For 4 of my albums all the songs and the albums names come up as random amounts of ?s. i dont know how to fix it, i tried re-downloading them, and taking out some characters from the names but nothing will fix it. so is there any way to fix this or what is the cause. and is there any way to change name of songs and albums on the phone by just using the phone.

I don't remember how I did it, but I was somehow able to upload all the photos that I've taken with the camera to Picasa. Now I have quite a few videos in there as well, but I do remember a message saying that videos are not supported by Picasa and that only the photos would be uploaded. I'm now trying to do the same thing, but whenever I choose the entire 'Camera' folder to upload to Picasa, the only 'Share' options are YouTube, Gmail, and Bluetooth. Does anyone know how I may have done that the first time, or a way to sync photos from the gallery to Picasa web albums?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am on my 2nd captivate and the first had its own series of issues but in a week i never had it shut it self down(though it did randomly restart). This new one after a couple days shut it self off twice today.i noticed it was not untill i turned on the automatic wifi off in Juicedefender. i turned off the Wifi auto shut off and did not have the issue return(I have not tried turing it back on to reproduce the issue). Now i have no proof this is connected. and could simply be luck. what i am asking is for those with this issue are you using juicedefender(ultimate)? and is your Auto wifi on or off?

This occurs with random pages, it happens about once out 20 times I go to load any web page.
It does not happen on the all pages, just certain pages. (I've failed to note which pages so far) When it does happen, if I try to open that same web page again again, it crashes. If I immediately try another web page it's fine.
My Captivate is original, w/ver 2.1 Eclair, not rooted (yet) and otherwise operates very well. So far it's the only bug I've had.
I sync contacts with work exchange server.I am finding that contact's first and last names are randomly being switched. It's not a huge amount,but I usually find two or so a week.This has been going on for a while now and I don't see any pattern to it other than I believe it is limited to contacts that are (or have been) used in the HTC People widget.Now.I just switched to LauncherProPlus. so we'll see if this behavior continues. I was curious if anyone else has experienced this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHe's got a Cricket LG Optimus C, and I've got a Cricket Huawei Mercury. A couple of weeks ago, my son's contact list all of a sudden had a bunch (like over 100) random contacts added to it, all of people he doesn't know. Now all of a sudden, mine has done the same thing - I suddenly have a bunch of random contacts in my list, and I don't know any of them. I opened a bunch of them up, and they all have the same area code as we've got, if that makes any difference. I haven't downloaded any apps in about a week, so I don't think that could have anything to do with it, plus the most recently downloaded apps that I have were things that my son didn't have, so I don't think that an app is the reason for it. I did a google search, and I couldn't find anything like it. It's not a huge deal, but it's annoying to have to go through and delete a bunch of contacts, so if there's anything in particular causing it, I'd like to figure out how to stop it from happening again.

This doesn't happen to songs in English, but in Korean (Not all songs though). I tried renaming, changing song info. My best guess is the locale/text setting.
Anyone else noticed their phone making peculiar playlists for their MP3's? I made 3 playlists using doubleTwist and put them on my phone and when I rebooted my phone yesterday my phone had created several other playlists on it's own each with no more than 3 or 4 songs in it. Anyone else noticed anything similar to this at any point?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my Captivate to 2.2 two weeks ago and ever since the phone will shut itself off without making a sound (screen just goes black like the battery was pulled out) randomly. I do notice it never does it if the charger is plugged in.
I also am having a problem with txting. Sometimes when I am replying to a txt to one person, it will sent the message to a random person in my contacts instead of the person I intended to send the txt to.
Lastly, when I take a pic with the camera or download a pic from a txt, it takes awhile for it to show up in my gallery...
None of these things were happening when it was still running 2.1.
Ok, I'm quite confused. I've had my Samsung Captivate for about 4 days now, and today when i plugged it in mid-day to charge (om nom nom battery life) it started emitting random, extremely obnoxious high-pitched beeps about 2 times per minute. It does it whether or not it's on A/C power, it even does it when the phone's powered off but the battery's in there, I just don't understand why or how to stop it.
Phone is awesome otherwise! Anyone having this issue/ know where it's coming from?
So its been about a month and a half that I've had my captivate. I've had a few problems with the phone and have searched them, I have found most have the same problems but no one gives any answers to what you can do to fix it.
Problems:
.phone restarts at random times until the battery is taken out and put back in
.text messages delete at random times
.phone does not sync with Facebook
.it does not retrieve e-mails
.gets a bit laggy at times for a 1gHz processor
.seems like the side buttons seems a smashed in and do not "click" properly
Does anyone have any answers to these problems?
Also I wanted to do a factory restore so how can I save my files/ contacts/ etc before I do this to see if it fixes any of the problems.
How to backup my phone would be great..
Has anyone else notices that when using the Android keyboard the predictive text will randomly capitalize words? Its kind of bugging me and I've rooted my phone, so is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?

I've classified them and made lists (like several buttons)...leading to the activity displaying the corresponding tutorials.
Now since most of them are going to be mostly text , What is the best way to implement it ?
I want it to be scrollable ...and zoomable and simply Display all the steps of the tutorial vertically on one page (like we see in MS word- neat.)

