View 2 RepliesI want to be able to record a quick vid of my little girl and email it to her grandma from the phone. Problem is it records in 3GP and so far have not found an easy way to get her computer (3000 miles away) to play these files.
So I guess I am looking for 1 of 3 things.
1. Way to record in some thing else. (AVI, MP3/4 etc.)
2. Way to convert it simply on the phone to a compatible type.
3. A way to send a file to Grandma that is pretty much click here and run this app.
I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a way for me to record my own ring tone either through the phone or through an application? I'd like to be able to record my son saying something.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSay, we have a table created as:
create table notes (_id integer primary key autoincrement, created_date date)
To insert a record, I'd use
ContentValues initialValues = new ContentValues();
initialValues.put("date_created", "");
long rowId = mDb.insert(DATABASE_TABLE, null, initialValues);
But how to set the date_created column to "now"? To make it clear, the
initialValues.put("date_created", "datetime('now')");
Is not the right solution. It just sets the column to "datetime('now')" text.
I try to increase the value of an integer key in a row in my table. However, nothing really seems to happen.
db.rawQuery("UPDATE table SET key = key + 1 WHERE name=?", new String[] {name});
However, this code works fine (just sets the key to a hard-coded value):
ContentValues values = new ContentValues();
values.put("key", 2);
db.update("table", values, "name=?", new String[] {name});
Also tried '?' instead of just ?, but it resulted just in a run-time error.
I need to launch a service running in the background,that should record what's on the current screen for say about 10 sec.. i should able to save it in a file or on any storage device and later i should able to retrieve it also..

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday i tried to do something that i used to do back in my Alias 2 days (regular cellphone), but couldn't.
Can i record a simple voice message and send it via MMS? It was pretty simple to do with a cell phone...
I saw that the eris comes with a voice recorder, but i recorded a message and was not able to send it.
Any ideas?
Also, when sending pictures via MMS, it always resizes them and obviously the person receiving doesn't get the same quality. I realize that sending via Gmail doesn't resize, but i send to other cell phones a lot.
I'm thinking the only fix is lowering the camera resolution? I think that lowering the resolution is still better than having it resized for the message. Has anyone tried lowering the resolution to a point that the picture does not need to be resized for MMS?
Same thing for Video messages.. can't even send them. Not sure if it's HAndcent, or the file is just to big
.3gp sounds so ghetto to me for some reason. not to mention, the 720p recording blows. the sound blows too. when will the update fix all this? i was expecting like HD quality videos coming out of 720p. whats the best way to solve this issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHas anyone (specifically students) tried using the Evo's voice recording feature to record lectures? I don't see myself doing this often but occasionally there's a need. I'm sure a dedicated recorder would do a much better job, but it'd be pretty sweet to be able use the Evo this way.

View 3 Replies View RelatedTo do this, simply download "LED Desire Light" in the market, then enable the light after install. Now press the home button and bring up the camera. Set to video and voila! You've got a nice video flashlight for night capturing. Just be sure to go back to the LED Desire Light prog to disable it after use.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to know whether its possible to record call in Android. If its possible then which class should be used for that purpose. I think there should be some message broadcast receiver invoked when a call is accepted and application should be started in background and record the conversation. Would like to know if this is actually possible and it it is then what classes to refer to?
One more thing if I want to send the recorded file to a server through GPRS then is there any limit in size for it to get transfer through GPRS? Small files will be transferred easily through GPRS but what about larger files? Is there any upper limit as to files of this much size can be transferred.
More importantly I want to know about the call recording function. Whether its available in Android phones as a native applicatoins or not? If its not available then can a application be written that can record all incoming and if possible outgoing calls as well.
