I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a way for me to record my own ring tone either through the phone or through an application? I'd like to be able to record my son saying something.

Trying to help a friend with his Droid. He downloaded a ringtone from the Verizon site and he is trying to set it up as his "RINGTONE". Can someone please walk me through this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy fiance upgraded from LG Voyager to Droid 2. She wanted her old ringtones from the Verizon Media store so she downloaded them. When she stored them they were given default names. I was able to make the appropriate ringtone associations, except for voicemail. I have 2 questions:
1. How do you set a ringtone for voicemail? When I run the standard voicemail app (Verizon) I cannot being up a menu.
2. How do I change the name of a ringtone file?
I want to use the ringtone that comes stock on the phone called "New Player" as a notification tone for text messages. Any way that I can do so?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to record a quick vid of my little girl and email it to her grandma from the phone. Problem is it records in 3GP and so far have not found an easy way to get her computer (3000 miles away) to play these files.
So I guess I am looking for 1 of 3 things.
1. Way to record in some thing else. (AVI, MP3/4 etc.)
2. Way to convert it simply on the phone to a compatible type.
3. A way to send a file to Grandma that is pretty much click here and run this app.
Is there a way to record phone calls on the Droid? Or do/can you use a market app for this? I searched "call recorder" in the market & there wasn't much and reviews were not great.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use different ringtones for as many as 12 contacts so that I know who's calling me! Once in a while when the last person that has a dedicated ringtone calls me the default phone ringer set itself to that person's ringtone. I turned off my phone took the battery off and the rebooted, the problem goes away for a awhile and before you know it happens again! It's really bothersome when you think a particular person is calling you, (because of a ringtone) you answer and it someone else.

But when I get a text, it is still active! I even deleted the soundboard. In my settings it now shows my old tone but dosent use itt for some reason.

Ps the song is "Bills make me wanna shout". yes I know its corny and yes I know the Bills are awful.

And from what I have seen so far I shoulda got the Droid when it first came out. Although a little bigger in size it is a solid feel and I love the speed. No Lag Hero was darn laggy. Anywho, I am part of the droid cult and here to stay. Can anyone tell me of any good apps to have or must have apps on this phone and what else I can do with this thing? Also is there a place I can download songs directly on the phone or on my pc to put on this bad boy? And how do I get custom ringtones etc?Is the stock sms good enough or should I go with one of the sms apps like the one that starts with an H cant think of the name right now? Is there an issue with battery life with the stock sms like there was with the Hero?

I downloaded AudioManager, and it looks like there are separate volume levels for alerts and ringer, but they seem to be linked. Right now, if I have my volume set high enough to hear incoming calls, I jump out of my seat every few minutes when I get an email or text.

I know you can use songs as ringtones but it uses the whole song and I just want the chorus. So I was playing with the media player and used it to make one of my songs the default ring tone. Now I can't figure out how to undo that. When I go into the sound settings and I try to choose a default ringtone, the whole option is greyed out. How do I get back? There's lots of posts on how to change, but can't find a way to undo