I am already syncing the Picasa Web Album for my mail google account on my galaxy, but i have a secondary google acount which I sync emails from. When I go to Accounts and Sync, there is no option for me to sync my second google acount's Picassa Web Albums. Does anybody know how I can sync 2 Picasa Web Albums, both of which have been setup on different google accounts?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just got myself a Desire since last week and I am really really happy with it. It's my first android phone (previously had a Nokia N95) so I am still trying to get my head around it.
I've just realised that the phone is using massive quantities of data over the last two or three days. I have installed an app to show me how much and it is saying over 4gb, a lot of it during the night when I have not being using the phone.
I have obviously been using the phone a lot since I got it but nothing close to that amount. The most data hungry app that I can think of that I have used is Grooveshark and that was only for about 20 minutes. Also I have gone into all the apps I can think of and made sure that they are either set for manual sync or else no more than once a day. Is there a way for me to tell which app or widget or whatever is using all of this data? I am sure I have forgot to change the settings on something but I cannot figure out what it could be.
I will be developing a dictionary app for both Android and iPhone. The data will be embedded within the app, and it consists out of approximately 100000 words, with genus and plural form. Is it better to use a SQLite database or can I just stick to XML? Somehow SQLite sounds more efficient, but I thought let's just ask.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I transfer mp3 files onto my Galaxy which is USB mounted I can see the various music albums in file explorer. However, when I open the standard music player only a few of the albums are recognised.
Instead the songs are just scattered under "Songs". I have tried with various music players from the Market but the result is the same. This happens even though the songs are tagged.
Is there any way to make Music Player recognise the various albums?
some of my albums are syncing (my main pictures album), but my screenshots are not. How can I fix it so my screenshots also sync to Google+ or at least to google drive? Note that my phone is not rooted
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Incredible since 4/28, and everything has been working smoothly up until about last Thursday night when it just restarted out of the blue while I was listening to music. Then right after it booted up, it restarted again, then again about seven more times. I got fed up and took out the SD card and it seemed to stop after that, so I haven't put the SD card back in since then.
Just now, Wednesday, about a week later, I was browsing around on the internet and all of a sudden, it restarted, and then again, and again, and again. I've read that it is because of poor signal strength or something like that so I had just enough time to put it in airplane mode before it restarted again.
Side note, that theory about it being caused by poor signal seems to make sense because the first time it happened to me I was out of town in a city that gets very bad coverage with Verizon, and now today when it started happening again was at my house where for some reason I get very bad service with the incredible, my old phone worked perfectly fine in my house but the incredible gets terrible service, and so does my brother's Droid. In fact, about two weeks ago I got my first dropped call on Verizon in about three years, and it was in my house.
So anyways, I decided to put it in airplane mode, and just after I put it in airplane mode it restarted again. Then when it booted back up my Helix Launcher 2 home screen went back to the standard Helix Launcher 2 icons, I go into my messages and everything is gone, my contacts are all gone, everything is gone. I go to the app menu and all my apps are still there, but when I start up an app, all the custom settings are default now. I went into the settings and my accounts are all still there. I click on internet and I get a terms of service agreement, it's as if I am booting it up for the first time, but for some reason my apps and accounts are all still there.
I turn airplane mode off thinking it might have something to do with it not being connected to my google account, and I restart it again and everything is still gone. I don't know what to do, has this happened to anyone before? I feel like there should be a way for me to get this stuff back since my apps are still there and my accounts are still synced, but random things are missing like my contacts and messages etc. This is really starting to get annoying, I have insurance and everything, but I really don't want to exchange it for another one because I've read that other people who have had there phones replaced have still had the same rebooting problem, even after going through multiple replacements.
Just bought a Samsung Vibrant and while everyone I have emailed in the past four years shows up in my contacts none of names/numbers I put into my G1 are. Used the same SIM card- traded it from the G1 to the Vibrant. Any tips?

I'm curious if it is just a setting I haven't found since not but 2 days ago I found out that you CAN get the phone to vibrate for texts it just isn't in the general settings.It shows folder names which makes finding them easy but I want to see the file names too. For example, I have Tin Man in a folder but when I open the folder it is just thumbnails of the 3 parts.
It's just by chance that the computer copied the last file first so they are in order but this not only isn't going to happen often but I would like to store all my movies and music videos in general folders and browse through them without making a new one for every file.
Sometimes when i recieve a text, the drop down notification bar might say its from "Mike" for example, when actually when i go into the text application, it is from my wife or someone else.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with my own theme (using metamorph), and I wanted to change the stock wallpapers. I know how to, I know where, but when I went to check the default wallpaper names, I don't have them anymore.
Anyway, when I want to select a new wallpaper from the "Gallery", I only have one choice, the "wallpaper_snow_leopard". I have put many wallpapers in the launcher.apk, but none of them show up (I'm guessing because they are not named after the stock wallpapers). The "wallpaper_snow_leopard" isn't the actual leopard, but that's what I wanted.
There seems to be a file called "wallpapers.txt" in the assets folder of the launcher apk, anybody know what this is about? Thanks.
What are the application names for the Voicemail function in DE03? (i seem to have deleted them...since I no longer have a Voicemail icon available)
And where do I put them?
Is there a way to display the names of videos or pictures when viewing them in the gallery? Alot of my videos have the same beginning screen shot so to find the one I want I have to literally watch them to figure it out. There has to be a way to show the names without having to go through My Files > media > videos. I want to know what the names are when I go to view them
