Dec 10, 2009so i am new to android a bit, coming from winmo....is there a way like on winmo to stop running apps to preserve battery life? like turning off data after browsing the web? also what are some tips for using this phone, like maintaining battery life etc.

Jan 13, 2010Ok so when i go my behold i thought the battery life was great, it lasted one and half days of excessive usage. But now the battery seems to deplete extremely fast even when i dont use it at all.For example it is fully charged in the morning and in the afternoon its one bar down even though i dint use it at all.i run taskiller to moniter running programs and have only wifi on. Is it some app i downloaded? Please help i dont know what to do.

Mar 1, 2010I know this phone isn't know for blinding speed (at least running it stock), but lately it's having trouble keeping up with text input from the keyboard. Is this normal? I am using taskiller to kill any not needed background apps and normally have over 120mb left in RAM. Any tips on what I can do to fix this? I'm trying to hold off rooting until I get the t-mobile update. Also, does the phone normally give inaccurate battery readings to the widgets? Because I am literally looking at the phone and watching the percentage go up... up 6 percent in the last hour. lol anyone else getting this?

May 15, 2010As I just got my phone with installed rom 1.6 for the Behold 2, I am frustrating when the battery life drains so fast after last night. I was playing a bit with the WiFi and the battery status bar was still less then half bar. After I woke up today, the battery has shown that the battery is less than 5%. I did turn off my WiFi and using only 2g network to save battery life. I clicked on "why", it showed the Green Bar with the word Android System 95%. What does this mean and how can I save more battery life since I don't use it the whole night. So the phone suppose to be less than half bar battery life at least.
1.Putting the phone in sleep can save battery life or not on the Behold II?
2.What are some ways that can save the battery life on the Behold II?
3.Does the charging technique can at least save some part the of the battery life? If so , How do I charge my Behold II ? Leaving it all drain out, turning off the phone and then charge it ?
Here are some ways that I have read in android forums
1. use spare app
2. use task manager
I didn't try these two.

Jan 28, 2010I dont have a data package, I use net only through WIFI. I think my phone is still searching for 3G network and eating up my betery life, it doesnt last more than a day. Is there any way to turn off the 3G or any other way to improve my battery life ? Its a new phone, only a week old.

Jan 1, 2010So i am working on the m900 battery issue right now and we know exactly what is wrong with the meter reporting values (samsung set 15% to = 3.74V while the nominal voltage is 3.7 so it reports 15% when it is really more like 60-40% somewhere in that region).Does the behold 2 suffer from this same problem or is there really a battery life from full charge to phone wont turn on?If you dont have this issue, and have access to the open source files for it please let me know.. i need the battery.c and .h since these phones use the same battery

Say I opened Music and internet. Voice dialer, maps, and gesture search will have opened as well.
HTC EVO 4G :: Random Rebooting After Setting To Save Battery Life
Jun 7, 2010The issue started happening last night after I had tweaked a couple settings to save battery life. I was on a job site today and the phone rebooted 4 or more times within a 2 hour time period. It absolutely killed my battery too. I took my phone off the charger at 9am and by 12:30pm it was @ 15% or so. Luckily I had a spare battery in my pocket. I have since turned back on the "enable always on mobile data" and haven't had any issues since. Battery usage seems a little bit excessive still though. I have had a few smart phones so I know what to expect as far as battery usage.

Don't worry, I'll still be getting another My battery life hasn't been as great as everybody mentioned, my phone suffers from random reboots (nothing helped, i tried it all), and now I noticed my camera has 4 stuck pixels. Not so bad in Camera mode, but a lot more prominent in Camcorder mode. So how should I do it? I purchased it in store at a VZW. So am I restricted just to that, or can I call VZW? Which route would be better? Anything I should know about beforehand?

Mar 11, 2014Since few weeks my battery life get drained by my screen. My screen brightness is on his lowest and still draining like 20-30% battery life each hour. Sometimes my screen even drain in stand-by mode... Every other draining apps/things are off.
And then we have random reboots... My nexus 4 just reboot without any reason. Sometimes its reboot in stand-by mode and sometimes when I use my phone. But both without any reason to reboot...?

