Sep 23, 2010i understand a lot of you are busy trying to fix this mess that is the OTA. I for one want to thank all of you that have put in your personal time and hard work to do for this community the things you have done. I also understand you have told everyone that when you do this stuff with your phone there is a risk. That being said what is the best way to go from 2.3.9 to 2.3.15 and stay rooted. I am currently running flyx on my phone as well that i love and i have a black status bar as well not sure if this makes a difference. Thank you for your help.

I'm just going crazy reading a new thread every 5 minutes of someone discovering a new issue with their X after installing a leaked and of course UNOFFICIAL build of Froyo. I mean you've already been warned of the potential problems and risks you might face with installing the leaked build; so why take the chance of potentially bricking your phone? Either way, maybe the mods can create a separate Froyo sub-forum for the time being, until we finally see an official release.

It doesn't seem to be working properly.
Could it be because I'm on version 2.2?

Aug 26, 2010I was trying deodexing manually and ran into big problems, now in bootloop. I want to just custom recovery restore to the deodexed ROM here (Droid X 2.2 Froyo Deodexed and Ready For Themes) but cannot because I get the following error every time I try to restore a backup from custom recovery: "e:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 device or resource busy.I think I found out that it is because this Koush recovery is the original 2.1 version, so I need the 2.2 one.Two things:-Where do I get this 2.2 newer version? Jul 1, 2010I tried running the ported HTC music app from xda yesterday on my BB v4 and got FC's. I'd love to have this on my phone since it plays genre's. Anybody have any success with this or have an updated version ready for froyo? Also, is there a way to get the CyanogenMod volume up/down music controls when the screen is off onto BB v4? It's really the only thing that I miss. I don't know the "rules" of ROM's sharing, etc. certain scripts or whatever.

Jun 8, 2010Picked up a Milestone today, firmware is 2.1 update 1, build number shols_u2_02.31.0. I just wanna check I've got an official firmware version on board and not a rooted version, so I can get the official updates when released. Anyone know how to check the details?

Apr 26, 2010I don't know why, but in Eclair, the default (non-fancy) gallery app changed its behavior from the Cupcake version, and it broke one of my commercial applications Firstly, when long-pressing a gallery and choosing "Diashow", it does not publish an Intent to be picked up by any application that implements the Intent filter anymore. Instead, it will directly call "com.android.gallery/com.android.camera.ViewImage" with extras. Question: is it still possible to intercept this intent and allow the user to choose my application to do the Diashow? Secondly, the intent extras for the VIEW intent are messed up (in my build of 2.1 anyway): Instead of providing the BucketId of the picture in the Intent's query parameter. But in 2.1, the BucketId is moved to the Intent's extras. Except; it is not passing the BUCKET_ID, but the unlocalized BUCKET_DISPLAY_NAME instead Question: how can I still get the unique BUCKET_ID from the intent, so that I do not have to work with a potentially non-unique BUCKET_DISPLAY_NAME.

May 3, 2010Did you guys notice how the speaker on the Milestone/Droid gets dirty, it's like a magnet for dust and lint, and once it's in there, it won't come out.I just found a little trick to clean it out:
1- Just grab a little amout of "fun-tak" or any other sticky putty.
2- Push it into the speaker hole, and the dust will come out with it when you remove it.
3- Rince and repeat
I was so glad to finally get it clean, that I had to share it.

HTC Incredible :: No More Grounding Flaw With Leaked Froyo ROM
Jul 28, 2010I just realized that for the past 30 minutes or so, I had my phone sitting on my comforter while I was tweaking it after installing the leaked Froyo ROM, and it was working!
Before I installed this ROM, my phone would NEVER work while sitting on my comforter without touching a finger to the side (the whole grounding issue).
It sure seems as if this update contained a fix for the grounding issue (like the EVO had a while back IIRC).
