Motorola Droid :: Different Outlook - Error - Application Email - Processcom.android.email - Has Stopped Unexpectedly
Jan 5, 2010I am having no problems syncing with Outlook. My problem is that when I click on an email it never opens up the email. Instead I get a force close. The error I get says, Sorry! The application Email (processcom.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Mar 28, 2012I'm redoing my home screen, and I want to have a few text icons that take me directly to specific home screens. Apex launcher has action shortcuts for this, but they are only 1x1. I cannot use widgets to get these actions... I have to use shortcuts. I have done what I want with 1x1 shortcuts, but they are just too small for my taste. I really want 2x1 shortcuts. I have not been able to figure out how to make them with either Simple Text or Desktop Visualizer.

Oct 29, 2010I have Apex and I've been running the Mad OC script at 1.3 through terminal emulator. My phone just isn't quite as stable as it should be. Maybe 1 random reboot per day (or it will freeze playing angry birds) How do I modify to OC 1.2 Is there a preferred method to accomplish this? I've tried searching and I only got more confused. I've seen manual methods and I've seen apps free and paid... I know I'll need to edit the set scaling.sh. I haven't done that but I'm willing to try? Which method should I use? Do you have setting that are stable at 1.2? If so please share. I really think the 1.2OC will be the sweet spot for my DX.

Sep 13, 2010I switched to a Droid X from a BlackBerry. On the BlackBerry, not only could you set phone and SMS custom alerts and ringtones (in addition to custom ring profiles for certain contacts), you could also set email alerts.
So for example, if my husband emailed me, it would ring a custom alert for his email, not just for an email to that particular account. That meant I didn't need to look at my phone every time got an email to see who it was from. (I have a web-based business and I get literally hundreds of emails every day.)
On the BlackBerry, not only were there custom inboxes for each email account, there was a "universal" inbox. There doesn't seem to be a function exactly like that for the Android (I tried adding my Gmail accounts to the one there, but it keeps defaulting me back to each Gmail box).
Is there an app for this?
I have Ringo Pro for my custom sms and call alerts, but an email alert would be a lifesaver. There are a lot of BB converts to Android (and I'm sure more to come) who would gladly pay for an app to handle this. So far, it's the only thing I can see where the Droid X doesn't beat the BB.

Nov 18, 2010Just got a new Droid X, have been using the Droid Inc but gave it to my wife. I liked the Email Icon on the desk top that shows the number of unread emails (POP3 account)... Is there any way to get that type of email icon notification instead of on the Notification Bar? OR, is there a better email client app?

Feb 15, 2010I try to send numerous emails through the Gmail app and they won't send. They sit in my Outbox and never send. Is anyone else having this issue, or had this issue and care to help how to reslove it? I had the Smoked Glass Rom, but switched back to my old edited rooted nandroid backup, then even tried the OEM version I had backed up, but it still won't send.

Sep 17, 2010Can anyone tell me how to setup a google apps (no gmail) account on a Droid X? I set it up on my Fascinate easily. I need to set SSL for outgoing, and TLS for outgoing. The Droid X only gives me the option of "use secure connection". The thing is, I got it to work as a regular email account last night, but then it stopped working. We have one ATT account through yahoo, and the google apps account from our private website. I tried setting it up as a gmail account since the settings are the same, but get the error "cannot establish a reliable data connection to the server."

Jul 30, 2010I have been reading up on the concept of push email, and how it's supposed to be a huge battery saver (since in theory, the phone would only receive a notification of an e-mail, and not the actual e-mail itself). I have also been reading up on how the "Gmail" app's version of Push email is not the same as other Push e-mail software, in that it requires the phone to "Sync" whenever an e-mail hits the Gmail server. As a result, whenever I would try to turn Auto Sync off (supposedly to save battery), I would no longer be able to get my e-mail notifications in real time.
With this in mind, I attempted to find another application that would enable me to use Push email for my Gmail account, without having to "Sync" with Gmail's server. After messing around for a bit, I found that I could manually input my Gmail account info (Incoming Server, Outgoing Server, Username, Pass, Etc.) into the stock "Email" app that comes with the X. Once this was done, I was able to enable "Data Push" in the "Email" app's Settings menu (as well turning off any Polling intervals). By doing this, I was able to receive new Gmail notifications through the "E-mail" app, even when Auto Sync had been turned off. As a bonus, I received them around 15 seconds faster than I did with the "Gmail" app's version of Push.....

Milestone: "Sorry The application email (process com.android.email) has stopped (unexpectedly) Please try again" followed by a "Force Close" button. This pops up dozens of times per day, causes no real problems that I'm aware of, but is pesky, as I have to keep tapping the 'Force Close" button all the time to make it go away (for a while).

Motorola Droid X :: DX Not Syncing All Email Accts / Won't Send Corporate Email?
Nov 2, 2010I have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.

Jan 26, 2010I just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

Sep 3, 2010I'm starting to get junk mail sent directly to my phone through my hotmail email account. I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.

Feb 16, 2010Over the past week or 2, several times now, I'll get a series of email notifications (sometimes as many as 10 or so, a few seconds apart), but then there won't be any messages. I'll check later, but still nothing.
I have a POP, gmail and an exchange account.
I'll also sometimes have POP email keep coming back, sometimes 5+ times, after deleting it every time. It may be 30 minutes later, or hours later.

Nov 9, 2012I am in the CC section of the original email I get the email back to me again. Is there anyway to stop this from happening? In IOS that doesn't happen when I reply to all it doesn't come back to me again.
