using them like Android OS, Media, Swype, Market, Dialer ... In Twiz, even when wifi is on, it won't actually connect unless I manually connect it and it disconnects when the screen is automatically turned off. I had great battery life.
I drained the battery and recharged before I flashed ODIN. I pretty much did everything the same way as the previous times I flashed a new rom. I drained the battery again but that didn't seem to help.
I installed Advanced Task Killer. A while after I kill selected apps (a long list), the apps tend to turn on on their own. I had unchecked "Background data" but that didn't help either. Wifi connects unless I literally turn it off. (That wasn't the case.)
Is there a few check marks that I miss?

Not sure if my problem is similar to this.
Has anyone else had the web browser crash when the location is turned on (wireless networks) with WiFi only?

I've had my phone for exactly 1 week, and after reading all the horror stories of people experiencing the random shut offs, I thought I was lucky up until now. I love this phone a lot despite the obvious GPS issues. Does anyone have any idea on what may be causing this? Hardware or Software issue?I would hate to exchange it for another with AT&T since I've become so attached to it.
Handset Use More Power When 4G Is Turned On? Has anyone tested this yet?

The one's I'm concerned with are:
video playback
automatic screen dimming
disabled camera functionality
I have made an Android based arcade machine that I want to sell to operators. They are accustomed to having an arcade machine boot up from one switch, and they also like to be able to leave that switch on so they can just turn on and off all machines with a surge protector switch or light switch. It doesn't seem possible to just have a simple binary ON/OFF switch for the K-R42, so I have to do it by having everything hooked up to a surge protector. Problem is that if I turn off the Android box by turning off the surge protector, I can't turn it back on that way. I'd like to find a way to have the Android device power on automatically from the off state when electricity is restored (sort of like the turn on after power failure option in Windows BIOS). I had read that this may be doable in the BOOTLOADER, is that true?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a black background, I keep the display settings at the lowest brightness settings, and I keep the screen off when I'm not using it, but my phone is dying after 8-10 hours if I don't use it very much and 4-5 hours if I use it regularly. Every time it indicates that it needs to be recharged, 65-80% of the power is going to the display. I...don't see how that can be.I'm using a Samsung Vibrant that I bought on July 30th.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having this problem? When I press the power button to turn on the screen sometimes it doesn't happen. This happens maybe once a week. I'm guessing it's a software issue possibly because when I push the button to put my screen to sleep it always works. Also, the same thing happened to my old iPhone 3g all the time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust curious what brightness setting everyone is using? I'm talking normal, run-of-the-mill settings not what you crank it to when you're outside, and not what you turn it down to for playing games in the dark. I want your normal setting. Anyone have an idea of how much power usage is impacted? (Like, does 100% Brightness use 50% more power than 10%, or does it use 400% more power?)
View 13 Replies View RelatedI got the Behold 2 in the mail about four days ago, and it was working out pretty well for me. This was mostly because I'd previously been using an archaic piece of crap and hadn't had any experience with Android, so I was pretty blown away by the customization and yada yada yada. Touchwiz didn't even bother me because I've never seen Android without that UI. Then the battery issues started, which a few other people have obviously had judging by the threads on this forum. I was losing roughly 1% of battery power every 5 minutes without me even touching it, which is absolutely ridiculous. I followed the basic procedure and turned everything off, etc., and am recharging it now. So, waiting to see if it gets any better. But it seems like a hassle to have to constantly keep wifi disabled or to take all the widgets off the home screen......
View 16 Replies View RelatedJust called O2 about my Galaxy, It keeps shutting down and I cannot power up without first removing and replacing the battery, I's just over 1 month old and they deny any knowledge of this happening at all, They want me to send it for repair and have the priviledge of waiting up to 14 days to get it returned whilst I merrily pay a contract fee to them!
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I painfully watched my Cappy's battery door crushed under my friend's car as one of their "harmless" joke. Now there's not a single site on the internet selling these doors, and I'm desperate. I found dummy/display Captivates though, so I was just wondering if anyone knows if the dummy battery door can replace the REAL door by any chance?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having a problem of not having the screen turn on when you press the power button from sleep? It doesn't happen often but it does happen. This is my second Captivate as my last one would shut itself off randomly and that phone also had this problem.Yes, I make sure I pressed the power button and waited a couple seconds to make sure it just wasn't lag but I can guarantee you it is not. Like I said, it doesn't happen all the time but maybe once every 2 days. I'm guessing it's a slight problem with other users as it happened on my last phone but I'm not sure. Hopefully it's a software issue.
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I was out on my motorcycle and had about 60% battery left on my Vibrant.Figuring I wasn't going to need the phone for a few hours I powered the phone off, calling myself saving battery. When I turned the phone back on I was totally surprised that the battery was down to 38% immediately following powering up.This happens every time I power the phone down-I lose about 20% consistently. It also happens when google maps shits itself and either freezes the phone (necessitating a battery pull reset) or causes a spontaneous reboot. Is this normal? I've had my phone for a bit over two weeks (so out of my remorse period) and my besides this my battery works and lasts rather well, considering how much this phone has going on.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhat is the difference between "automatic brightness adjustment" and "power saving mode" which has the description "save power by adjusting image and adjusting LCD brightness"? Which one should I have on to conserve battery? It sounds like the do the same thing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using CM7.1.0 RC1 - tass - kang for about 3 months paired with 360 launcher v2.0. everything is running smooth. until 2 days ago, the bluetooth always automatically turned on during incoming or outgoing call. i've looked over and over again in setting, but couldn't find what makes the bluetooth on. it's very annoying, since i have to manually turn off the bluetooth after any call
the latest software i installed on my phone is ROM TOOLBOX the free version, download it from the market (very handy n usefull tool indeed). But i didn't change any setting there...
Will battery life be affected if you leave Bluetooth turned on and leave the headset off.Just read leaving GPS on doesn't effect the battery if you are not using an app that uses GPS.Thought this might work for Bluetooth also.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI poked around the site (here and XDA) and didn't find anything that said there was an issue with syncing a bluetooth headset(s). I'm not running any lagfixes (at least nothing enabled via rom-manager for now) and I have a jawbone headset. Has anyone else had this problem, and could I have borked bluetooth with an app/user-data restore (Titanium)?