Feb 14, 2010I did a search on this topic and didn't find anything specific to the BH2. Has anyone else experienced this? I got the phone yesterday and the phone has already crashed twice. It's almost as if the phone has died, but I can't turn it on or anything. I have to remove the battery and then turn it on. This can't be normal. Should I head back and get a different one?

Sep 7, 2010running with the moto droid - since the latest update, my phone is chronically opening apps every few seconds and it is destroying my battery. before the update, i would have to kill maybe 3-4 apps over an extended period of time. now it takes about 1 minute and i'm killing 10-15 apps. any reason for this happening? how can i fix it? it's getting annoying when my battery life is terrible. i don't know a whole lot about the phone.

Jul 20, 2010I noticed that even when my battery hatch is closed all the way (and yes, I definitely clicked it into position fully), there is still a small opening between the fake carbon backing (that comes off all the way when you access the battery) and the little plastic piece that slides up and down to allow the carbon backing to be removed. On the top part, where the fake carbon backing meets the top part of the phone (the bit that has the camera on it), there is no such gap. Does anyone else have this? Just want to make sure it's 'normal' and that I don't have my backing on improperly / a defective phone.

Apr 4, 2010I have been playing around with two applications that have widgets to show estimated battery life left.At one point, they seemed to show times that were pretty close but after updating to 2.1 they were off a bit. I am guessing 2.1 might have changed (hopefully improved) battery life and that caused calibration issues.I am just looking for any feedback from the community about which of these two apps they prefer, or if there are others I should look into. Sep 1, 2010I've had my htc incredible for a few days and I absolutely love it. However, I am less than pleased with the battery life. I run a good amount of apps and widgets and am sure this is causing the life to drain. I downloaded ATK in order to close apps when not in use, but I've noticed a strange occurrence. It seems that w/i 10 minutes of closing unneeded apps a bunch of programs that I have not been using open up. Is there any explanation for this? Also, is there a way to immediately close an app when I'm done using it rather than having to find the ATK widget?

Nov 15, 2010I'm a very happy KaosFroyo 37 user, but I have some misc questions.(sorry, this item is a sort of double-post) Do any of these lockscreen widgets work with Froyo? When I was running Android 1.5 and 2.1, I would keep my screen pattern-locked most of the time, since it lives in my pants' pocket and I want to avoid it activating accidentally. Then when I get into the car and place my phone in a cup holder, I would unlock the phone once and click a widget which would leave it unlocked (for easy access to GPS, etc.) for the duration of my ride, when I would lock the phone again and put it back in my pocket.Now with Android 2.2 I can't do this with the lock pattern, because apparently the security mechanisms don't permit it; one must re-enter the lock pattern several times, which is very time-consuming. Is there another approach for 2.2 users? I don't need very strong security, just want to avoid accidental phone calls and other accidental activations.
While (Android's) Manage Applications worked for me initially, now it only works the first time after a reboot. I.e., I can run it once, but on any subsequent attempts it will hang while attempting to populate its app list. As workaround I purchased Quick App Clean Cache, which is nice in its own right, but it would still be nicer not to have this problem. Also I'm not 100% convinced that Quick App Clean Cache is always giving me the complete set of options for an app, e.g. to move it to an SD card. Have others encountered this problem? I could probably generate a logcat for debugging purposes.
Most apps will let you move them to the SD card in KaosFroyo 37, even though I haven't checked the CyanogenMod option to permit these.I guess that there are a few more apps which might copy more completely to the SD card if I used this option.Can anyone shed any light on this option and whether it's saves any memory, and whether it induces any instability?I'm always careful not to copy widgets to the SD card.Battery life is a continued mystery; clearly much worse than before I rooted. Apparently the CPU tweaker isn't recommended (I guess it uses too much battery life trying to figure out whether it needs to adjust the CPU speed), and the battery life tweaker on the XDA forum described doesn't provide a very clear strategy. What do folks recommend? [ Correction: I had read a pretty incoherent writeup somewhere on XDA, but now see Collin_ph Battery Tweak RC1 for Cyanogen / Darch Froyo roms (possibly others) - xda-developers which is well-written. I will try this approach, but welcome your experiences.
