Samsung Behold 2 :: Drivers - Code 10 - This Device Cannot Start
May 27, 2010
I am getting the "Code: 10 - This device can not start" issue.
Running XP SP3
Looking at the device manager I see the following drivers installed under:
USB Controllers>
Samsung USB Composite Device>
-
sscdbus.sys
sscdwh.sys
sscdwhnt.sys
-
What driver am I missing? I read that there should be four. One for adb? I have even tried selecting the adb driver and it still only installs the three. I build computers for a living and can not for the life of me figure this out.

Not sure if this goes here or not, but I am having problems getting my Windows 7 machine to recognize my BH2. Is there a way to get the drives so I can install them so I can use my Mass Storage on my phone?

I was trying to setup my adb drivers and sdk and all that so I could root my phone. I was following a tutorial on theunlockr.com. I couldnt get my device to show up so I used "deview" to remove the drivers so i could reinstall them. Now my computer tells me it is unable to locate them.

I have had this phone since April and it has been pretty disappointing overall with the whole not upgrading to Android 2.1 and such, but that's not the issue right now. I bought a new laptop about 2 weeks ago and I want to use my phone with my laptop. I download the drivers for the phone and they could not install and everytime I connect the phone to the computer it says the device is not recognized. The phone now can't connect and I can't see the files that are on the phone. I want to be able to put music and videos on my phone and I can't now. It works perfectly fine one my desktop which is an XP, but I wont be able to use the desktop because I will be leaving for college soon.

I crashed it by messing around with one of the apps (I replaced an audio file then rebuilt and signed the app, and then the app crashed after it played the file), and the only way I could turn it off was to take out the battery. Now it won't start up again. It gets past the flashing Samsung animation, but then after that I just get a blank screen. The light behind the buttons stays on and I can't turn the phone off without taking out the battery.I've tried taking the SIM card out and pressing the volume down button, send button, then end button but the same thing happened.

I have little doubt that the battery problems would be solved by bumping out of cupcake. I actually like Touchwiz, but it seems to be causing a ton of problems. Once we get 2.0 from Samsung, I don't think we can rely on it to fix the little things. It's time to bump it up to stock ourselves. I'm no ROM cooker, but I'm willing to try. Now that we have persistent root, what next? How do we start making ROMs for this thing?

I have a brand new Nexus One. I'm trying to follow the directions for installing the USB driver. When I plug in the device, it doesn't start the New Hardware Wizard, as the documentation suggests. I can run hdwwiz.exe to launch it and manually install the driver, but when I do, Device Manager says: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

The mounting and unmounting of the sd card, I read up and Ordered a class 6 verbatum card. But the big Issue is my windows will not recognize the behold 2. When I hook it up it tells me usb device not recognized then inside it says Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) Port_#0006.Hub_#0005. I have tried to install the usb drives I found on this site but it will not allow them to install. I have gone in and deleted My upper and lower system file in the registry.
I have bought a new cable < universal> I did not have the OEM cable and Samsung refused to send me one said it was tmobiles responsibility. I have hooked it up to a Vista 32 bit system and nothing. Also when I hook it too the usb it only shows charging no usb notification on the screen. I seem to remember reading it should have a usb symbol on the upper right corner? I have also already set the system setting to usb mass storage.

'm not a newbie, but I am new to Android.(all of 5 days) My problem is this. Even though my phone is paired with my PC, when I try to send a JPEG.... Or any file for that matter to my phone it says: Error, device does not accept files of this type. How can it not accept a JEPG when the pics on the device are JPG's ? Also I am not able to explore the phone while on Bluetooth as with USB. Is this something new? My old Nokia 6263 enabled me to view files from the Bluetooth setting. Am I missing something here? Also, there is no prompt on the device to send a file via Bluetooth to the PC either.

All right guys I'm having all sorts of driver issues. At one time I've been able to take screen shots for my X, use adb, the works. Now for some reason I can't get any of it to work. I'm sure I have a driver conflict somewhere. What I want to do is wipe out all the drivers that are installed for my X and start from scratch like my X has never been plugged into my computer.

