I have had Google voice for a while now. And yesterday I added a line into my plan and got the Droid. I downloaded Google voice app and everytime I try to place a call it tells me I am unable to make the call. I did set my new number as the phone being used. Any suggestions? Or is there something up with Google voice?

I can't make calls using google voice. What happens is I will dial a number and press send, then something will pop up asking me if I want to make the call with GV or without GV. I choose WITH GV and it will start out okay, but after 5 seconds it goes back to the normal call screen and calls regularly with out GV. Is there anyone who can help me out with this? I have a droid eris.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.
Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)
I'm running Cyanogenmod 6. I just noticed that I can't find Google voice or Google maps in the market. I do have the apps installed, but can't see them int he market to get updates. I tried out LFY1.7 and Ultimate Droid 1.0.0, and see the same issue.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI haven't used my google voice number for much more than calling but recently I have used it for texting and cannot figure out how to send pictures.The only way I have seen to add them is through the email that the text generates but it won't allow me to choose a picture it says choose one but none are available and the "pick" button does not work.any suggestions?.BTW running the newest bugless beast and also had the problem on the newest smoked glass ROM.

(as displayed in long list of fixes/improvements.) I definitely encourage any old Leak V2 users to upgrade that want the latest Google Voice!

From fast few days when 3G interenet is ON then I am not able to make calls.When I turned off 3G then it works fine.I have also reinstalled the software but still problem persists. This works when I am not answering the phone and I the caller gets connected to my GV account. But when my phone is not in coverage the caller gets my version voice mail. Appreciate if someone can correct my settings or suggest any app that does it. I am from Windows mobile world and missing those settings when you can define several settings for voice mail (unanswered, rejected, unavailable etc...)

View 1 Replies View Relatedi put my phone into airplane mode and wake it up when i do ,halfway through the day yesterday i tried to make a call ,the display said i was making a call ,but there was no sound from the earpiece no matter what i did.i hung up and tried again a few times ,same thing.Display showed full reception. I rebooted the phone and it worked as normal ,this has happened twice now,is it a hangover from airplane mode or something else ? ,anyone had the same thing happen?.

When I go to GV settings the only options it has are never use GV, ask every time I place an international call, or use GV for international calls only. Never a mention of using GV for domestic calls. Anyone know why? Currently using Droid with 2.0.1.

My mom called me like 25 times asking me to look up something, when I FINALLY got the call on the house phone I was able to look it up in maps but unable to call her back at all (was using wifi). My EVDO data services work fine but theres not voice AT ALL. I tried calling my number from like 5 phones nothing, I also reset it turned off the cellular radio and turned it back on nothing. Now for some reason the only time I can receive calls and make calls is when I have it set to 1xRTT only....Idk wtf going on but the one time I needed to use the PHONE on my handset it decided to not work....I had like 3 people try and call me and nothing not very convent.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to make a call and my Droid was off. I had checked email on it about two hours prior and had 80% battery life. When I got home I plugged it into the charger and nothing. Hit the power button, still nothing. Finally took out the battery and put it back in while still on the charger and finally it turned back on, with about the same battery life it had when I checked my email.
Then I tried to make a phone call and it simply would not make the call. I killed all tasks and tried again with no luck. Then the same text came through eight times. I turned the phone off and on again and the problem persisted. Finally about a half an hour later after leaving the phone alone, it seemed to be working fine. Made calls, texts, etc with no problems. An hour after that the phone shut off again. I had to take out the battery and put it back in again, and after about ten minutes it was working normally. This was about an hour ago.
