HTC Incredible :: Leaked Froyo And Data ?
Aug 3, 2010My data seems to go down often and I have to reboot the phone to get my "3G" back on my device. Has anyone had this issue? Is there a fix?

HTC Incredible :: No More Grounding Flaw With Leaked Froyo ROM
Jul 28, 2010I just realized that for the past 30 minutes or so, I had my phone sitting on my comforter while I was tweaking it after installing the leaked Froyo ROM, and it was working!
Before I installed this ROM, my phone would NEVER work while sitting on my comforter without touching a finger to the side (the whole grounding issue).
It sure seems as if this update contained a fix for the grounding issue (like the EVO had a while back IIRC).

HTC Incredible :: System Panel On Leaked Froyo Rom / Solution For This?
Jul 28, 2010I anyone else noticing issues with System Panel on the leaked Froyo Rom? I assume 2.2 handles memory in a different way, and System Panel doesn't read it correctly. It shows all of my apps running without anything being cached. Also, the CPU clock seems to be running at 700MHz or more constantly instead of coming down to ~300 or so like it showed on 2.1. However the CPU graph on the top left does come down like normal.

Sep 23, 2010i understand a lot of you are busy trying to fix this mess that is the OTA. I for one want to thank all of you that have put in your personal time and hard work to do for this community the things you have done. I also understand you have told everyone that when you do this stuff with your phone there is a risk. That being said what is the best way to go from 2.3.9 to 2.3.15 and stay rooted. I am currently running flyx on my phone as well that i love and i have a black status bar as well not sure if this makes a difference. Thank you for your help.

I mean you've already been warned of the potential problems and risks you might face with installing the leaked build; so why take the chance of potentially bricking your phone? Either way, maybe the mods can create a separate Froyo sub-forum for the time being, until we finally see an official release.

Nov 28, 2010One thing that I really like about the phone is the ability to play music from my phone to my car stereo via Bluetooth because it has the A2DP. No wires and I can control the music ON the deck itself instead of the phone. I've updated the phone with the leaked froyo about 2 days after it was leaked. I noticed that I couldn't play music from my phone to my car stereo anymore via bluetooth. I am able to take calls fine via bluetooth while I am driving, it just won't play any music.

We have been sent what is believed to be the Android roadmap for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 family. It is in German and originates from last week's IFA show in Berlin. We can't verify whether it is real or not, but it appears legit to us. The roadmap highlights three major firmware releases: Android 1.6x, Android 2.1 and Android 2.1x. It shows that the Android 2.1 update for the Xperia X10 will get 720p video recording with continuous autofocus. HTML5 will also be adopted along with 5 homescreens and a social phonebook (facebook/twitter integration with your contacts). The document also points to a revised menu.
For the X10 mini, X10 mini pro and X8 the 2.1 update will bring with it a slight change in the four-corner navigation along with Bluetooth 2.1. These mobiles will also get the social phonebook and HTML5 adoption. Following this, there will then be the Android 2.1x update that will bring Sony Ericsson's revamped UX platform to Timescape and Mediascape along with more languages. Unfortunately, the roadmap for all handsets stops at 2.1x so I wonder whether we'll ever see Android 2.2 (Froyo) on the X10."
Update: According to forum member steinii1488 of se-world.info the Android 2.1 update is expected in October/November (this could be a regional thing as SE UK have promised an update by the end of Q3). He goes on to say that the Android 2.1x update will fall in December 2010/January 2011. This means that if SE is planning a Froyo update for the Xperia X10, it won't fall in 2010.

HTC Incredible :: No Data Service After Froyo
Aug 31, 2010I updated to Froyo this morning.I noticed I wasn't getting any data service on my phone so I ran the *228 thing. Phone rebooted and problem was solved.Sort off.I turned the phone off at lunch 'cuz I wanted to see the awesome boot animation. When the phone turned back on, there was no data service. I've now found that if I do the *228 thing it fixes the problem, but only until I reboot again. I've gone into the wireless and network settings and Mobile Network is checked and stuck at turning on. Do I need to do a factory reset to fix this? I've got a back up with My Backup Pro so it's not a huge deal if I do.

