I have two problems with the calendar on my Moto Droid. The first is that the calendar is not searchable. Does anyone know a way to do this? I like to be able to search my calendar into the future and in the past. The second problem, is things are being dropped off my calendar. Someone please help before I throw this thing.

Android :: Searchable Calendar That Import 10 Years Of Outlook Data

Sep 25, 2010

I recently bought a DroidX and am looking to import 10 years of Outlook calendar info. I don't need to do a two-way synch as I am using Touchdown for Exchange synchronization and it works great (but it is not good with large calendar history files). I just need a stand-alone calendar app that has it's own data file and can import my Outlook calendar history and allow me to search.

Nexus :: No Exchange Calendar

Jan 6, 2010

I got my Nexus One about an hour ago.. love the size of this phone but a big problem for me... there doesn't seem to be a calendar app that syncs with my Exchange account. I live by my calendar so this is a big problem for me. My Droid has this function.. I don't understand why Google would leave this out. I guess there's always 3rd party apps.

Android :: Opening Calendar Event From Froyo

Jul 13, 2010

I have written an application (not an usual application but a liveFolder) that get all calendars and for each calendar get all events in next few days. (The application is liveCalendar on market) Selecting un even, the eventInfo activity is displayed given the oppurtunity to the user to change or delete the event.

All work well in android < 2.1 but in 2.2 aftter retrieved an event item the event info are partially displayed correctly. More precisely, the title is well displayed (this mean that title is correcty loaded) but the data of event is always 01/01/1970 I konw the the uri is changed from Ecalir to Froyo and I have used the new URI for Froyo, infact the URI used to load event is content://com.android.calendar/events/32

Nexus :: Froyo 2.2 Hotspot Tethering

Jul 6, 2010

Has anyone else notice the slow tethering speed on Froyo (FRF91)?I ran speedtest on 3 devices while tethering is turned. Here are the result:Nexus One (the tethering host device): 2Mbit/s down, 600Kbit up.My laptop on WIN 7 (connect to the hotspot): 200Kbit/s D, 600Kbit up Ipad (connected to the hotspot): 400Kb down, 600Kb up.The slow speed really annoys me. Even youtube is not watchable at the lowest quality setting. However, the upload speed is actually stay unaffected in all 3 situations, which made me think somehow the speed is controlled by Froyo.

HTC Incredible :: Edit Existing Calendar Appointment In Froyo 2.2

Sep 15, 2010

How do you edit an existing calendar appointment in Froyo 2.2? For instance, to change a location, time, or subject matter?

In 2.1, you could bring up the appointment, hit menu, and select edit appointment. I do not see that option in 2.2, and when I need to change an appointment, I end up having to delete it and inputting a completely new appointment. Not really a big deal, but if a meeting time changes, it would be a lot easier to just change the time instead of creating a whole new appointment and deleting the original...

HTC Desire :: Strange Calendar Behaviour Since Froyo Update

Aug 11, 2010

I downloaded the update yesterday evening, and today I've noticed something pretty weird in my calendar. On the phone (HTC Desire) every day is stuffed full of dozens of repeating appointments, mainly birthdays. These are set to recur not just on the day they should be on, but on every day of the year. These appointments are only on the phone calendar, not on my online Google calendar. What is even more bizarre is that these repeating events come from my old Palm OS device. I don't ever remember importing them to the phone!

It makes no difference whether I use the phone's built-in calendar or Jorte (which is what I usually use). Forcing the phone and google to sync makes no difference either.

Does anyone know what's going on here? The calendar on the phone is now effectively unusable.

I've only tested email notifications and app updates.

Nexus : Unable To Use Quick Rooter On Froyo

Jun 6, 2010

i started with a stock N1 running unrooted froyo, then i unlocked the bootloader using the command "fastboot-windows oem unlock". i know that it is in fact unlocked because i see the open lock icon when the phone starts up now and i also see the **UNLOCKED** text in the bootloader menu. now I'm trying to use cyanogen's quick rooter (stock kernel) from here: Quick rooter for stock FroYo systems + 2.6.34 kernel - xda-developers. renamed it to update.zip (made sure it's not update.zip.zip), copied it to sdcard and I'm flashing it the same way i did the froyo update from the recovery menu but I'm getting an error saying signature verification failed. why would i still be getting this message after unlocking the bootloader?

2. Calendar not syncing with google. I have different calendars set up in my google calendar (bills, birthdays, etc). I have about 5 calendars with different settings, and only a few sync. I went into settings on the phone, and all are checked to sync.

3. Text message alerts. Notification by icon in notification bar and sound is sporadic, and a lot of times I have new messages with no indication.

Nexus :: Worth Root And / Or Custom ROM If Running Froyo Already?

Sep 7, 2010

I'm a Nexus One user so already using froyo and of course stoked with it.Given that the phone is already superfast and tethering works, is there any real benefit to root, and / or custom ROMs?Previous to froyo the main motivation for custom rom would have been tethering but thats now moot. I am happy with stock android UI and wouldn't bother for just ui tweaks. I am interested however in possibility of getting better battery life, but am leery of losing the comfortable convenience of OTA stock updates. One of the reasons I picked an N1 at the time was that I knew I'd be getting 2.1 and 2.2 before any other model also side question, when you go custom rom and do a backup before flashing, does restoring the backup literally restore everything (apps, data, settings etc.) completely? i.e. everything remains in exactly the right place, your apps are all 100% intact, gmail/contacts/exchange/sms etc. all there etc.