View 8 Replies View RelatedGot my captivate today, loving it so far, first experience with Android. I was on the phone with my GF today, talking on my bluetooth headset and I was trying to browse the web while we were talking. My connection (WiFi) was being very flaky, extremely slow, or just plain unable to load anything. Turned wifi off and when I tried to turn it back on, it refused to connect to my network.
When I got off the phone with her, I tried to connect to WiFi again and it worked perfectly fine, full speed. Made a phone call to test it out, same result, WiFi extremely slow or not working at all. At that point I thought there was something wrong with the phone being unable to make a phone call and use WiFi at the same time. Then I decided to try disconnecting my BT headset and it worked perfectly. Right now I'm streaming a video off youtube with a phone call connected, but the second I turn my BT headset on the connection dies.
When my car bluetooth downloads the phonebook from my captivate, it downloads some contacts, but doesn't download the ones from my exchange server. They show up fine in the contacts app, but the car doesn't receive them. I thought it might be an issue with the way they were put into the contacts, so I undid the built in android exchange account, deleted the contacts, then installed touchdown and populated it that way. Still no joy. I thought that originally it was downloading them correctly (using the built in exchange sync) but either stopped working correctly, or never was and I just now noticed it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I have navigation going and am wearing my bluetooth, or using the bluetooth speaker from my visor, the first one to two words do not make it through the bluetooth. For example, if it says "Turn right on main street", I'll here "right on main street". Some times I'll here "main street". I am certain that it is missing those words, because I can listen w/o bluetooth and hear it all. I am presuming that maybe it 'disconnects' the voice until it needs to use it, and it results in an lag.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have ford sync and it worked flawlessly with my iphone. The captivate will pair and download address book just fine.I authorized it to allow access however it will not automatically connect when in range.I read someplace this feature is fixed in froyo my question is can you get froyo early or do we have to wait for samsung to push it out?
