Has anybody found a way to unlock the Droid other than the lock key or opening the keyboard? I wish there was some gesture or button combo to unlock it.I believe its actually a touchscreen lock so i doubt there is any other way.

The lock screen on my D2 will not unlock. It just began doing this out of nowhere. Obviously, I can't even use my phone.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAnyone notice that the unlock/ lock button on top of the phone seems to go deeper in? meaning its not as tight/ it works still but doesn't seem the same as when i got it first? im afraid that it will stop working at one point. i am past the 30 day and would have to get a certified like new. i called tech support and they said they have no replacement phones in their warehouse currently and i would have to call back maybe tomorrow.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my blackberry and all previous phones, I was able to customize a text banner, and I'm not finding a way to do it on my Motorola Droid. I usually put my email address on the lock/unlock screen so that if some honest person was to find my phone, they could email me to let me know they found it. Otherwise, it would just be lost. I know that there are theme apps that I can install, and I'm not sure if they have that capability, but if anything, I'd prefer not to have to download any apps to do this. I've also thought about creating a wallpaper that has that information in it, and setting that as my wallpaper. It seems like too much work.

I now hear a simple clicking sound. Does anyone now how the change these 2 sounds, I have a few mechanical sounds that would compliment the Droid theme. View 15 Replies View RelatedI never use my physical keyboard. I would like a slim case to protect my phone and i don't care if the KB doesn't slide out at all. i would actually prefer it stay closed. Hard plastic or a soft silicone is ok with me. i have the soft rubber case around my work BB and it works perfect. I would love something like that for my droid. And i want one that doesn't raise too much over the screen. a coworker has a hard case for his iphone and it makes it hard to hit the touch screen on the borders. the case sits so high you have to put your finger or thumb almost verticle to touch the on screen keyboard.
View 28 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with my phone. Most of the time my lock screen is focused on screen 4 (I use 5 screens) instead of on whatever screen I go to when unlocked. Does anybody else have this problem? I'm using Launcherpro if that makes a difference.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to unlock my phone so I can turn off the stream I am listening to in the app StreamFurious Pro but I can not. When I tap the red button right of the track ball, the lock screen comes up, but then when I swipe down it only slides part of the way and then starts to shimmy or bounce up and down. I can see the browser window I last had open below it, but I cant get to anything because the lock won't slide all the way down. Even when that grey bar does get all the way gone, it bounces back a second later.
The menu button does not respond. If I hit the red button again to send it to sleep, it does. Letting it sit does not help. When I hit the red button again, it either shows the grey bar you grab still bouncing, or the lock screen again, but the same thing then happens. I have had streamFurious Pro for awhile and never had this issue. I have not added any new apps since yesterday AM and used my phone just fine between then and now.
My phone unlocked in my pocket I have a droid eris btw. I also have the lockpattern where you connect he dots set up.
In my pocket it did the wrong lock pattern five times and now it is asking me to put my email and password in to unlock it. The problEm is that the keyboard does not come up even when I hold menu.
I tried it and it works so far.

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'

- Added option to disable notification icon

Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.

I have a Droid X running Froyo. It's rooted. I really want to organize all my apps into folders but lately different folders have been refusing to open. I click on them and they just don't open. Sometimes it's all of them and sometimes it's just one. If I restart it usually fixes the problem but sometimes I just have to wait for a bit. This is very annoying. I'm not using an alternative launcher or anything. Just the regular Motorola Droid X OS. Just rooted. Any ideas guys? Please let me know. I really want to get things organized again.

View 12 Replies View RelatedNew Milestone, Droid, not opening after first charging. So I bought my Milestone today, after I played a while with it I plugged the charger and after a while a white light appeared near plug (I don't know if is normal or not ) and now I can not open the mobile any more.
I even pulled out the battery, but the same result.
I was trying to open the Messaging app by tapping the green talking bubble icon labeled "Messaging," and repeatedly, as in 5-6 times, it loaded the Gmail app instead. I rebooted my phone and now it's working.

View 45 Replies View RelatedDroid X gmail app: it used to go straight to my gmail INBOX whenever I selected the 'Gmail' app, but now whenever I have a Gmail notification and select the 'Gmail' app it goes to my account list and I have to select my Gmail account to get to the inbox even though I only have 1 account. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to make it go straight to the Inbox instead of the account list every time I select the Gmail app?

Whenever I do, it causes the web browser to automatically open and start playing an annoying "helpful video" from the Verizon site. Does anyone know how to make it stop loading? Obviously I can close it out, but it is really annoying. I have root, so I can access the internal memory and delete the offending file. I just don't know which one to remove.

The blackberry therefore knew when it was in the case and when it wasn't. I'd make the Blackberry lock as soon as I put it in the case. Is there a way to do this same functionality for a droid?
