My droid X has been sucking down juice something crazy. Looked at the batter manager and saw that 42% of my batter had been eated by voice calls according to battery manager. Anyone else noticing this? Im suspecting I have a dud because my wife was on her X all day with it on vibrate and hers still lasted longer than mine.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I'm on my #3 Captivate now.. and I need to get some other people's experience on these items. First off, my #1 Captivate would get hot while on voice call (lets say 15min), the #2 phone would NOT get hot even after a 30min call. The #2 phone also had the longest lasting battery of the 3 as well. But the phone could not see ANY satellites so back it went. #3 phone - I'm not having the best experience with - I downloaded the BatStat widget to monitor temp and battery percentage.. So I dialed my wife's phone with the battery at 35%, and temp at 36 degrees Am I in the same boat as others with these two issues combined? I will most likely return the phone again tomorrow.

I downloaded Google voice app and everytime I try to place a call it tells me I am unable to make the call. I did set my new number as the phone being used. Any suggestions? View 9 Replies View RelatedI have really enjoyed everything about the Droid in the 5 days I've had it, except call quality. I switched from an iPhone 3G and the droid can do everything my iPhone could and more, and then I placed a phone call.
My phone was updated to 2.0.1 right at the Verizon store. I left, made a call, and am now regretting leaving my iPhone. I get horrible choppiness, static, and muffled voice on my end. On the other end everyone I call can hear me great. I have tried the *228 options 1 and 2, changing to evrc-b(or whatever it was called) and 13k, privacy off, basically every setting i could find.
Went to the Verizon store, the saleswoman said it was normal and that all phones do that. I laughed, said I was gonna quit this "awesome network" and go back to "crap" AT&T, then they exchanged the phone no problem. Of course this fixed nothing and here I am making phone calls and repeating, "what did you say?" until I can make out some words.
Don't get me wrong, I like Verizon and I've had them before and I never had any issues with call quality, which brings me to believe it's strictly the phone. I may have gotten the occasional dropped call on the iPhone(once a week at most) but at least my calls were all clear.
I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced this issue. It doesn't happen all of the time, and I can't seem to reproduce it. It only started recently - within the last few days.
On some calls, after talking for a minute or so, the person on the other end will just not be able to hear me anymore. The call is still connected, and I can hear them just fine, but I end up having to disconnect and call them back due to the strange muting problem.
Anyone else experience this lately? I haven't installed any new apps recently - minus updates - so I'm not sure it's an app conflict. Just trying to pinpoint the issue and see if I'm the only one.
I'm as just at 30% battery after 10-11 hours of use and made an 8 minute call, first of the day, and suddenly it was down to 20% and said voice calls had been 25% of my battery for the day. what is going on?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.
Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)
Compared to say Verizon's voice mail is there any lag between the call and voice mail notification when using Google Voice?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst off I've got to say the 2.1 upgrade really improved my phone's speed and completely fixed the dialer lag I used to have. I'm very satisfied. My only issues are 2 small problems: 1. My ring tone (same as before upgrade) fades if I pick up the phone to answer it....if I leave the phone on the counter it plays normally. 2. Where is the "send call to voice mail" option? I don't get that option anymore when saving a call to contacts.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI changed the voice mail number from *86 (version default) to my Google voice number. This works when I am not answering the phone and I the caller gets connected to my GV account. But when my phone is not in coverage the caller gets my version voice mail. Appreciate if someone can correct my settings or suggest any app that does it. I am from Windows mobile world and missing those settings when you can define several settings for voice mail (unanswered, rejected, unavailable etc...)

What happens is I will dial a number and press send, then something will pop up asking me if I want to make the call with GV or without GV. I choose WITH GV and it will start out okay, but after 5 seconds it goes back to the normal call screen and calls regularly with out GV. Is there anyone who can help me out with this? I have a droid eris.

(as displayed in long list of fixes/improvements.) I definitely encourage any old Leak V2 users to upgrade that want the latest Google Voice!

This is very annoying and I can't seem to figure out how to turn it off. Changing ring tones and such does not work, still says "Verizon Wireless". Is there anyway to turn this off?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't remember my DroidX always doing this, but recently after I hang-up from a call it shows the "Call Time XX:XX" in the center of the screen and I can't do anything until it goes away, which is generally 5-8 seconds. Hitting Home, Back, etc does nothing and tapping on the screen or the message also does nothing.Is this a setting I can disable? I can look at the recent calls to get the length of call if I need to see it, so I don't need the dramatic pause to give me this info.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI returned the Moto Droid on day 29 because it was bulky, I worried about the slider mechanism (and barely ever used the physical keyboard), and because I was very envious of the Sense UI on the Eris. The biggest thing was that when I had to turn the phone off or the couple of times I had to do a battery pull, it took 5-10 minutes before the phone would let me make a call. I have been pretty happy with the Eris as I love the physical buttons and the trackball and Sense UI and the form factor. But looking over the Droid threads on various forums, I do miss the beautiful screen and the quickness of the browser and changing between screens. I was a bit pissed that the software updates were after the exchange period for people who bought the phones when they came out. It really doesnt matter I suppose as I am not able to exchange this phone out for anything else. I understand why Verizon doesnt let you exchange repeatedly but its so hard to know how well a phone will do for you until you use it for a while. Full price is always an option if a higher-end HTC comes out but my husband wouldnt be too thrilled with that I think.

How do you selectly delete numbers in your call log? All I can find is delete all. You would think someone would look at how a BB works and understand you don't always want to delete all your calls.
Is there a way to delete some of your call log and not all of it?
Not sure if there is a thread for this but after I end a call the screen goes to my call log. is there a way to disable that so it goes back to my home screen?
