1 select folder
2 menu select items
3 menu select all
4 menu delete

Motorola Droid X :: Picture Files Not Showing Up Folders

Aug 5, 2010

I downloaded a picture from the web onto my X. I used dropbox. The problem I'm having is I can see the picture when I go to phone files. I copy and paste from dropbox to my picture folder. The picture doesn't show up in the gallery. So just to be sure I copied the picture to a folder called background, its still not there in the gallery. Weird thing is when I go back to the phone files, and look for it. Its there in the gallery folder AND the background folder, but STILL not in the gallery! not sure whats going on there? I just want to make a picture a background thats all. It would be nice to just go into the phone files LONG press a picture and have the "Set As" option. This option only seems to be available in the gallery.

HTC Droid Eris : Sd Card Folders - Access Other Folders With Saved Data

Feb 17, 2010

I usually view email with attachments from my pc because I usually lack the time to download the attachment. Today, I had some spare time so I tried to download an attachment. It downloaded fine but when I went to view it, I received a pop-up box to save it to the sd card. After pressing ok, I was told the save was successful but now I can't find it. Aside from pics and videos, how do I access other folders with saved data?

Motorola Droid X :: Folders Not Opening

Nov 16, 2010

I have a Droid X running Froyo. It's rooted. I really want to organize all my apps into folders but lately different folders have been refusing to open. I click on them and they just don't open. Sometimes it's all of them and sometimes it's just one. If I restart it usually fixes the problem but sometimes I just have to wait for a bit. This is very annoying. I'm not using an alternative launcher or anything. Just the regular Motorola Droid X OS. Just rooted. Any ideas guys? Please let me know. I really want to get things organized again.

Motorola Droid X : Can't View All SD Folders On PC

Aug 21, 2010

Is there a way to view all (or at least more) of the SD folders on my PC via USB connection? The only ones I can access are those I created on the PC (except for DCIM). I like to retain extra backups of everything, so I'd like to back up my apps, bookmarks, etc to the PC where they are backed up to another drive.

I compared the owner, group and permissions of the PC-created folders vs the Droid X backup folders and they're the same. And I have the option to show hidden files selected on the PC. Do I have to remove/read from the card itself to access these folders?

Motorola Droid X :: Picture Widget And Picture Slideshow Widget

Jul 25, 2010

I posted this question sort of embedded in the "show us your Droid X screen" but I think it got buried with all the "what is that widget?" questions.I see on some screens the picture widget picture is big. Mine is only about 1 inch by 1/2 inch.I can barely even get 1/2 a face in the picture. How do you get a bigger picture?I'm running LauncherPro, is that effecting it?Since I couldn't get a bigger picture, I decided to try and add the slide show widget. But when I try, it says Widget Conflict only one photo slideshow per home screen. I don't have any other slideshow widgets on my screen. Any ideas?

Motorola Droid X :: Moving Files Onto Folders

Jul 22, 2010

My issue revolves around trying to use apps like the default files app preinstalled on the Droid X, Astro File Manger, or Estrong File Explorer. For some reason when I move files from folder to folder or copy and paste files into different folders the actual files appear to be there but when I go into the actual applications where the files should be they aren't there.

Example: I had put a few self made ringtones and notifications onto my SD Card via the USB cable that came with the droid from my computer to my Droid X. I made a seperate Media folder on the Card and put sub folders in that like I was supposed to. All the correct files appeared where they should once I disconnected and looked on my phone. New ringtones were in the ringtone directory through accessing them through settings, notifications where there, etc. Now when I try moving one of my ringtones into my notifications folder via, Astro file manager or Estrong File Explorer or the files app that came with the Droid X is moves the files into the folder and you can see it moved by actually viewing it in the folder you just moved it to. But when I go into my settings, notifications tones and look for the file I just moved there...it's not there for me to select, but it is when I look at my file manager. I've tried this in the music folder, ringtone folder and notifications folder and they don't appear in the actual applications where I moved them to, but they appear in the file manager as being there. Am I doing something wrong. I don't understand why this is happening.

Motorola Droid :: How To Rename Folders - No Option?

Sep 23, 2010

I just realized that you can add folders to the home screens by long pressing an empty space, then choosing folders. There are options to add New Folder, All contacts, etc. After adding a new folder and dragging app shortcuts, I can't seem to figure out how to rename the folders from the default "Folder" name.

Motorola Droid :: Organization Of Gallery & Folders

Nov 12, 2009

I have a particular folder titled "vacation", where I have all my photos from each individual place I've been. I've also downloaded the application "File Cover" [but we'll get back to that later] So the "Vacation" folder has individual sub folders: NY, Miami, Beijing, Canada...etc. When I pull them up in gallery, all the photos show up together. I dont, however want my Beijing folder to show up because it has photos from inportant artifacts and whatnot I dont want everyone to see. I downloaded "File Cover" to hide and password protect them. But they still show up in the gallery in small thumbnails, even though they are locked.

Motorola Droid X :: Deleted Folders And Cache Still There

Nov 11, 2010

I was looking through the files via ASTRO and also Files last night. I noticed several cases where folders, which I removed the app, were still in the directory. Also, the Zedge folder was full of images from browsing I presume.

I've cleared the cache via the browser and a lot of stuff was not removed. I thought I deleted an app and traces still remain.

How can I best clean things up?

Motorola Droid : Media Folders Lock Up - Qik App

Jan 23, 2010

I have a folder called Media that has my video apps, music apps, etc in there. I am wondering if it has something to do with the Qik app I have but sometimes if I am using Qik then go back to my main screen and then a little while later try to open my Media folder again, it will not open. My other folders will open. I usually have to do a hard reset of the phone (power off/on) then I have access to folder again. I am not 100% sure that the Qik app is causing my folder to freeze up or not. Just curious if anyone else has noticed folders freezing up and not opening when you tap them.

I have a lot of music and this can take a while. I can't seem to find the folde on the home screen to browse to.

Motorola Droid X :: Files - Folders Missing In Explorer

Nov 10, 2010

I have a Droid-X and am having a peculiar problem. When I connect the phone to my PC with the USB, I try to browse the files on the "DROIDXRemovable Storage" directory, but only some of the files and folders are showing up. If I download and save a file on the device, it doesn't show up at all in explorer. I've even tried copying a file to the device from windows, and as soon as I disconnect and reconnect, the file is gone in Explorer even though it shows up fine on the device's file manager. Does anybody know why these files and folders are missing when I browse in Windows Explorer?

Motorola Droid X :: Applications In Internal Memory And Android Folders

Oct 17, 2010

Couple of questions regarding internal memory and the Android folders. I have over 125 apps on my phone, but I have hardly put a dent in my internal memory space. So my questions are:
1) Why is it helpful to move apps to SD if they take up such little space?
2) If I want to put *data* in internal memory (possible?), or in an Android local folder *not* on the SD card, where is the best place to put it?

Motorola Droid :: Cleaning Up SD Card / Leftover Folders From Uninstalled Apps

Dec 24, 2009

Anyone know if there is an app (or PC program) that will scan the SD card and determine what folders are no longer needed that are left over from uninstalled apps? I have installed/uninstalled tons of apps and I still see folders on the SD card from apps I know that I no longer have. I have deleted the ones I know are safe to remove but there are some with names that are a little less descriptive of what they were for. I know I could just google each folder name and probably figure each one out individually but I thought there might be an app for it.
