Aug 24, 2010What is the easiest way to root/unroot. Ive seen videos on easy root that looked pretty damn easy, just didn't know if it actually worked i guess it looked too easy. The only thing I want to do with root is get some nice themes more thank likely i won't overclock. Thanks in advance.

Apr 3, 2010I used DroidMod to root when I had 2.01. When 2.1 became available, I "un-rooted" then forced update to 2.1. Well to be honest, it is really slow and laggy. I now want to go back to DroidMod, but nothing I have tried seems to work.

Aug 4, 2010No immediate plans to but does anyone know how to? I assume delete superuser.apk su and busybox. Was there an original version of su that got overwritten? The only other dx we have that isn't rooted is a hundred miles away but i could try to fish su out of it and check the attributes on it. Anyone ponder this yet? May not be necessaryto do as froyo may wipe anyway. Then again birdman says 2.2 is patched and our 2.1 exploit doesn't work. Meaning an ota from vzw will lock us out.

Oct 22, 2010I rooted my phone by following All-One-Guide to Rooting, Deodexing, and Installing a Custom ROM/Theme (And How to Unbrick Droid X) and I downloaded rubix. but I cannot proceed from here. I am not using any extra apps that i could not use, nor the wonderful homepages. How can i set the HomePages look like others'? My look just like the unrooted phone. I wanna have huge clock, but i cannot find any of them after i rooted my phone.
So can anyone let me know how to find those widgets(themes?) or how to unroot my phone?

Sep 28, 2010So my phone was rooted using 1 click method during 2.1. However, my phone is now in 2.2. I did a hard/factory reset. Apparently that didn't remove Superuser permission. Residual root files are still there. I made sure to untick the option to back up my settings. So... I'm guessing I have to manually get it out. Any ideas how I can do it now? I'm looking to root 2.2 but I think it's best if I start fresh.

Oct 20, 2010I'm trying to remove my root. I had tried to remove root using SuperOneClick but it said superuser not on this device, even though it was. After a ton of work I finally FINALLY got superuser.apk off of the phone. Now what do I have to do next to finish unrooting my phone?

I'm beginning to think it's not the screen and actually the phone itself (since WaveSecure doesn't seem to be able to remotely lock / alarm the phone), in which case this post is moot. In either case, there is no way to unroot the phone without being able to mount the phone, correct? Since I can't see anything on the screen I obviously can't mount it. I'd rather not try to have them replace a rooted phone though. If the phone is fried, will they be able to detect that it was rooted?

Sep 21, 2010I'm developing the Soup or Root program for droids (computer-based, no apk yet sorry) as we all know, but I'm getting so tired of having to reflash my Droid to stock ROM over and over and over! I'm now working on Soup or Root 2.0 which means I'm going to be rooting my droid multiple times again to test effectively, but I really really really like the custom ROM and settings and everything I have on there now. Is there a way that I could save my Droid's current state exactly how it is as a flash able ROM for when I'm done testing, just flash to this ROM and I'm back to what I like? That way I could flash to stock ROM, root test, reflash stock ROM, root, repeat until testing is complete, then flash to my current state (ROM backup) and be happy with my Droid? Maybe I could get the droid simulator on my computer to be recognized by ADB, what do you think? That would save me all trouble of confusing the crap out of my poor Droid!

May 10, 2010I've changed my Moto Droid to the Droid Incredible, I will miss and keep Moto Droid in my heart. (It also made me realize iPhone was just a platonic relationship). I'm selling it off to offset cost. It's already deactivated, I've been trying to use the Rom Manager to download a stock image but it keeps failing, apparently it doesn't want to use Wifi (tried in airplane mode too). Even then the version it downloads is rooted. I'd like to reset/wipe the phone down to 2.1 or 2.0.1 and a way to make sure OTA will work when it gets activated. How can I do this?

General :: Samsung GT-S5570 Will Not Fully Root
Oct 30, 2013I've attempted to root my girlfriends phone for her so I can unlock it, but the phone just wont root. I've tried superoneclick and a ton of other 1 click roots along with the manual rooting at first (where you go into recovery mode and apply the update from the sd card).
I can see the superuser app, however I cannot grant superuser access to any apps. The version is v2.3.6 and if it makes a difference, it's an irish phone locked to use meteor (a network).
I've also downloaded rootchecker from the play store and it says that I do not have "proper root access to the phone" or something similar. Proper was the predominant word though.Whenever I use superoneclick, the application always freezes as well.
I can do the unlocking half of it myself, I just need root access..Also, when in recovery mode, this comes up in yellow at the bottom.

When it is fully charged, the LED turns green. I would really like something like this so at a glance I can tell if my phone is ready to come off the charger.

Nov 10, 2010OK, this is weird. I have already used RSDLite 4.8 and the 2.2 SBF file to flash to stock once with this phone. Last night I wanted to flash back again in order to make a backup, like a dummy I forgot to last time, and try a new ROM. The RSD program ran great, took about 10 mins. Completed successfully and phone rebooted. Once it booted back up I didn't have to go through the phone setup and LauncherPro was already my launcher. None of the blur was put back on and all of my apps were still loaded and accessible. I did loose root though. Anyone experience this? If so what happened? Here is my setup. BTW, I restored a backup so I am right back to where I was before the flashing.

Revolution Theme That is it other than apps that I have DL'ed.
