Motorola Droid X :: Performance - Web Browsing 10X Faster If Not Connected To Wifi At Home

Jul 26, 2010

I'm not sure if this is just me, but it's kind of strange. My web browsing goes 10X faster if I'm not tonnected to my Wifi at home. I have a wireless G setup, and the phone is connected to it with full signal strength. Is anyone else having a similar problem?

General :: WiFi Connected But Slow Browsing

Feb 18, 2013

I am able to find and connect to my Wifi Network at home, but internet connection between my new Android Tablet and Wifi is slow. My apple devices connect to the same router and are able to browser fast, the android tablet also browses fast with other Wifi network. There is something between the combination on the tablet and my wifi router that is making the connection slow (the google homepage takes forever to load so does other sites).

Tablet runs Android JellyBeans 4.1 and Wifi is secured using WPA-PSK (tired AES, TKIP and even open connection)

Motorola Droid :: Faster Home Screen Redrawing

May 13, 2010

It seems that my home screen takes a while to load anytime I switch to it. Noticeably lagging are the widgets on that screen (GMail Unread Count x2, Agenda Widget, power control). I figure this is because these widgets are killed when using other programs to free memory. Is this the case? If so, is there anything I can do to change that since I am now rooted?

Motorola Droid X :: Can't Use Connected Wifi Connection

Sep 16, 2010

I just got my Droid X two days ago and absolutely love it but it is having major wi-fi issues. It will connect, show me in every possible way that is connected but will not let me use the connection, e.g., browse the web, market store or any other type of internet/intranet connectivity. Is there any fix for this? Is it a software issue or hardware issue? Should I wait for the updates from Motorola or should I (and really don't want to) return it for another Droid X? If returning/exchaning it is my only option is there a way to backup all the apps/settings for my phone since I spent a lot of time customizing it already?

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: WiFi Worked Fine But Not Connected To Home Wireless

Oct 29, 2010

I had a new phone that the phone company forced me to block by not giving me the correct code for unlock (which I paid the phone company for), and they said sorry and after 5 mths with a new phone in a box (while in another country and not being able to use it), they decided to exchange the phone. They exchanged the phone and wouldnt give me a new one since the original problem wasn't reported before 7 days after purchase, but 9 days pff. The exchange is refurbished or something but is perfectly new looking and works amazingly well.

It connected to like 2-3 networks while I was away in that country getting the phone changed and now I'm back home and it will not connect to my home connection. I have changed every thing around and back and I have verified all settings, WiFi on and off. Hard reset - it will not connect. It says searching and then connection and then disconnected etc. Doesn't even say obtaining IP addy or anything. It doesn't say anything or give errors at all, it just will not connect.

Jelly Bean :: Browsing Phone While Connected To PC

Nov 20, 2013

how come it loads slow accessing my phone/memory card items when connected to any PC, even using usb 3.0 cable or 2.0 cable, my SD card is a sandisk class 10 from my gopro so its not the sd card. and the way you view pictures is also different, example, in windows you can click on a picture in the folder and use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll through the pictures using left and right, but when trying to do that with the pictures connected through the phone i can't, and i cant edit pictures on the phone with right click like in windows as well.

my old g2x wasn't like this, access was just like viewing any other item on windows fast speed and able to edit picture files still on the phone, this is on a Galaxy Note 3 btw.

I've tried countless times to forget the network and re-connect but still this doesn't work. My wife's on iPhone and hers connect seamlessly. Any idea what could be conflicting my connection? I am using WiFi widget by Robert Burger. It's a nice and simple widget and I don't think that is the problem. For connections, I have to disable the WiFi before I can get online.

HTC Droid Eris :: WiFi Not Staying Connected

Jan 25, 2010

I read the other posts about WiFi but mine seems a little different. This just started happening a few days ago. I understand that when the phone goes to sleep it shuts off it's WiFi thats fine although I'd rather it not but eh whatcha gonna do about it. The problem I have is that after it wakes back up it says that it's scanning for networks. I have a lot of WiFi networks in my neighborhood and none of them show up. The work around I've found for this for the time being is to shut the WiFi off and then turn it back on. When I do this it connects back to my WiFi and life goes on.

I've pretty much spent the entire weekend installing and uninstalling 2.2 on my droid. With 2.2 I was getting about 1200 in quadrant (oc'ed at 1ghz as well).I then compared my phone with my brothers (his is setup exactly how mine was before 2.2) and while my phone was a bit snappier scrolling through home screens and opening the app drawer, when it came to opening programs - his droid opened the programs faster than mine did. What is that all about? Anyone have any thoughts? Both phones were freshly rebooted.

It makes sense to scroll in whatever direction is more predominant.
