Oct 10, 2010I'm running rubix focused .5 and its been great, I installed the camera-search-voice fix and didnt have any problems along with having full camera functionality. Eventually I decided to try the Incognito theme since it had a "blurless" version. I noticed it changed my camera icon obviously but I didnt actually open it. I decided I didnt like it, so I restored my nandroid I made immediately before putting the theme on. Next thing I notice, my camera shortcuts are the generic green apk icon. And they dont work, at all.
I nandroid restore to an even earlier back-up (from right after applying rubix) and still no camera functionality. It doesnt appear in my apps under manage applications, the blurcamera.apk is in the system folder, and I tried deleting/replacing that again, and installing it right from the apk and I get an install failed. I don't understand how I could lose my camera app when I restore to a back-up that had it working fine.
Motorola Droid X : Software Update Causes Dead Pixels For The Camera And Camcorder Applications
Jul 21, 2010My DroidX was working for the few days with no dead pixels on any of the menu screens, none on any of the software applications, and none on the Camera or Camcorder applications.
On Tuesday afternoon I downloaded and installed the DroidX 1.13.604 Software Update.
My DroidX now has some dead pixels that appear only in the Camera and Camcorder applications, and not in any of the other applications or menu items.
Since the dead pixels only occur in the Camera and Camcorder applications, could it be a software related bug or mayme something else?

Jul 3, 2010I'm a little disappointed with the Evo's camera and camcorder. It's kind of fuzzy and the sound is pretty bad. Is this a hardware issue or a software issue? Is there a hack you can do to make it better? I heard somewhere its a compression and fps issue. Please don't give me answers like "the Evo's quality is great" or "get a real camera".

Sep 1, 2010So I use my X to stream pandora/slacker and the droid media player through my ford sync bluetooth system. I am having two separate issues I am hoping someone can comment on.
The first is that pretty much every other time I try to stream music I do not get any sound. I have to reboot my phone for it to work. Everything is paired correctly and volume it turned up etc. This is my 2nd X and they both did the same thing. Happens on 2.1 and 2.2 leak
Second is that my steering wheel controls randomly work. Sometimes the music player doesn't skip sometimes it does. Also recently if I have pandora or slacker playing and I press the skip forward button on my steering wheel the droid music player starts and I get both slacker/pandora and the droid music player playing at the same time. I should also mention i am on the 2.2 leak.
Motorola Droid X :: Camcorder Makes Phone Restart
Oct 29, 2010I've never really used the video-recording until today. After maybe 3-5 seconds of recording, my phone will automatically restart. It's happened 3 out of 3 times, and one of those times it was stuck on the big M [battery pull fixed it]. I am rooted, but not running any ROMs or Themes. I am overclocked to 1.45ghz [if this makes a difference].

Jun 20, 2010I have a launch day EVO, Hardware revision 002, very minimal light leakage, no screen separation, and silver trim battery (if any of that matters). For the past couple of days, I have been experiencing what seems to be a complete lockup of the phone. After around 5 hrs of the phone being on, things start going haywire. At first it would lock up my live background. I switched to a static one to try and narrow it down. Then it was the screen doubling itself (weather widget would repeat on the bottom). A few minutes ago the dialog box that says "Turn Wifi On" stood on and didnt go away. I went into running services and it locked up until it rebooted itself. Ive never rooted my phone, not running a task killer and I only have market apps installed. What the hell is going on? Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking its time to factory reset (again).

Sep 20, 2010So I just flashed the FlyX ROM and when I reboot my phone it goes into Clockwork Recovery which is fine...I select reboot phone and then after about 45 seconds of everything booting and setting up it freezes...can't do anything but a battery pull. Should I select backup and restore in CWRecovery and do the restore? Will that save my ass or am I going to have to SBF it...I really DON'T want to SBF it but if I have to I guess I will have to set it all up...

Oct 22, 2010I was going to post this in the ApeX ROM thread, but I felt it was way too long and no one would read it. I would just like to add that I don't think this is a problem with the ROM, it's my phone. If you haven't tried ApeX yet, you should because it's awesome.
I'm getting a weird "soft reboot." That's the only way I can explain it. My phone freezes, and then reboots. The weird thing is that in the about phone it will have a continuous up-time. For example it would say up-time: 4h 36m when it froze and rebooted 5 minutes ago.
The other weird thing is that at 1.1Ghz, I can do a 20 minute stress test with zero problems. But a couple minutes later while unlocking my phone or texting it reboots.
It isn't just this ROM or just being overclocked either. I've always had this problem with 2.2. I turned off overclocking, and I've been going strong for about 10 minutes but I doubt it will last.
Did the stock voltages change between 2.1 and 2.2? Is it possible that my phone just sucks and can't handle the new voltages?

