For some reason, my camera app won't open half the time. It will just go black for a second, then back to my home screen. Sometimes it works though, but that is less often.

When I use my camera, camcorder, or just open up picture gallery or vid my phone will just restart, no clue why. I told tmobile that and she said it could be my SIM so I get a new one and that doesn't help. I'm about ready to call them and get a new one through my warranty.

Thats why i came up with an idea which will allow you to take photos from your homescreen / anywhere with one of the hardware buttons without opening the camera app first.
Is this something you can achieve with the app tasker?

I see a ton of results when searching for how to open the camera, and get the returned image. What about simply opening the camera app without any return at all? I just want the camera to function as normal.

I have tested the app on the device on 2.1. The error i got from the user is using nexus one which will mostly run 2.2...Here's the logcat error that i received...

I ran the app on 2.2 emulator also to check it. But it worked fine. can anyone please tell me why the error is occuring?

I have a Droid X running Froyo. It's rooted. I really want to organize all my apps into folders but lately different folders have been refusing to open. I click on them and they just don't open. Sometimes it's all of them and sometimes it's just one. If I restart it usually fixes the problem but sometimes I just have to wait for a bit. This is very annoying. I'm not using an alternative launcher or anything. Just the regular Motorola Droid X OS. Just rooted. Any ideas guys? Please let me know. I really want to get things organized again.

I even pulled out the battery, but the same result.
I was trying to open the Messaging app by tapping the green talking bubble icon labeled "Messaging," and repeatedly, as in 5-6 times, it loaded the Gmail app instead. I rebooted my phone and now it's working.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDroid X gmail app: it used to go straight to my gmail INBOX whenever I selected the 'Gmail' app, but now whenever I have a Gmail notification and select the 'Gmail' app it goes to my account list and I have to select my Gmail account to get to the inbox even though I only have 1 account. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to make it go straight to the Inbox instead of the account list every time I select the Gmail app?

Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. Whenever I do, it causes the web browser to automatically open and start playing an annoying "helpful video" from the Verizon site. Does anyone know how to make it stop loading? Obviously I can close it out, but it is really annoying. I have root, so I can access the internal memory and delete the offending file. I just don't know which one to remove.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

My camera is stuck in the Negative Mode setting. I can't swipe from the left to pull out the camera options and the menu softkey doesn't bring up anything either.
I didn't notice this till about after a week or so using LFYv1.71. However, it seems that I am the only one using that ROM that's experienced this prob. Truth is, it could have been like that a while. I have a great 15mp camera, so I rarely need to use the mediocre-at-best 5mp camera on the Droid. But when I wanted to take a pic without the good one at my disposal, I found my prob.
While I'm searching for a fix to this it made me wonder, "Are there replacement camera apps, much like there are for the browser and messaging apps?" Well, of course there are. Many, in fact. Most seem to be paid apps, but if it's a truly better option, just might be worth it.
So what camera apps are you guys using, or could you recommend one?
So the default camera resolution is 6 MP and it says "widscreen." I know that 8 MP is "large screen" but what takes higher quality photos? I've heard lower MP doesn't always mean worse photos.

Yesterday, my droid x started randomly opening the camera application without anyone or anything even touching the phone. It's maddeningly frustrating. It wakes the phone up when the screen is off, which kills the battery faster, it randomly pops up when I'm web browsing or writing a text. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, was there a fix other than taking the phone back to verizon? I haven't gotten the phone wet or dropped it or anything.
[Droid X 2.2 No Root] For some reason sometimes when I'm using the camera or when I try to launch the camera, It fails. For example, I try to open a black screen flashes or the camera opens for a moment and closes. Sometimes it works, others it refuses to even after all running apps are closed, the phone restarted, and after a battery pull. This is not a shutter stick problem.

At first it worked fine, just seemed a bit laggy, then allof a sudden the phone would restart wheni would open the camera app. Now the camera app just shows a blackscreen.
