Since the recent update I have been unable to pick up a 3G signal.
The Nexus used to show a 3G symbol but now all I get is either a G or E.
I am now in the middle of Manchester when I used to pick up a 3G signal and all I can pick up is Edge.
Has anyone else experienced this or know how this can be solved?
What does G mean if its not 3G, could it be 2G? Whatever that is...

So i did the update to froyo went smoothly however no data. phone works but can't get on internet or setup gmail. went back to cyanogen and still no data now.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI had dolphin installed to check out MT, but really never liked it. As soon as the MT update was installed on my phone, I removed dolphin. Then I noticed that my regular browser was no longer multitouch. As soon as I installed dolphin again, multitouch returned to the stock browser. So to me it looks like dolphin was installing the same MT files that the stock browser now uses, and when it uninstalls, it removes those files. Looks like this may be something dolphin needs to update for. Can anyone else try this out and confirm it for me?
I am thinking maybe I can uninstall dolphin, then reflash the update, but I am not sure if this will cause a problem, can I just reinstall and update on top of an update?
Anyone else lost 3G? My phone is fine cause I haven't flashed a ROM in a few days. But I Rooted a friend of mines yesterday and flashed Suave Smush. Everything was fine until he called me this morning and said he had lost 3G. A little later it would not send or receive a text message. Then it kept saying he was out of his home network. We wipped it clean and did the Nand Restore and its fine now. His phone still has Android 1.5.

Sometimes when I'm accessing a news app, an exclamation point appears and I lose all connectivity. I usually have to restart the phone to regain connectivity. Is there any other way to regain web access other than restarting the phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently did a factory reset and flashed stock Android 2.3.6 back onto my Nexus S. Ever since I did that I have been getting an alert show up on my screen whenever my data connection is lost or restored. This is really annoying since I'm using JuiceDefender and my data is turned off everytime I put my phone display to sleep and it is restored once I unlock my phone.
The message pops up in the middle of the screen in a grey box that says "The connection to the Internet has been restored."
I never had this on stock Android before or on Cyanogenmod 7, any way to turn off the alerts? Is this a new built in feature to 2.3.6?
I just tried to update to 2.2 and thought I backup my stuff but it didn't. Now got problems cannot do anything with phone seems to have lost all icons so I cannot adjust anything.

If I reboot my phone, I get the 3g symbol for about 2 seconds then it goes away and that's it.Someone please help me if you can!
View 4 Replies View RelatedBought a nexus 5 and cut and pasted 6 lecture recordings from my old GS3 to my nexus 5. Rooted the nexus 5 and deleted (accidentally) all the recordings. Is there any data recovery program or tool that I can use to retrieve them?
So, ctrl+x from gs3 ext memory card to ctrl+p onto nexus 5 internal storage. Wiped nexus 5 and now can't be found anywhere.
These recordings are extremely important (I know I lost them, I dont know what I was thinking)...
I purchased a nexus5 off of some guy that was selling one in my local area. The phone was in the original box and I was pumped at getting one for a bit cheaper than they are on the play store. Although this last week it randomly could not connect to the network, so I called Telus (my Canadian provider) and after a half hour of troubleshooting they told me that the IMEI is blacklisted as a lost or stolen device? Is there anyway I can change the IMIE address?

Changed my lock screen pin today, but apparently entered it wrong (twice?) so it wasn't what I thought it would be...

I have lost a few pdfs which I have been reading for weeks (!) on my Nexus 7 (Android 4.3). Via the reading history of my pdf reader (Moon+ reader) I can see that at least one file is still present in the cache under the following folder address: /data/data/com.google.android.apps.docs/cache/filecache2/c042587322c4a438463efbd2cc533cbf/mypdf1.pdf
How can I access this folder? When accessing the device via the Android File Transfer sofware for Mac, I don't see this folder. I have access to Android/data/com.google.android.apps.docs/files, but this folder contains no files but only another folder (called "pinned_doc_files_not_for_edit") which is also empty.
The lost pdf is still there, I can open it in the reader via the reading history, but I would like to access the folder to see whether other lost files (which are not in the reading history) are also still present. I have an unlocked N1 which has RA recovery/backup installed?..i think, its been a long time..sorry for new bie is Highness(is that a word)..Anyway..I have reset the device and now am on stock build number ERD79..firmware 2.1. If i do a wipe of the device when I restart i get the over the air update to 2.2. It downloads and verifies but when i restart i go to the boot loader? screen? and I get an install failed message.

Tried to use swype and the blue line wwent crazy. It extended past the screen and to uninstall. Will reinstall help.

A few months ago it started randomly resetting itself. 2 months ago it started resetting itself then going into a reset loop for a few minutes until it stayed on. A little while ago it just started shutting off and not turning back on for a couple of hours.
I searched on Google and there was a suggestion to update the software. I read the instructions and noted it said to do a backup. I went to m.sonyericcson.com/backup on the phone, downloaded the latest backup software, and created a backup. Took quite awhile but said it was successful. I then connected to the computer and did the software update. Turned the phone on and tried to do my restore thinking everything worked great. Unfortunately when I load the backup file it says
File Error: Cannot read selected backup file
Did I just totally ***** myself and lose all of my data? Any ideas on how to make this backup file work? I will go back to 1.6 if it means I can actually use my phone, at this point it is useless without any of my contacts, programs or text conversations
I recently updated my Moment to 2.1 which of course wipes the phone. I used My backup Pro which lets you back up all your apps, and data.
So i did the flash to 2.1, loaded up my backup pro restored all my apps and data (was actually very easy and quick to do) which included two of the games i had been playing for a while now (World War & Vampiers). However when i loaded the game's back up it no longer had any of my game data. It started me over as if i was brand new to the game which really SUCKS!! Granted they weren't the best game around, but they gave me something to do when i only had a few min. I was lvl 37 on one and like lvl 31 on the other.....there is no way in hell i will start over on those game's.
Well so my phone tried to update to what I assume may have been Froyo but it failed due to the bug in the recovery 1.2.2 it would not accept a verified signature. I then went to go find the update again only to find out that my system claimed to be up to date and my phone was still at 2.1 update 1.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but since the last OTA update, my Eris was literally stuck in 1xRTT data mode for unknown reasons. I fiddled with all the mobile network settings I knew about to no avail.
On a lark, I dialed *611 to try to get tech support on the line. I figured that maybe the Seattle area was having some service issue or something. Instead, the tech suggested I try dialing *228 and hitting option 2 in the menu (essentially resetting the phone's roaming setup)
Boom goes the dynamite, as they say. After a reboot, my Eris is sailing on the winds of 3G awesomeness and it's all thanks to a Verizon tech giving the right answer. Never thought I'd actually utter those last six words.
I saw the forum thread here: Cant root, is it the latest ota software update? I can't seem to use any apps that require root access after android update earlier this week. I have an HTC Incredible, 2.2, rooted with un revoked. I can't seem to re-root it either. Not sure if this is to do with the update or not.

No contacts, no apps, no history, no ADW launcher with all the lovely themes and widgets and all the set-up I spent ages doing,...
What's going on? Have I lost it. Nothing much recovered when I tried to restore a back-up. Need to google register everything again.
I can see folders for apps that I had in the PC companion; but I can't seem to recover anything.

So now that we have the 2.2 update and overclocking is not working what would need to be done to get things running again?

Luckily i had a backup app on there so was able to restore them all but dont know why this happened
