Jan 23, 2010I have several contacts in my phone where I have multiple phone numbers but the location does not always match up with Google choices (MOBILE, WORK, HOME etc) Or in the case of a store like Costco, a different number for each department - Main, Pizza, Pharmacy etc. On my Palm I just used to put initials next to the number to remind me which was which, but that does not work on the Droid - it would not call the number with extra letters. Other than putting the information in my notes, has anyone found a work around? Ideally, I would like to change the words, WORK, HOME, MOBILE, etc to better reflect the ownership and location of that particular number. But that seems highly unlikely since it's connected to Google Contacts. Just wondering how others handle multiple numbers besides a totally different entry, or by adding the info in notes.

Aug 7, 2010Under each contact person it gives the chance to enter numerous numbers (i.e. home, mobile, work). then when u go to that person it gives a ton of options. For example if work, home and mobile are all listed it will give the option to call all 3 numbers and send message to all 3 numbers. Obviously I can't send message to work or home numbers. So....my questions is can I somehow delete the options to send message to home and work numbers? That way the the only options listed are: call home, call work, call mobile and message mobile. Also I did it once and forget how...but how can I change which number is the primary one on a person's contact list?

Sep 8, 2010Since I got the original 2.2 update for my Droid, whenever I get a new text message and slide down the notification bar and select the new message, it takes me to the main text message window rather than the actual thread to reply to the person. It is really annoying because it requires an extra step. I figured it would be fixed with the second 2.2 update but it didn't. I called Verizon and they called Motorola and nobody knew of the problem so they shipped me out a new phone and it still does it! I am not sure if I am the only one experiencing this or if its normal. It doesn't do it 100% of the time but closer to 90% probably.

My problem is like in 1.5 and 1.6 devices, we can add a key to a contact with the Contacts.People.Extensions class. But now there is a problem with this content provider.. It's unknown by new devices. And it's the only provider who does not work. Does someone know why is it not working anymore ? You can clearly see in the commercial someone clicking on a person from the HTC people widget. However, after they click the person it brings up the person's information, as opposed to performing the default action specified for the contact. From my tinkering with this widget, it seems that you cannot actually perform the action they show in the commercial.

Nov 29, 2009I'm used to my contacts being under a contacts setting/button/tangible thing. I had my contacts transferred into Google Contacts, which now sync to my phone. Is there a special way to have contacts actually on your SD card? Or do i just need to keep google sync on. I tried turning it off for battery purposes, but then all my contacts went away. I've set up HTC People, but I still don't know how to like just view my contacts, or quickly add a new person. 1.) As normally the database stored in internal memory, can we specify the path of external storage and use it in similar way ?
2.) How to determine the size of available space of database ? I used getMaximumSize() from SQLIteDatabase class but that gives me 1099511626752
Is this in bytes ? If assumed then this seems to be too large and not practical. I am using HTC G1 to test this.
3.) How can I determine the size of an entry in table ? Or do I have to pull the whole table and manually see its size. Is it same that would be in phone storage ?
4.) Can I check if any free space available before making entry in database ? I want to prevent SQLiteFullException.
Motorola Droid :: Why To Change From 1x To 3x So Often?
Dec 29, 2009I have a few questions and have decided to put them all in one post instead of three
1. Almost every call I make or receive from a sprint customer is dropped, is there a reason for this, my freinds with sprint say that only calls to me are dropped.
2. After closing the navi***tion app, and/or closing the task it still apears as using up to 40% of my battery. How do I completly close it.
3. Why do I change from 1x to 3x so often? And why even when I have 3x can I sometimes not load pages or timeout?
4. Why does the power managment widget sometimes not do anything (only on my replacment droid)
5. Why is the phone app so bad. Its very slow and deffinatly not built fro someone who needs to call fast (like in an emergancy) will there be updates for it or is there a 3rd party app for it.
6. I am typing this from my phone and noticed that my typing is fasteer then the input in the text area, it seems to lag input while typing, is that a possible browser issue?
7. Haptic feedback is inconsistant, sometimes it is long vibration sometimes it its short, sometimes it is double. Also feels like parts are loose when it vibrates, like hardware is vibrating/loose. Where are the settings for feedback?