I ordered Le Pan II tablet yesterday.Today I found out that so far there are no ADB drivers released by manufacturer.Does it mean I will not be able to develop applications on this device at all? I do not mean developing applications that require root access (this tablet has not been rooted either but I am OK with this).

Windows 7 (64 bit) Dell Desktop PC and my lovely new Sony Xperia Z1 trying to send files via Bluetooth rather than keep plugging and unplugging the USB cable and risk breaking the cover. well that was my plan anyway. The Dell didn't come with Bluetooth so I bought a wee plug-in USB Bluetooth unit. I have managed to copy a couple of files but it took ages to get it to connect properly and now it won't do it at all. There are 4 driver messages under hardware which all show problems with Bluetooth peripheral device and no drivers installed, but I can't find any anywhere?

I've installed AndroidSDK and have the drives download but every time I point Windows to the folder it says no drivers were found for my device. I'm trying to do this with the phone being recognized as an ADB device.
I got the PC to recognize my phone by installing HTC Sync but in the Device Manager it still shows a yellow exclamation point.
When I troubleshoot it, it says Windows can not launch driver "Error 37". Anyone know what's wrong? I have my phone rooted using the PB00IMG.zip file but can not complete the recovery partition due to the Windows not being able to communicate with my Eris.

And can I uproot if I need to send my phone to t-mobile for something? Can they tell if I've rooted it? Sorry just a few questions on my mind before I root.

Alright whats up people I was recently searching through and through for a way to get mobile internet without paying that ridiculous android price so as I was searching I stumbled across a regular behold forum at Samsung Behold Forum - New Proxy (TMobileX (Free Internet!)) - UPDATE: Analysis 01.07.10 -> 1500 Users because someone said free internet for it and I gave it a run to see if it would work with our behold 2 and surely enough it does.
Instructions on how to use proxy:
Open up the (default) browser on your Samsung Behold.
Type in the following address into the : tmo-x.co.cc/tmobilex/
Type in the address you want to visit in the form on the page and select whether or not you want to use my HTML trick (free; allows you to see sites in full HTML not 'WAP-stripped').

After many attempts to try and use the terminal emulator that is already preloaded onto the behold 2 , and many failures..After trying out different Terminal Em.'s and always having my phone lag because they wernt made for it...i have finally found a way to get terminal emulator working with no lag or no slow down in performance... First you must have root,of course, Next, Use an app called root explorer or something similar and goto the folder /system/app/ and find the two files Term.apk and Term.odex, and MOVE them to your sd card from your phone, you want them gone from your system/app folder After that simply goto the market and search for Terminal Emulator , re-download and there you have it, Working term. em. on the behold 2.Peace Ladz.

I was succesfully able to get adb to detect my phone serial. but whenever I type in: adb shell /data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh

I want to start the activity owned by other application. I know we could construct the Intent(setAction, setClass), and then call context.startActivity(intent) to start a new activity owned by the same application. When we start the activity not owned by the same application, doest this also work?
For example, I have a activity (com.test.StartTest) and there is a button that used to start some activity Settings owned by the Phone:

This phone has the WORST idea for an sd slot. When trying to take out my sd card, i took off the cover that holds the sd card.I could use some pictures on how its supposed to look when connected. I have been trying to put it back on and all I ended up doing was bending it.I got my hands on an HTC Leo Windows mobile 6.5. Best implementation of an SD card slot ever.

I'm not sure this is actually allowed here, but since I usually go to StackOverflow and search for answers (and in many cases find the answers) I thought I would ask a question and then answer it myself =)
So, I have Sygic Navigation om my HTC Hero, and since I need to start that app from code (and then use the API to control it) I did some investigation on how to start it - what intent to use.
So, the question is: what Intent or Activity should I use to start the app?

Looks like samsung is getting tired of all the tweets asking about android updates for the behold 2 they just posted this on the samsung mobile twitter page:"Samsung Behold II users: At this time, we don't have information on an Android update for the Samsung Behold II.If we receive information on an update for the Behold II, we will be sure to keep everyone posted.
this was posted by samsung and is NOT in response to a question, they're just "keeping us posted." guess they are sick of us asking all the time, well...just give us a godd**n update then Sammy!!!!!
