I have some custom notifications set up for email and text messaging. Perhaps 50% of the time, the X cuts off the notification sound by a few seconds. I found a few others complaining about this, but no solutions. Ideas? Other people with problems: Text message notification sound getting cut off? custom notification ringtones not playing fully

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just switched to the inc so i of course no longer have the default notification sounds that came with the moto droid. i always used the kubar sound, and i really miss it. is there any way for anyone to record this or copy this somehow and send it to me so i can use it for my notification sound again?

Anyone know of a good place/website where you can download notification sounds, I get alot of texts and moonbeam gets real annoying after awhile and I really hate all the notification sounds.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a gtalk or text I hear the notification sound and it vibrates just fine. When I open gtalk and answer the text, then I put the phone down for a second and I don't hear any more notifications. This drives me nuts because then I pick it up and I see the person replied a long time ago.
On my old blackberry curve. Every time I get a message it would make a sound. With the droid, if you are in gtalk. It wont make a sound so other then checking the phone or looking at the notification light. I don't know a message came in.
If i go into each account and change the notification, it wont stick. always reverts back to previous sound. how do i make this change?

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust set my wife up with the new yahoo mail app that came out last week. Very nice that it pushes now. I can't, however, get it to make any notification sounds. She has Zedge for downloading ringtones and notification sounds and her general notification sound is set as a sound from Zedge at this time. Will yahoo only use stock sounds so it doesn't play anything? I do have the box checked to use notification sounds and vibrate in the setting.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA text message or e-mail arrives, the notification alarm starts and I have to pull the phone out of the holder, press home to wake up the phone, press menu, then notifications to stop it. That seems like a lot of steps. Is there a setting I am missing to press the volume button or power button the stop the tone? Maybe an application? I know it times out at some point but by then I am sure anyone around me is annoyed at hearing "Check it out" being played over and over.

Apparently, the Android system groups these together; I can assign a different tone for regular email, but not gmail, as the Android system groups them under "notifications." Has anybody experienced the same thing and is there affix or do I need to send it back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I ended up having to get a new Droid X shipped to me cause there was a problem with the screen and it was declared DOA. This new Droid X is working out great for the past couple of days. Now all of a sudden my ringtones are switching on and off and pinging like they don't exist on the SD card, but when I turn the phone off and remove the SD card and reinsert it back in everything's fine but then the "Droid" on/off noise is pinging now. It's the same issue I had with the originial phone, but that one was replaced because after the Froyo update I couldn't get any signal out of my house and Verizon concluded that I was close enough to a tower that I should be getting a minimum of like 3 or 4 bars. So my question is this. What is going on with my phone? I am currently operating on 2.2, I am not rooted. I have not messed with the essence of the phone, since I don't know that much about the software. I have not uploaded any apps that control or silence the phone and all my apps that were uploaded are the ones that I had on my prior phone with the screen issue, and they never caused this issue.
Here is the list of apps on my phone for those of you who would like to know: WordPress, AppBrain, AIM, Adobe Reader, NotePad, ColorPad, Pandora, DroidLight, Where's My Droid, Key Ring, Barcode Scanner, Urbanspoon, Jewels, The Schwartz Unsheathed, Angry Birds Beta, Astro, ChompSMS, Creature Pack Icon, Fancy Widget, and Smartshortcuts. So as you can see it's a very small list of things on my actual phone. I have used soundboards from the android market but that was only on my first phone and they were never ranked any lower than 4 and half stars. I don't download any apps below 4 stars. And I read all the comments as well, and there was nothing fishy or bad written about them. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to make sure I hit everything for you guys to be able to help me. I just don't want to go to Verizon if I don't have to cause they want to reset and send me home and it's a recurring issue if it's like my prior issue. I'm wondering if I have a bad SD card.Edit: Additionally I have the old phone with the screen issue and I had the new SD card that came with the phone, I popped it into the phone I'm currently using and powered it back on, and it's still pinged. I'm just not getting what the issue is cause everything was working fine the night before. All my ringtones were working and then I took it off of silent (the slide to silent from the lock screen, which I use since I haven't heard if the silent profile was fixed) and now everything is messed up sound wise.
I have tried to add my ringtones to my notifications but it wont let me I tred making folders on the sdcard and that doesnt work

View 11 Replies View RelatedI saved my ringtones to my SD card and mounted it to my Eris the first week I bought my phone. They worked great under notifications and ringtones. As of last week my notification sounds wouldn't change when I chose a different sound and then it'd stay on the very first ringtone I chose. Now, the ringtones I've set for notifications won't work at all. I can hear them when I test them out, but after I set it as my current sound I won't hear it when I get a text message or anything. I know others are having this problem. Does it have to do with the update you think? Maybe Android 2.0 will fix it.....
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two accounts on my phone, G-mail & Comacast, I swear I was able to have two different notification sounds for them, but I can't figure out how to do it. If I click on mail and open it up I go to menu Button>more>settings>notifications but all I can do is either turn the notification on or off. I can't set an individual sound for each email acct.

And even when I try to select a default notification sound, it doesn't change to it, its stays the same as when the one that it was set to when i got the phone. Any ideas what might be causing this and how to resolve it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI can't get my Droid to play anything but the stock sounds for notifications. If I try a custom sound I get this crappy digital phone ring sound. I have made all my folders on the root of the card. I have tried rings extended but it still does the same thing. It shows the sound I want. It plays it in the selection screen but when it comes time for the phone to play it all I get is that stupid bell. I even used sounds that I know work as ringtones by copying them to the notifications folder, but still that ring is all I get.

My ringtone works as my new one. My notification sound plays my preference (Clapton's Layla) when I have an email and such, however, when I get a text message, it still plays the default sound. Is there somewhere you change this other than notification sounds?

Im new to Andriod. Came from WM, but i have 1000's of notification sounds that i have added to my notification sound folder on the SD card. Now how do i set one of those (.wav files) as a text message sound? Just figured it out. Menu>Settings>Sounds and Display>Notification Sound>Select Music>Music then whatever files you have downloaded or stored all show up.

My ringer for my phone works and I made sure the notification, ringer and media volumes are all set to high. The speaker is working because when I hit the volume rocker it makes a beep. I feel silly asking for this but it just stopped ringing and I don't know how to get it back.

However, when I receive a notification while I'm doing something else, or heck even if I receive it while just looking at my phone, I want to be able to hit a button and make the noise stop! I realize I have an email, text, whatever, so now I want the .mp3/sound to stop and not continue to play the duration of the clip!
