MotoDroid 2.2. Since 2.2, the auto-rotate screen goes haywire from time to time. I normally use the vertical format, easier to type, but when it switches, not much screen left, and I have to go back and back to start over again.

I'm having problems with my auto rotate. I use launcher pro, and have the homescreens set to not rotate. This always left my apps (handcent, gmail, etc) free to rotate within the app or popup now I only get one or the other if auto rotate is on, apps are stuck in landscape, and vice versa Ive deleted LP and started over, gone into recovery and wiped cache, battery pull running out of ideas?

Anybody know if there is an app that will allow me to disable/enable the auto-rotate feature of my Droid X with 2.1 on a schedule at a certain time automatically?

Sometimes the screen auto-rotates when I don't want it to if I angle the phone slightly. I am constantly toggling it on and off. To do so of course, I have to go into settings, then display. Does anyone know of an app that I can add the toggle switch as a shortcut on my desktop? It is kind of a pain to go through the settings each and every time. I would much rather just hit it easily on my homescreen.

Whenever I unlock my phone, most of the time the screen goes sideways when i'm not even facing it horizontal and I have to keep shaking the phone to get it correct.

I am left handed and so naturally rotate the screen clockwise when I want to view something in landscape mode, but the Nexus doesn't recognise this - does anyone know of an app to unlock this feature?

here is another 2.2 problem I am having, this one is kinda bothering me.I am using a program, need it to rotate horizontally, I turn the phone, nothing happens.I shake the phone, nothing.Shake it again, finally the screen rotates. If I start some apps with the phone upright, the app opens sideways.I turn the phone sideways, turn it back upright, nothing. It takes several tries before the screen rotates properly. Im sick of having to move the phone all over the place if I need it to rotate.

My home screen doesnt always rotate automatically. Sometimes I have to slide out the keyboard, slide it back, then turn the phone to vertical and sometimes that doesn't even work. I have selected auto rotate and it still does this.

I used to have a Windows phone and I found an app that allowed me to manually rotate the screen with the camera button. Is there anything like that available for the Android phones?

Unless I have the keyboard slid open, the home screen doesn't rotate.Apps do, but the homes screen doesn't. I have the auto-rotate open selected in settings. Also, when in my car dock, everything shows in landscape except when I am in a call. The call still shows up in the portrait. It is kind of annoying and lame

I upgraded to the new 2.1 leak. Noticed the stock camera app doesn't auto rotate. It stays static in landscape mode. Is this the way it supposed to be or can it auto rotate just like it did in 1.5?

I am thinking of rooting to upgrade to 2.1 but have some questions I have not seen here yet. I did try searching...but as each phone is different and the Droid root is so new I could not find these questions anywhere.I have seen the term brick thrown about quite a bit here. When you talk of a risk of bricking the phone are we talking the true sense, as in the phone will be as useful as? Or are we talking the more recent and inacurate type of brick...where things dont work, but you can still access the phone and with help can reformat?Lets say I root and insall Flan, and decide I am not happy with it. How easy is it to unroot? Can I just do a factory reset?
Do you have to turn off auto syncing and backups? Can I back up my phone and program settings so that if I can undo the root.I can restore my Droid to current configuration without a lot of work?

I have been reading up on the concept of push email, and how it's supposed to be a huge battery saver (since in theory, the phone would only receive a notification of an e-mail, and not the actual e-mail itself). I have also been reading up on how the "Gmail" app's version of Push email is not the same as other Push e-mail software, in that it requires the phone to "Sync" whenever an e-mail hits the Gmail server. As a result, whenever I would try to turn Auto Sync off (supposedly to save battery), I would no longer be able to get my e-mail notifications in real time.
With this in mind, I attempted to find another application that would enable me to use Push email for my Gmail account, without having to "Sync" with Gmail's server. After messing around for a bit, I found that I could manually input my Gmail account info (Incoming Server, Outgoing Server, Username, Pass, Etc.) into the stock "Email" app that comes with the X. Once this was done, I was able to enable "Data Push" in the "Email" app's Settings menu (as well turning off any Polling intervals). By doing this, I was able to receive new Gmail notifications through the "E-mail" app, even when Auto Sync had been turned off. As a bonus, I received them around 15 seconds faster than I did with the "Gmail" app's version of Push.....

is it possible to manually rotate the screen or fix the current screen orientation (with a key/button)? because it really annoys me having taken portrait pictures that cannot be viewed (with the media gallery application) in a portrait fashion on the milestone. this is because it always rotates the portrait picture back to landscape when rotating the milestone from landscape to portrait. right now there is no way of properly viewing portrait pictures on the milestone other than tilting your head (holding the milestone landscape and tilting your head along).this cannot be the way it was intended to be, right? or do I have to get a different viewing software which allows you to choose screen orientation? is there such an app?

I have a HTC Magic (Rogers Canada). And, I see how the Dream (G1) rotates the home screen. can the Magic do that as well? Also, anybody know if it's possible to rotate the screen to the right and not just to the left? Shouldn't the acceleromater detect all the different rotated modes (even upside down?). that'd be cool

I have been playing around with Timeriffic (great app!) and wondered if anyone knows if there is a way to have Auto Rotate of screen to not be enabled say, from 23:00 until 7:00?Even a separate (freeware) app would be okay as I don't see Timeriffic doing this? PS - Is there a way to save/export timeriffic settings/personal saved options?

I have purchased Karbonn A18, which is Android 4.0.3, 1 Ghz processor, 512 MB Ram. Initially the auto rotate option worked fine after 4 days, its stopped working and I tried
1. Switch off and on
2. Switch off and removed battery, SIM, memory card (8GB)
3. Two time complete reset including memory card.

Since the 2.2 update my screen auto rotation is horrible. When I want it upright, it goes sideways. WHen I hold the phone sideways, it flips the other way. Apps that I open seem to always start out sideways even when the phone is upright. I turn it around, nothing happens. If it does rotate back, it is so delayed you think it is not working. It never seems to be the direction I want it, getting very frustrating and annoying to keep flipping the damn phone around all the time to try to get it right. I sure hope the new FRG22 update, if it ever comes, can fix this problem. So far, 2.2, besides flash, has been a big disappointment for me.