Aug 29, 2010Can anyone on a leaked install verify if WMA files are not working in the stock music player? I could have sworn they were working before I did the install, but now they're not working. Weird thing too is that winamp is also not seeing them, but the files are definitely there when I view the folders in Explorer. I don't know if anyone can shed some light on that too. Last I knew, the Inc supported WMA's, correct?

Jul 16, 2010Please note that this can and will void your warranty and while no ill effects have been suffered, I nor this forum can be held responsible with what you decide to do with your phone. Use at your own risk! Warning! Under no circumstance should you reapply this patch over itself. I have seen two phones die over this. Dead as in, no power, no charge, do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars. Go directly to jail! I also recommend that you Do Not accept any official OTA while running this leak. It could lead to the same end result. Instead, its best you root, downgrade the HBOOT, and reflash with an RUU. First of all, make sure you are not rooted. So this means you will need to use an RUU (ROM Update utility) to revert your phone back to stock. You can get it from here:

Run through the RUU. If you run into trouble with usb connection errors, or other troubles, you can try these suggestions. Having troubles with the RUU giving connection errors? Do this.
Go to start, and in the search/run box, type

Delete all that you can. Make sure the RUU is not running in the background. Now run the RUU again. Once it starts to the first screen, it has extracted the files to the temp directory. You can then copy them to a safe place. It will be a long winded numbered folder, with a similar subfolder. Once you have copied it to a safe place, you can then copy adb.exe, fastboot.exe, and adbwinapi.dll from the latest SDK into it, overwriting the older copies. Then start the RUU by executing ARUWizard.exe. This fixed the problem for me.
Otherwise, you can also use the extracted files to create an image that HBOOT can load. Search for rom.zip in those files and rename it to PB31IMG.zip and put it on your sdcard. Turn off your phone and then hold DOWN volume and power to get into the HBOOT screen. Let it scan through the files and when it asks to run update, say yes and let it do its thing. It will reboot at least once during update. Once you are back to stock, you can now provide the leaked update. MD5 hash is 68518f450fd4b15c696441f5f93deff4. Link can be found here:

Copy this zip file to your sdcard, renaming it to update.zip. Now power down your phone. Hold DOWN volume and power to get to HBOOT. It will do its scanning thing. If you still have the RUU on there, say NO to updating and NO to rebooting. Once you get to the menu with fastboot, recovery, etc. choose Recovery. This will boot you to the stock recovery with an image with an! Hold UP volume and hit power. This will take you into the recovery menu. Choose apply update.zip, navigating with volume keys and hit the power button. Let it do its thing. It will then say reboot to finish. Navigate to reboot and hit the power button. Let it finish. It will reboot several times during the update.
That's the easy part of installing it. You can also root it with unrevoked tools (3.1 is the latest). Having Market Issues?

HTC Incredible :: Why Uninstalling Leaked OTA Update?
Jul 26, 2010When the official OTA update hits it will possibly include froyo but there is also a chance (maybe 50/50) that it will lock us out of root. If it doesn't this post is a moot point. Now you can't get a rom with the leaked update because of the change in radio performed to the phone, but you could always get a rom with just stock froyo (w/sense) ripped from it.
Meaning: If the update closes the "hole" to root, you will have to revert to stock, install the leaked ota update, than install the stock froyo rom after someone rips it for us. So just a heads up for those that have the leaked update, just sit tight and see what the future holds before you uninstall something you may need.

Jul 31, 2010I am wanting to know, in preparation for the 2.2 release to the Incredible, just what steps I will need to take to be able to get the OTA just like normal. I don't use root for much of anything. I am not overclocked, ShootMe is probably the only app I actually use regularly and the leaked 2.2 is way too buggy for me to keep on the phone. I currently have the updated radio via the leaked 2.1 OTA and my phone is rooted. I assume that I can't just apply the 2.2 OTA, but I am wonder how far I will need to revert. I'd like to lose as little data as possible from my phone, am I just SoL?
