When using wi-fi at home to browse the web it will frequently freeze up requiring me to disconnect and reconnect. When the freeze up occurs, PC's etc. connected via wi-fi are working fine.

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I just flashed the FlyX ROM and when I reboot my phone it goes into Clockwork Recovery which is fine...I select reboot phone and then after about 45 seconds of everything booting and setting up it freezes...can't do anything but a battery pull. Should I select backup and restore in CWRecovery and do the restore? Will that save my ass or am I going to have to SBF it...I really DON'T want to SBF it but if I have to I guess I will have to set it all up...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was going to post this in the ApeX ROM thread, but I felt it was way too long and no one would read it. I would just like to add that I don't think this is a problem with the ROM, it's my phone. If you haven't tried ApeX yet, you should because it's awesome.
I'm getting a weird "soft reboot." That's the only way I can explain it. My phone freezes, and then reboots. The weird thing is that in the about phone it will have a continuous up-time. For example it would say up-time: 4h 36m when it froze and rebooted 5 minutes ago.
The other weird thing is that at 1.1Ghz, I can do a 20 minute stress test with zero problems. But a couple minutes later while unlocking my phone or texting it reboots.
It isn't just this ROM or just being overclocked either. I've always had this problem with 2.2. I turned off overclocking, and I've been going strong for about 10 minutes but I doubt it will last.
Did the stock voltages change between 2.1 and 2.2? Is it possible that my phone just sucks and can't handle the new voltages?
My phone freezes 2/3 times a day. The remedy is to take the battery out and reboot. This usually happens when I'm using the camera, or trying to view saved photos, or gallery.Does anyone else has the same thing? What's the best way to over come this?
View 11 Replies View RelatedAfter some hours of being on/being used/whatever, my Droid X occasionally freezes when I press the voice-to-text button on the Swype keyboard, as well as the same button on the search widget (basically anything that uses the voice-to-text service). The rotating symbol is shown on the screen, but it's frozen, and so is the rest of my phone unless I hit home. I don't have a task manager running, and restarting the phone allows me to use voice-to-text again.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo, I downloaded MP3 Music Download App. and then downloaded a song. Shortly after, my phone locked up. I pulled the battery and restarted and now the phone (Droid X) freezes upon startup when it tried to load the card. I suspect that the song I downloaded is messing it up. I am relatively new to Android phones and SD Cards in general, but any tips on how to fix this issue?

View 11 Replies View RelatedMy phone freezes up at least 6 times a day after the update. I have to do a battery pull to get it going again. I did a factory reset and formatted the sd card same thing happens. I called Verizon and they said they are having lots of calls from people with the same issue and a new software update will be coming out to fix it. She said that if they sent me a new phone it would have the same issue. Has any one else been told this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedLately when I open a contact the phone freezes up as soon as it gets to the screen where it lists all my options for that particular contact (call, text, etc...). It makes no difference whether I search for the contact in the Google bar (which I enabled), if I open them from my "Starred Contacts" folder, or if I open them directly from the contacts list... no difference.
It doesn't happen every time but i'd say it's about 70% of the time, which is very frustrating. The phone locks up for probably about ten to fifteen seconds and then asks if I want to F/C or wait, if I click wait then everything is back to normal and i'm good to go.
Now since yesterday I have installed Beautiful Widgets (which I have heard nothing but good things about), Home++ and Better Keyboard. All of those apps seem to be reliable and not only that but i've actually gone through and removed all apps I didn't really need just to see if possibly one of them was causing the problem.
I put the movie Hot Tub Time Machine (.avi) onto my Droid X. Plugged the DX into my computer, selected USB on the phone, and went into DCIM -> Camera -> and dropped Hot Tub Time Machine into there. Now when I play it on my phone it freezes after like 4 secs and the sound goes off.
However, when I go into "edit video" on my phone, I can watch the entire thing with the edit panel and everything. Weird huh? But it wont let me watch it correctly by hitting "play"?
I am running Bugles Beast v0.9 (although when I go into Phone Info it says "Build number Bugles Beast 1.2"). Anyway, I downloaded the Chevy 5 slot 1GHz kernel and named it update.zip and when I install it says it's installing fine but when I go to reboot my phone freezes up at the Motorola screen. I have even tried changing to frequencies supported by the kernel (250, 550) but it still won't work...keeps freezing.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to log into my youtube account on my Droid, it freezes up. I will open the Youtube app, press menu and click My account. Then it has 2 choices: 1) My email address, 2) Add account. When I click on my email it freezes up and eventually the Droid gives me the option to "Force close" it, as it is not responding. I also tried "Add account" and typed in my email address (which had already shown up as the first choice) and password, and it said "authenticating" and then froze up too.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWorks nicely for my X. I just downloaded about 8 gigs of my music. It sync'd my videos also. Works well, but you have to select what you want to sync in the settings. Took me a while to figure it out. Also, if you try to sync a DRM protected MP3, the X gets cranky and kind of freezes up and displays a get license in the notification area.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am new to the whole rotting thing, I installed the bugless beast on my droid 2 days ago and everything went great and it worked fine, I'm just having an issue with it being really lagy at times and the biggest problem is that it freezes everytime I open or close the keyoard, I have to forse close and wait for it to load everything up again, a message is desplayed and it says:
The application launcher+(process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Then I hit forse close, it usually only happens when I open or close the keyboard but sometime it will happen at random. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it.
When using a home replacment like Helix, Home++, etc. does the android home still run in the background and reduce performance? I had a lot of stuff on my stock home but just switched to Helix so how do i stop/disable stock home if it is running?

In fact, I've removed all beautiful widgets from all my home screens and home screen replacement apps. Yet for some reason I get the weather thing in my status bar as if I had Beautiful Home running. Which means it's somehow being run without being told to. And it only does this with Sweeter Home.

Since the 2.2 update, when I use a home switcher to use one of the replacements, my phone defaults back to the stock home screen when I hit the hardware home button on the bottom of my Moto Droid. Is there a setting I am missing to change this. Even when I select the replacement as "default" using the Home Switcher, it still reverts back to the stock one when I hit that home button.

I am trying to root my Motorola Spice XT300, but when I try to root with SuperOneClick, it always freezes on step #4... USB Debugging is on, the SD card has been unmounted, and whatnot. How can I root my phone with SuperOneClick without it freezing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a non-rooted Droid 2 and the Desk/Home dock. When I first tried it out, it worked as expected-starting the home dock screen when placed in the dock. However, I now find that whenever I dock the droid, the notification bar shows that it is connected to the multimedia dock but it does not start the dock application. I used Astro to browse the /system/apps folder and found the Dock app- clicked on Open App manager and then Launch at which point I get a message saying "Activity not found com.motorola.dlauncher". I don't know if this is why nothing is happening when I dock the Droid but can anyone tell me why this suddenly stopped working and what I can do to get it working again?
View 15 Replies View RelatedMy droid seems to freeze sporadically. the phone will ring twice, but will not pop on screen for me to pick it up until after the second ring. It also takes a minute for the screen to pop back up for me to press the "call end" button.
Sometimes it freezes when I attempt to unlock lock it.

I don't know if anyone else had these problem before.. But i was on my phone talking to my GF.. For about 15 min.. And all of a sudden my phone freezes and restarts.Then a black screen shows up after the android boot comes up .. and says " No Service" in white letters.Then my phone restarts again and its working fine.. View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is more of an annoyance, but whenever I reply to a message off the home screen widget, it automatically defaults to the home number for that contact, instead of replying to the same (cell) number that it was sent from. If I go into the messaging app, it works as it should (replies to the same number).
