I have a few question. My phone has build EPE54b. Cannot upgrade to 2.2. Eorror all the time. How can you tell if you phone is unlocked, same question but how to tell if rooted. How do I upgrade to 2.2? I keep on getting erros with the roms, If not rooted. Is it worth it.

what do i need to do to get froyo?
I have an unlocked N1 which has RA recovery/backup installed?..i think, its been a long time..sorry for new bie is Highness(is that a word)..Anyway..I have reset the device and now am on stock build number ERD79..firmware 2.1. If i do a wipe of the device when I restart i get the over the air update to 2.2. It downloads and verifies but when i restart i go to the boot loader? screen? and I get an install failed message.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEver since i manually updated to FRF50, ive never heard anymore phone notification sound whenever i boot up, shut down, or plug into USB. It always does that back in android 2.1. But i have never heard it since i got froyo. Is it supposed to be like this?

Here are the result:Nexus One (the tethering host device): 2Mbit/s down, 600Kbit up.My laptop on WIN 7 (connect to the hotspot): 200Kbit/s D, 600Kbit up Ipad (connected to the hotspot): 400Kb down, 600Kb up.The slow speed really annoys me. Even youtube is not watchable at the lowest quality setting. However, the upload speed is actually stay unaffected in all 3 situations, which made me think somehow the speed is controlled by Froyo.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnybody else having this problem in 2.2? I'm not sure if it ever worked or whether it stopped working since I did the update last night. I tried changing the pulse notification light setting and doing a reboot bit no luck. I googled the problem and a few other people have reported the same problem but no solutions.
I've only tested email notifications and app updates.
So i did the update to froyo went smoothly however no data. phone works but can't get on internet or setup gmail. went back to cyanogen and still no data now.

View 5 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago I manually installed froyo for Rogers network.It went fine.however the next day I lost my data.I can't get it back no matter what I do.Can anyone help me get it back?Or know how?I checked my APN settings a million times,I called Rogers and they refreshed my network but still not working. If I reboot my phone, I get the 3g symbol for about 2 seconds then it goes away and that's it.Someone please help me if you can!

Nexus One and Motorola Droid to Get Android 2.2 Froyo
i started with a stock N1 running unrooted froyo, then i unlocked the bootloader using the command "fastboot-windows oem unlock". i know that it is in fact unlocked because i see the open lock icon when the phone starts up now and i also see the **UNLOCKED** text in the bootloader menu. now I'm trying to use cyanogen's quick rooter (stock kernel) from here: Quick rooter for stock FroYo systems + 2.6.34 kernel - xda-developers. renamed it to update.zip (made sure it's not update.zip.zip), copied it to sdcard and I'm flashing it the same way i did the froyo update from the recovery menu but I'm getting an error saying signature verification failed. why would i still be getting this message after unlocking the bootloader?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a Nexus One user so already using froyo and of course stoked with it.Given that the phone is already superfast and tethering works, is there any real benefit to root, and / or custom ROMs?Previous to froyo the main motivation for custom rom would have been tethering but thats now moot. I am happy with stock android UI and wouldn't bother for just ui tweaks. I am interested however in possibility of getting better battery life, but am leery of losing the comfortable convenience of OTA stock updates. One of the reasons I picked an N1 at the time was that I knew I'd be getting 2.1 and 2.2 before any other model also side question, when you go custom rom and do a backup before flashing, does restoring the backup literally restore everything (apps, data, settings etc.) completely? i.e. everything remains in exactly the right place, your apps are all 100% intact, gmail/contacts/exchange/sms etc. all there etc.

As far as I can tell, I'm still having the same problem and it might even be worse because I've noticed that sometimes wifi disconnects even when the phone is plugged in, which didn't happen before.
View 16 Replies View RelatedAs Nexus One is the only model which has already "partly" updated to Froyo,Before Froyo, if I wanna enable/disable mobile data usage, I used a passive way, changing the APN server setting, to fool the system so it couldn't connect.In Froyo, there is a new option under Setings -> Wireless & Network Settings -> Mobile Networks called Data enabled/disabled, which is a much direct approach than changing the APN.But up to today, I've yet to see a widget which targets at this option. Currently I hv made a 3G shortcut to that setting page on to my home screen. Really hope there will be a toggle widget instead!So how do u guys enable/disable data usage at the moment without a handy widget on Froyo?

It's been working great but I keep getting messages about installing OTA updates but they always fail (says E: No signature (575 files) E: Verification Failed) I tried manually downloading the FRF85 and FRF91 update, copying as update.zip to my SD updating from the recovery menu but it still gives the same error. From the little info I've found online it may be an issue with the ROM but I can't tell for sure. My ultimate goal would be to go back to stock Android with the latest official Froyo build.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI own a Nexus One running Froyo. I can just not rely on its battery status. The battery rapidly discharges when I use the phone, but then increases by some amount if I keep it in my pocket.
I have had a lot of instances when I have stopped using my phone when the battery level falls below 30%(battery color from green to yellow), only to find it green when I use it again.
I have rooted my phone, allowed the battery to die, reset its stats, but in vain.
I am assuming no-one is going to send me Froyo OTA so where can I get a copy of Froyo to flash onto my Nexus One? As I use it for testing my apps I want it to be as close as possible to what a user would have and definitley do not want to root the phone.

I live in the uk and stuck between the HTC desire and Nexus One Froyo. From what I have read and learned, they are essentially the same phone, except nexus one receives the updates the quickest as it is the 'google experience' phone.
Right now im leaning more towards the nexus as it seems the froyo really does give the phone a stronger advantage. JIT, better interface etc... Am not that bothered about SenseUI and heard that froyo does make senseUI unnecessary in some areas. Despite rumors about the desire updating to froyo, majority of people are saying that it will be likely be autumn before the desire gets an update. So now that the froyo is picking up the interface and other substantial areas, what now gives the desire the edge over nexus?
My unbranded SGS is currently running 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6) which I updated via the registery hack last month. It's running smooth and I've not had any problems My question is, what is the difference between my existing version and the 'offical' Froyo 2.2 that will be released soon? Would I be able to update my firmware to the newer version since I'm already on 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6)?

I am not new to android: i have had the G1 which i did not root, the T-Mobile pulse, which i rooted and the HTC Legend and now the Nexus one.

With the legend i am am awhere of the Sence UI ? i liked how facebook contacts synced to my phone and when i rang i saw there display pictures, does the Nexus one do this?
SMS, is there a similar app to the legend, where you see threaded messages with a picture of there facebook dp?
I can't hear the phone when it rings, its so quiet, the volume is on max, is there anyway to increase this?
