Guys I found an awsome keyboard that I believe to be better than Swype.It's called ShapeWriter keyboard, let me know what you guys think.I thought I had found a new keyboard but apparently its been out for awhile! Although it has it advantages and disadvatages over swype, I still like it! Sorry for posting this in the "root" forum, lol I forgot about the regular forum!

I've been looking for Swype, ShapeWriter etc online and just can't seem to find it fo rthe desire anywhere.
Anyone have any ideas?
I have installed Swype beta and Shapewriter. After installing, form the home screen I press menu, settings, language & keyboard and click either swype or shape-writer.However, when I use an application like G mail, or the web browser, the droid default keyboard is displayed rather the swype or shape-writer,Any suggestions on where I need to adjust settings so that the default keyboard is either swype or shape-writer?I have used swype in the past and it worked great, unitil the beta expired. I just downloaded the new beta from the swype.com site. Just can't make it the default though.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI'm using Swype now, but it is kind of frustrating me with its inconsistency adding words to the user dictionary. I also hate having to slide my finger off the keyboard to capitalize a letter and the fact that it doesn't auto-capitalize with new sentences. I used ShapeWriter previously, but I always had problems typing symbols with it, and the large number of proper nouns that came with its user dictionary really annoyed me. I have yet to try SlideIT.

Till then, I was wondering if anyone had the version of swype with all the languages, or a package to add certain languages? i have searched for a while, but cant seem to find the download anywhere.
I'm sorry if this is a nub question, but is there a leaked version of Swype for the BH2? I was under the impression it only works in 1.6, but who knows with what people are capable now days.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been using Take5 for quite awhile now; however, recently, I decided to flash to the official 1.6 OTA release just out of curiosity. After playing around with it for a little while, I decided to flash back to Take5 (because I missed having root and I really don't like TouchWiz). After flashing back to Take5, I noticed that my baseband was still the new one (T939UVJE2) and I thought to myself, alright I got the new baseband out of this. Anyways, on to Swype... The official 1.6 OTA release includes a newer version of Swype than Take5. Upon testing it, I found it to work a little better than the one in Take5 (slightly more accurate and a little faster). Could someone please send me the new version of the swype apk that's included in 1.6 OTA release?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the email saying that there was an update for the swype beta. In order to update you have to uninstall the installer and the keyboard. I am on bhmans take 5 so i removed it from system/app and wiped the data then attempted to install it and it wont even open it just force closes constantly.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHas anyone gotten a better keyboard on a Behold 2? Every time i install Better Keyboard or the voice type, my Behold locks up (4 hard resets yesterday). I get an error about twsettings, the phone starts to mess up, i reboot, and it locks up. I cant get it to finish booting. It freezes on the android logo screen (45 minutes). I like Better Keyboard.I really dont like the Samsung keyboard but im sick of hard resets.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have the Shapewriter keyboard v 3.0.9 - I love it and I would like to install the German language add on but it is not available in the Market anymore.
1) Is the language add on just a different keyboard layout or does it actually recognize the German words?
2) I found and downloaded com.shapewriter.android.imlanguage.german.apk but I cannot seem to install it. I get a Parse Error when I try to install using an app installed from the SD card... since it is an add on to another app do I need to install it is a different way?
3) If this file is not correct for my version, does anyone have the file or can you tell me where to download it?
Was holding my phone a weird way, hit some buttons by accident and there were weird keys on there. Arrows, cut, copy, paste buttons. Don't know how I got there, would like to know how to get back though.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFor a while now since i got the vibrant, i've been using swype.IMHO This is one of the best keyboards out there. but there's a flaw in the keyboard,it's annoying because i always do it! And what i was wondering, is if we can disable it, or delete it all together. In swype keyboard, on the bottom right hand corner, theres a button for the Smiley face. Which is also under the most used backspace key. So you know, whenever i'm trying to delete some text, instead of deleting text, i get a bunch of ":-)" it is extremely annoying. I never used this key on purpose, and what i was wondering is that if we could some how delete that smiley button .

But in some programs I use (e.g. Tasker / Jotro) the swype keyboard pops up when I click a text field (as it should), but if I'm done, sometimes it shows a "done" button on the swype keyboard itself (and when I click on that, the swype keyboard dissappears), but sometimes, there isn't a done key on the keyboard (only an enter key which gives a new line in the text field I'm editing) and I can't scroll in the program to the save/done button in the program itself to save what I just typed. Does someone know whether there is a quick way to get rid of the Swype keyboard after I finished typing?
My (frustrating workaround) is to go to Swype options, press back, and the swype keyboard is gone.

I had been switching between the stock virtual keyboard and swype depending on the length and nature of what I was writing. Bt last night I downloaded shapewriter which does both just as easily as the 2 seperate apps (I found tap typing annoying on swype) shapewriter doesn't pick up words as easily as swype @ first bt after messing around with it for a couple of hours it became a lot easier. Point of this thread? Shapewriter is worth checking out, let me know what you think! Also, if you know of any other free keyboards worth checking out let me know.

Has anyone managed to get the HTC KB to work post 1.6? I really don't like swype even though I have given it a chance.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI just installed BH_Man's 1.6 notwiz using Odin and everything is working great except my HTC sense keyboard seems to crash nonstop now (it was working before with just stock 1.5). Is anyone here also having that problem? If someone has a working sense keyboard app that works with this rom, can you please upload it or tell me which version the app is? Swype is cool but I would also like to have the sense keyboard as well.

The Swype Keyboard on my wife's Captivate is not working correctly. The SYM button and the one to the left of it are blanked out - meaning they are just black boxes and clicking/pressing them does nothing. She has had to switch to the default keyboard and she hates it.Any idea what is going on and how to fix this?

But when I'm attempting to download evo swype.apk, it doesn't work.I can open up Astro File manager to show my downloads, but only a .bin file that's 1.77 mb in size is being downloaded.Do you have any ideas how to get past this so I can actually download the Swype keyboard onto my Evo?
