Friend sent me through text some songs to save as ringtones but cant seem to figure this out. It says I saved them but when I go to sounds then ringtones they are not there.
It started last night. I got an email and "Glory Days" starts playing after the phone vibrated. I got an email and some other song started. This afternoon I get a call and Dr. Dre starts playing!
In every case, this was not the set ringtone, nor even in the ringtone list! These are songs from my SD card! - What the heck! Any idea how this could have happened? If it was all my SMS or email or calls, I would say its an app, but its been Everything!
This is my first post and i traded my incredible in for a droid x. I must say i liked the incredible had it since day one, but the x is a better phone in almost every way. Anyway to my question, how do i save pictures and songs to the 6+ gigs of space on the phone? At the moment i have a small sd card and want to take advantage of some of the extra space ty.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read most of the threads on how to sync songs with my Droid X but the problems is this: over the years as I have acquired music I have changed the artist names and song names to be neatly organized. This, however, was only reflected in my iTunes Library and apparently not on my hard drive. Now if I want to sync to my Droid X all of my songs will look very disorganized.
Is there any way to, and without manually going back and renaming all the files, sync the exact iTunes Library, new names and all, to my device? I've tried doubletwist, the motorola program and VCast Media manager, but those all take their info from the original files.
On My Nexus I could set one of my songs as a ringtone, theres not option on my captivate.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I download music from my computer (PC) to my motorola droid the songs for each album are put in alphabetical order rather than the original album track order.I don't see an option to reorder them any other way.Could this be happening because of the download method I use? I'm using Windows Media Player to save from CD to PC, then copy and paste onto my SD card.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave been using the HTC and Android music players on the Desire, both pretty decent and do the job. However when listening to a mixed album where the songs - despite being separate files - mix into each other, there's a small gap/delay as it stops playing one song and starts the other. The Android player's gap is shorter than the HTC version (which is a shame as I like the HTC's widget), but there's still a gap. Is there anything I can do to either widget so that there's no small delay? Or alternatively is there a music player out there that will play the songs with no gap?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to the Droid OS - just got my Incredible last week. I've been playing around with it and got some of my songs on the micro SD card. I would like to select a bunch of them and move them to a playlist. Other than manually selecting them one at a time, is there a faster way to group select them and move them to a playlist?

I am trying to get a custom ringtone I made free online from a text message. I can play the ringtone from the text but can't figure out how to save it. I press the menu button and it just takes me back to the text. Any ideas?
I have the Samsung Moment, and I've run into this problem with both the default Music app as well as MixZing. Haven't tried any others yet, though.
So, everything but about 3 (out of a few hundred, haha) songs is tagged properly and shows up under artist as one expects, sorts into the correct albums and all - but within albums the songs go alphabetically, rather than by track number.
Does anyone know how to make my songs actually show up in the correct album order instead of just alphabetical order? Kind of messes things up if you're trying to listen to a musical.
How do the makers of music download apps that allow you to get the songs for free get away with it. Is it O.K for them but illegal for us? Wasn't the law changed a while back?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am getting really bent trying to figure out how to save a mp3 as a ring tone. Had a friend text and email me a cool ring tone to my phone which I clicked on save to sd card. Now once I save it and even download it I can never find it on my phone. I even went to the net and found this same ring tone and downloaded it and aved it to the sd card but of course I can't find it anywhere on my phone. I can never find crap when I save to my sd card there is no where on my phone I can go to and look at stuff that I down loaded to the sd card. I would really like to learn how to find crap that I save to my sd card and then use it as a ring tone.

I have tried contacting HTC and they are talking about something about route of the SD card and making folders which I have not got a clue about what they are talking about and they don't seem to give clear instructions in how to transfer a song from your PC to the phone and then make it into a ringtone.
I'm saving a sound from my app to be used as a ringtone or a notification sound. Here's part of my code, taken from this page:
CODE:................
My understanding is that the sound will be saved as well as a ringtone, a notification sound and an alarm, as the flags are all set to "true". At least on the emulator this does work but on the actual device, the sound only shows up in the ringtone list, and I have no idea why.
I've tried to investigate further: removing the line with "IS_RINGTONE" won't change anything (in case only one flag can be used at a time), the sound doesn't show up in the list with the notification-sounds.
Coming from a Iphone to the X the music player is a little lacking. Often I will go into a certain artist and want to play all the songs by that artist, or thumb through all their songs to find a certain one. On the stock music player on the X this seems hard to do (maybe I'm missing something).
if I pull up the music by artist and select a certain artist then it shows me all their albums (The iphone has the option at this point to select all albums and see all the songs of that artist in alphabetical order). The X doesn't give a option to select all albums at this point. If I go to artists and long press on a certain artist I can select play and it will start playing all that artists songs, then I can hit pause and go into the list from that point to see all the songs but they seem to be in a random order making it hard to find a specific song.
I've tried a couple other players and haven't been able to find one that functions like the Iphone, makes it hard to quickly find one song.
I see there are a lot of ringtone apps out there but was wondering what the best one is ? New Music is nice but would like funny ones as well?
