I frequently use www.phonezoo.com to download free ringtones. I'm trying to redownload some ringtones and I don't see how to save them as ringtones. They come as an mp3 file and my old phone had a menu option to save them. Does anyone know how to do it on the X?

so i get the text with the ringtone in it from verizon and when i go into it and click the file it plats but there is not a option to save it or download it or anything cant anyone help

Friend sent me through text some songs to save as ringtones but cant seem to figure this out. It says I saved them but when I go to sounds then ringtones they are not there.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy fiance upgraded from LG Voyager to Droid 2. She wanted her old ringtones from the Verizon Media store so she downloaded them. When she stored them they were given default names. I was able to make the appropriate ringtone associations, except for voicemail. I have 2 questions:
1. How do you set a ringtone for voicemail? When I run the standard voicemail app (Verizon) I cannot being up a menu.
2. How do I change the name of a ringtone file?
I want to use the ringtone that comes stock on the phone called "New Player" as a notification tone for text messages. Any way that I can do so?

Had a friend text and email me a cool ring tone to my phone which I clicked on save to sd card. Now once I save it and even download it I can never find it on my phone. I even went to the net and found this same ring tone and downloaded it and aved it to the sd card but of course I can't find it anywhere on my phone. I can never find crap when I save to my sd card there is no where on my phone I can go to and look at stuff that I down loaded to the sd card. I would really like to learn how to find crap that I save to my sd card and then use it as a ring tone.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI had the phone for a few days and I have downloaded some tunes into the music application on the phone and I see you can save the tune as a ringtone and also trim it which is all good, however, after I have saved the tune as a ringtone, when the phone is switched off and back on again, the chosen ringtone has gone and the "save tune" I had within ringtones has also gone.
I have tried contacting HTC and they are talking about something about route of the SD card and making folders which I have not got a clue about what they are talking about and they don't seem to give clear instructions in how to transfer a song from your PC to the phone and then make it into a ringtone.
I'm saving a sound from my app to be used as a ringtone or a notification sound. Here's part of my code, taken from this page:

My understanding is that the sound will be saved as well as a ringtone, a notification sound and an alarm, as the flags are all set to "true". At least on the emulator this does work but on the actual device, the sound only shows up in the ringtone list, and I have no idea why.
I've tried to investigate further: removing the line with "IS_RINGTONE" won't change anything (in case only one flag can be used at a time), the sound doesn't show up in the list with the notification-sounds.
I purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?
Apparently rooting and using custom ROMs hasn't solved this issue. Before I rooted my phone I was having the issue that, despite checking the "Use by default for this action" box, my phone just plain refused to save what homescreen app to go to when I tap the "Home" button.I've tried clearing the cache. I've done factory resets and data wipes (although I did restore "all apps with data" with Titanium Backup). I've tried using the Home Switcher app. Nothing works.Right now my phone is running the current version of BB, ChevyNo1's 1.0Ghz 5 slot update.zip for OC, and am using AdamZ's Smoked glass theme. I want to use the "HelixLauncher" app as my default homescreen, but it's rather obnoxious having to constantly select it when I hit the home button (it'll save my default action for a few clicks, and then I'll have to set it again).

View 3 Replies View Relatedso we just got the Eris for my gf (I have a rooted droid) and she's loving the phone, but is def a BIG adjustment from the blackberry. The biggest problem that we are having is that the phone will not ring until about the 3rd or 4th ringtone, which by the 6th or so, it goes to VM anyways.... so If I call her (or anyone) I'll hear the calling tone from my end, and on the 4th one or so, finally her phone will ring, but you have about 5 seconds then it goes to voice mail... can anyone help me with this? if it matters, I do have google voice setup with gvoice as the stock vmail... I don't remember if it was doing that before this

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use different ringtones for as many as 12 contacts so that I know who's calling me! Once in a while when the last person that has a dedicated ringtone calls me the default phone ringer set itself to that person's ringtone. I turned off my phone took the battery off and the rebooted, the problem goes away for a awhile and before you know it happens again! It's really bothersome when you think a particular person is calling you, (because of a ringtone) you answer and it someone else.

But when I get a text, it is still active! I even deleted the soundboard. In my settings it now shows my old tone but dosent use itt for some reason.

And from what I have seen so far I shoulda got the Droid when it first came out. Although a little bigger in size it is a solid feel and I love the speed. No Lag Hero was darn laggy. Anywho, I am part of the droid cult and here to stay. Can anyone tell me of any good apps to have or must have apps on this phone and what else I can do with this thing? Also is there a place I can download songs directly on the phone or on my pc to put on this bad boy? And how do I get custom ringtones etc?Is the stock sms good enough or should I go with one of the sms apps like the one that starts with an H cant think of the name right now? Is there an issue with battery life with the stock sms like there was with the Hero?
