View 2 RepliesI cant find a gmail spell check anywhere. Are they out there? does anyone have recommendations? If it also had web/txt spell checking that would be ideal also but my main concern is email spell checking.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI woke up after a nap this afternoon (you know, after coloring but before recess ) ... and i had received a text and i went to reply and my auto correct didnt know the word 'you' 'eat' and a few others and i am sure there are many more i will find. i do not know how to fix it. i guess i will just have to work through it and add the words it doesnt know.
But also if i type 'lol' then by default 'LOL' will come up if i press space unless i manually go up and select 'lol' in the little word list predict thing <--yes, that is the actual HTC given name , this is also the case for many other words and if i add the word to the dictionary it still might not use it automatically. even if i spell it right and it is in the list it may use another word when i press space.
I'm a new Evo user. I loved the auto correct options on my BB. I like the auto correct of the evo, however the suggested words that pop up really distract me and slow me down. When I shut this option off, though, I can't seem to find any way to spell check or auto correct any words in texts, etc. Is there a way to keep the auto correct feature, but hide all the suggestions?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a GNex, which of course comes with ICS. It seems to have a spell check built in, but I prefer to use the spell check that comes with Swype. Is there a way to turn off the native spell check so that it doesn't get in the way of Swype's suggested words?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my first Android phone (N1), and like it so far. There are a few things that drive me up the wall, though. One of them is the 'autocomplete' (not sure what it's called): where Android suggests words as you type a text message. Great when I'm typing English, not so great when using other languages. Can this be turned off?
View 4 Replies View RelatedQuick question.. is there a way to enable spell check, but disable the who correct?? the auto correct is extremely annoying when it changes words on you. how ever id like it to tell me if i miss spelled a word..
like i tried to write DL (down load) and it auto changed it to florida.. or i went to type Mo Williams, and auto changed to Month Williams.
i came from a storm and the storm would underline miss spelled words but not auto correct it.
i played around with all the settings.. cant get it to just spell check with out auto correction.. are there any apps?
Any suggestions? I think AdvTxt does this, but it has a really bad rating in the Market. Anyone used that? Since it's paid only I'd rather not buy something with bad ratings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc. However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is impossible to read the small font size in emails or text messages. 1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client. 2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller. I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these issues will eventually be addressed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI often switch between english and french when writing texts and it's annoying to always have to switch between english and french spell check (hold the space button or globe button and select language).
Is there some app or option that allows for the language to get detected and spell check to be changed automatically?
I am using 4.4.2 on nexus 4.
Does the Epic have a spell checker that works w/ email, text, & Internet browser?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen using Google Hangouts to text on my Nexus 5, every time I enter a web url the string is spell checked and becomes un-clickable. Example:If I type: "whatismyandrioidversion.com" into a txt/sms chat using hangouts, the string is spell checked and auto corrected to "what is my android version.com".
So, then I have to go through a very annoying process of deleting the spaces between each word and fixing the url before I send the message.
I recently rooted my Galaxy Nexus (LTE) and flashed it to 4.0.4 stock. After I did this nearly everything that I typed would be underlined as incorrectly spelled. It seems to me that there is no dictionary for the spell check to use.
How to add the dictionary back?
Is there any apps that will spell check text or email that was typed via the Epic?
Or anyway to get the EPIC to do spell check when typing?
What i did but now my phone makes an annoying type writing sound when i text. I looked though everything and cant find what turns it off. And also the spell check when u type is off too how do i turn that back on?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEach evening i plug my Droid X into the charger and place it screen down on my night stand. Last week i woke up to my Droid playing a YouTube video from a website-a car chase with police which scared me awake and i tried to get it to stop playing which it did. I settled down and after a few minutes while trying to go back to sleep i heard the voice command asking me "which number?" and it began dialing some number. Well i stopped that and turned the phone off and on again and went back to sleep. Last night I heard it again asking me "which number" and it called my wife's cell phone!
Each incident happened around 3:30 AM.
Update:
This morning 09/17/2010 5:20 EST i was awakened by a video playing on my Droid X! When i go to sleep i place the X face down on the night stand whit the charger plugged in. Anyone else have this experience?
Has anyone experenced this or does my Droid X have a ghost ?
How do I turn off the apps that are redundant that I don't need? I use Handcent but the messages also come up in the other Txting apps. I only need one. Contacts. I have Exchange Server which has my contacts. How do I turn off the other contact apps/widgets? I have 3 dialers and the one I surely don't want is the standard one. But when I hit the button on the bottom left, a window comes up asking me to choose. One of the biggest complaints I have with the X is all the extra clicks you have to make to get something to happen. Too many steps which waste time. Yeah, you can argue the flexibility is desired in some cases but not when it costs productivity.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi am seriously considering joining the root party, but the number of 3rd party programs needed seems daunting. can anyone compile a list of all the software/download links you need to do it correctly? i have already read the following threads and am pretty set on using BuglessBeast 0.5 as my new ROM.The Official One-Click Rooting Solution for Droid Thread LATEST: V2.0.4.Painless and Thorough ROM Switching in Under an Hour.i know those threads mention Motorola Drivers, Soup or Root, ROM Manager, Nandroid, CW Recovery, and a few other programs. which ones do i absolutely need, and is there possibly an easier way than the one posted above to load BuglessBeast after i am done with the root? when i first started looking up info, i figured rooting would be the hard part; now it appears that loading the new ROM is much more complicated. i know there is alot of info already posted here, but sifting through it all for the useful bits is an arduous task. please be nice to the newb!
View 18 Replies View RelatedIt seems like whenever I play around on the phone for a bit and the go to close my apps with TaskPanel the following are always running even though I didn't touch them:
Alarm Clock
Corporate Calendar
Calendar
Settings
Messaging (even though I have not used it at all)
and one other that isn't showing up right now but was something like mobile.? or
Some of these I don't care if they're running (I assume the Calendar is running since I need it to run for my Google calendar widget to work), but why is Alarm Clock and Corporate calendar always running? Is there a way to turn these off?
My question was asked by someone else before but wasn't answered. I was wondering if there is a way to keep a program from being closed wwhen it is in the background. I am currently running cm6 and I have noticed that my aim app constantly closes.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have read quite a bit on task killers and decided that I didn't want to use them, but a friend of mine who has a G1 brought up an interesting point. He told me to look at the programs that are currently running. So I did and saw that there were about 7 that were running in the background that I NEVER use. I understand that you don't want to be constantly shutting down programs you use because it will make your phone run slower (can't access them as quickly). But what about programs I never use? I only use the GMAIL ap, so I don't need the email or the corporate email running. I don't have virtual voice mail, so I don't need that... and so on. Right now, rooting is beyond me, so I'm not going to do that. Are there any other options other than rooting to keep these from loading?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I use a standard app tray, anyting I download from the market gets put in it right away. But I have been trying all kinds of things lately that wont. The only way I can get them loaded is to turn off the phone and turn it back on again. Home++ is one of those. I have also tried some other roms that does the same thing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the free Advanced Task Killer app save as much battery life as possible.
After I "kill" all the apps, the same programs tend to run all over again (Alarm Clock, Corporate Calender, Settings, etc). How do I block programs that I don't use but tend to open continually?
I installed a couple of programs not from the market (tweetdeck for example) how do I go about removing them? I know if I had downloaded it from the market I could just go there to uninstall it, but what if the APK was installed from a link? I am rooted btw. Can I just use the folder program to go in and delete the APK?