Sep 11, 2010My phone freezes 2/3 times a day. The remedy is to take the battery out and reboot. This usually happens when I'm using the camera, or trying to view saved photos, or gallery.Does anyone else has the same thing? What's the best way to over come this?

Dec 4, 2009Lately when I open a contact the phone freezes up as soon as it gets to the screen where it lists all my options for that particular contact (call, text, etc...). It makes no difference whether I search for the contact in the Google bar (which I enabled), if I open them from my "Starred Contacts" folder, or if I open them directly from the contacts list... no difference.
It doesn't happen every time but i'd say it's about 70% of the time, which is very frustrating. The phone locks up for probably about ten to fifteen seconds and then asks if I want to F/C or wait, if I click wait then everything is back to normal and i'm good to go.
Now since yesterday I have installed Beautiful Widgets (which I have heard nothing but good things about), Home++ and Better Keyboard. All of those apps seem to be reliable and not only that but i've actually gone through and removed all apps I didn't really need just to see if possibly one of them was causing the problem.

Mar 21, 2010I am running Bugles Beast v0.9 (although when I go into Phone Info it says "Build number Bugles Beast 1.2"). Anyway, I downloaded the Chevy 5 slot 1GHz kernel and named it update.zip and when I install it says it's installing fine but when I go to reboot my phone freezes up at the Motorola screen. I have even tried changing to frequencies supported by the kernel (250, 550) but it still won't work...keeps freezing.

Feb 3, 2010Whenever I try to log into my youtube account on my Droid, it freezes up. I will open the Youtube app, press menu and click My account. Then it has 2 choices: 1) My email address, 2) Add account. When I click on my email it freezes up and eventually the Droid gives me the option to "Force close" it, as it is not responding. I also tried "Add account" and typed in my email address (which had already shown up as the first choice) and password, and it said "authenticating" and then froze up too.

Oct 4, 2010I'm on the stock rooted frg22d rom because of complications earlier and for some reason my phone randomly rebooted. I though nothing of it. But now when I rebooted. I only have 2 apps for some reason, Paper toss and Redbox Codes FWIW. So I tried to load a nandroid and I can't get into recovery. It just stays on the M and if I let it sit there then it would get into a bootloop on a stock non-overclocked rom. So yeah. Oh and my sister took administrator from my account so I can't use RSD Lite to non root and root again.

Her brand new, out of the box DX forced closed within an hour of starting it up. It had done it a few times, when we swapped batteries. Jul 31, 2010Seems to be getting more frequent. At first it was just freezing and would sometimes return to a usable state while I was listening to music. In the past couple of days it has begun freezing completely when using gtalk or other messaging applications when I would go to enter text. Voice to Text hangs and then force close, but everything else freezes up. I hold down the power button and feel the vibration when the screen to choose what option comes up, but nothing on the screen changes. A minute later, it reboots. I haven't had to do a battery pull yet.
Droid is rooted and I have removed maybe 3 apps... I can't pinpoint an installation of something that maybe caused this to start. Anyone with similar issues? Any fix? Should I just try and swap it out? I have the newest update...

Oct 29, 2010I have been trying to use the camcorder bit of my HTC Desire, and need to use it quite urgently. Wouldn't you know the damn thing has gone buggy just as I need to use it. It will NOT record, and it freezes the phone. Only putting it to sleep, or holding the Home key and choosing another recent app will stop it. However, it jams up the whole phone, which is evident when I check on System Panel, the CPU is constantly running at 100% Ridiculous. say I've ever seen a problem like this before, but I suppose I've not used the camcorder bit since the 2.2 update. I am at a loss at the moment as to what to do. I'll be honest and say my phone has experienced odd problems since getting that update. The extra "features" really aren't worth the bother I am now having.

I called Sprint's tech support and the lady said that Sprint did not work the bugs out of it for their phones yet, and that I have to go to the store and have them completely wipe it. This is unacceptable because I literally have put thousands of things on my evo. Is there anything else that can be done?
