Im trying to find out if you can have multiple notification sounds on the droid. One notification sound for a text message, another for gmail, another for SSM, ect. I got missed call but it doesnt have gmail notifications to change.

Is it possible to set different notification sounds for different contacts? By this, specifically, can the Incredible be set to play one ringtone for my husband's texts and a different ringtone for my sister's texts? And if so, how?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a gtalk or text I hear the notification sound and it vibrates just fine. When I open gtalk and answer the text, then I put the phone down for a second and I don't hear any more notifications. This drives me nuts because then I pick it up and I see the person replied a long time ago.
On my old blackberry curve. Every time I get a message it would make a sound. With the droid, if you are in gtalk. It wont make a sound so other then checking the phone or looking at the notification light. I don't know a message came in.
If i go into each account and change the notification, it wont stick. always reverts back to previous sound. how do i make this change?

She has Zedge for downloading ringtones and notification sounds and her general notification sound is set as a sound from Zedge at this time. Will yahoo only use stock sounds so it doesn't play anything? I do have the box checked to use notification sounds and vibrate in the setting.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA text message or e-mail arrives, the notification alarm starts and I have to pull the phone out of the holder, press home to wake up the phone, press menu, then notifications to stop it. That seems like a lot of steps. Is there a setting I am missing to press the volume button or power button the stop the tone? Maybe an application? I know it times out at some point but by then I am sure anyone around me is annoyed at hearing "Check it out" being played over and over.

1 - how do I change the alert notification for my calendar? Originally it was just the standard alert. When I view the settings there was the option to use the standard droid alert of use a ringtone. So, playing around I cheeked use a ring tone. It brought me to a directory(?) or folder with 4 songs that I had downloaded using railio(sp) ringtones. Now that's the only place I can get to for ALL alerts and ringtones. Even for my contacts it goes to the 4 songs I downloaded from railio ringtones and I can't navigate anywhere else.
I have gone into manage applications and uninstalled the ringtone program, but still can't get out of that spot for my alerts and ringtones. It's driving me crazy!
2 - My contacts have multiple entries for one person.
How can I delete the multiple entries for a contact? When I edit the contact information for a person I see 3 - 5 duplicate entries for one contact. When I first got my droid I synced with 2 google accounts - I didn't know what I was doing --- so, the information under one contact is repeated many times.
I have tried to add my ringtones to my notifications but it wont let me I tred making folders on the sdcard and that doesnt work

View 11 Replies View RelatedI saved my ringtones to my SD card and mounted it to my Eris the first week I bought my phone. They worked great under notifications and ringtones. As of last week my notification sounds wouldn't change when I chose a different sound and then it'd stay on the very first ringtone I chose. Now, the ringtones I've set for notifications won't work at all. I can hear them when I test them out, but after I set it as my current sound I won't hear it when I get a text message or anything. I know others are having this problem. Does it have to do with the update you think? Maybe Android 2.0 will fix it.....

If I click on mail and open it up I go to menu Button>more>settings>notifications but all I can do is either turn the notification on or off. I can't set an individual sound for each email acct.

And even when I try to select a default notification sound, it doesn't change to it, its stays the same as when the one that it was set to when i got the phone. View 7 Replies View RelatedI can't get my Droid to play anything but the stock sounds for notifications. If I try a custom sound I get this crappy digital phone ring sound. I have made all my folders on the root of the card. I have tried rings extended but it still does the same thing. It shows the sound I want. It plays it in the selection screen but when it comes time for the phone to play it all I get is that stupid bell. I even used sounds that I know work as ringtones by copying them to the notifications folder, but still that ring is all I get.

My ringtone works as my new one. My notification sound plays my preference (Clapton's Layla) when I have an email and such, however, when I get a text message, it still plays the default sound. I am unable to use the following to code to play multiple sounds/beeps simultaneously. In my onclicklistener I have added

I'm playing some MediaPlayer instances at the same time (4 or 5) but sometimes when I try to start a new media player it doesn't work and an error is shown on the log:

It also happens when there're only 3 or 2 MediaPlayer playing at the same time. What does it mean this error? How can I workaround with it? Actually checking the isPlaying() after the start() call does not seem very helpful as every call returns true. I've to say that every MediaPlayer is created once via MediaPlayer.create.
I've installed handcent on my HTC Eris and when I get a new message I get a notification from both Handcent and the default app. I only want notifications from handcent. How do I turn off notifications from one and not the other? This happens with my email as well.

Now how do i set one of those (.wav files) as a text message sound? Just figured it out.
